Past Events of the Rainbow Sea Area

Changye blinked, watching the female's upper body covered only by two shells; a wave of heat surged straight upward, and his cold, pale ear tips were already red enough to drip blood.

He had forgotten that the female didn't wear a gauze garment when she slept.

He shifted his gaze uncomfortably, eyes darting around; he wanted to take another look, but didn't dare.

He was afraid that if the female discovered his actions, she would drive him out.

His mind lewdly recalled the scene he had just seen—so large, so white, so full.

"Give it to me."

"Ah? Ah?" Changye snapped back to reality, stunned, seemingly unaware of what Chaosheng was saying.

Chaosheng sighed helplessly and repeated, "I said, give the fish to me."

"Aren't you here to bring me food?"

"Oh, right, right!" Only then did Changye remember his purpose; a dull, silly look appeared on his cold and noble face as he hurriedly handed the fish in his hand to the female, "Chaosheng, this is one I specifically chose."

"Although it's not as big as the last one, it looks fatter and tastier."

Chaosheng looked at the big, fat fish still wriggling in his hand and praised it sincerely: "Not bad."

Receiving the female's praise, Changye felt so happy he was bubbling over inside.

He decided that he would come to bring the female fish every day.

But he didn't know if the female liked anything else; she would probably get tired of eating fish every day.

After Chaosheng finished the two fish, her stomach felt full; she leaned down and fished out two White Cold Leaves from under the Shell Bed. Fortunately, she had only taken one to play with last night; otherwise, if they had all been ruined, she would have had to go pick more today.

She looked at Changye, "You will come to the shore with me in a moment."

Go to the shore?

A trace of confusion flashed through Changye's deep black eyes, but seeing that the female had no intention of explaining, he could only nod and reply: "Okay."

Chaosheng took the White Cold Leaves and walked off the Shell Bed step by step. She scanned the area and saw Baini lost in thought to the side, so she said to Baini: "Baini."

"Hm... hm?" Baini, who had been distracted, heard the little Mermaid's voice and gave an involuntary jolt. His round, black eyes stared unblinkingly at Chaosheng, "What is it? Sheng."

"Go find a Beastman who has consumed Sea Spirit Ginseng."

"One I haven't seen before." After thinking for a moment, Chaosheng added, "One whose Mental Sea I haven't purified."

A trace of doubt flashed across Baini's handsome face as he looked at Chaosheng, puzzled, "Sheng, what do you need that for?"

"Did you forget?" Chaosheng looked at him with amusement, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly, "Didn't I tell you that Sea Spirit Ginseng is poisonous?"

"I might have a way to cure this poison now, but I need to find a poisoned Beastman to experiment on."

Experiment?

Another word he didn't understand.

However, Baini was long used to the little Mermaid popping out words he didn't understand, assuming they were just from the outside seas, so he didn't think much of it.

"Okay, then I'll go now."

On the Ice Shore, the cold, salty, and fishy seawater slapped against the shore, and the waves rolled and surged.

Chaosheng looked at Changye, a trace of inquiry flashing in her eyes, "How do you use your ability?"

Detoxification—truly a novel ability.

Not expecting the female to ask him this suddenly, Changye was slightly stunned for a moment before saying shyly, "I just feed the poisoned Beastman a drop of my blood."

"However, my ability is only at the second rank, so the detoxification effect might not be very good."

When Changye said this, he felt his heart go "thump-thump" and sink; would the female look down on him because his ability rank was low?

He didn't want it to be this way either.

He had clearly spent a lot of effort trying to improve his ability, but it was of no use.

His ability was too special; he didn't even know who to ask for advice.

"It's fine." Chaosheng shook her head slightly, her eyes filled with encouraging smiles, her voice light and gentle, "I might need a drop of your blood in a moment."

"I'll have to trouble you to cooperate with me then."

Changye naturally agreed without a second thought, "Mm-hm, okay."

Little sparks of light surfaced in his deep black eyes; as long as he was useful to the female, it was fine.

Listening to the sound of the surging waves, Chaosheng gazed at the boundless ocean and prayed silently, hoping today's experiment would go smoothly.

"Chaosheng, was the place you were from before like the Polar Sea?" Changye asked curiously. He was young, and although he had heard some rumors about the outside world, he hadn't taken them to heart.

Now, he was sincerely curious about what kind of place the female had stayed in before.

The place before? Chaosheng's eyes, looking at the sea, were slightly dazed. Recalling the original owner's not-so-pleasant memories, she said blankly, "There were many Mermaids there; it was a place where Mermaids lived in clusters."

"There was always a brilliant rainbow in the sky, so it was called the Rainbow Sea Area."

"Wow! That sounds amazing!" Changye's deep black eyes revealed a sense of longing, and he looked at Chaosheng expectantly, "That must be a very beautiful place!"

Changye had never been anywhere outside the Polar Sea, so he found everything different to be fresh.

If there was a chance in the future, he wanted to follow the female to see it.

"Yes, it is truly beautiful." Chaosheng's gaze darkened inexplicably as she said faintly, "That area was almost entirely occupied by Mermaids."

"The Mermaids were very powerful and could make all kinds of beautiful gauze garments and ornaments to sell to various sea areas, trading them for a lot of wealth and food."

"Wow!" Changye exclaimed in surprise, "A single tribe can occupy an entire sea area? That's too powerful."

So many of their tribes and clans lived in the Polar Sea, yet no single tribe had been able to dominate the Polar Sea and drive the other races away.

Hearing this, Chaosheng chuckled and explained to him, "No, the Rainbow Sea Area is not as big as the Polar Sea; it's probably only about half the size of the Polar Sea."

"That's still very big." Changye found these things very fresh and wanted to pester Chaosheng to tell him more, "What else? Is there anything else?"

"Other things..." Chaosheng recalled those long-blurred memories. The memories left by the original owner were gradually fading, and the deepest impression was the part where she was driven out of the Rainbow Sea Area.

Looking at Changye's joyful and curious eyes, Chaosheng decided not to say anything that would dampen his mood.

She picked out some unremarkable things to talk about, "The fish in the Rainbow Sea Area are very brightly colored; red, yellow, blue, green—they have every color imaginable."

"They are all very beautiful."

Changye listened and wanted to ask something more.

The sea surface before them suddenly broke open, revealing a familiar, handsome face; Baini spotted the little Mermaid at a glance, grinned happily, and revealed his sharp canine teeth, "Sheng!"

"I'm here!"

"Baini!" Chaosheng also responded happily, and seeing Baini's beaming face, her slightly heavy mood improved a lot.

After Baini came ashore, Chaosheng looked at the Beastman following behind him and frowned slightly.

"Why is it him?"
