Chapter 120: Aqizi
The person who arrived wore silver armor from head to toe, holding a fine steel curved blade; he was exactly the Persian Commander, Aqizi.
Huoshu's heart jolted; he never expected to meet Aqizi here.
Although he was highly skilled, facing a master like Aqizi, he still had no certainty of victory.
"Hehehe, it looks like I'm done for today."
Huoshu gave a bitter laugh; it seemed he would hardly escape today.
"Who are you? Why are you attacking our camp?"
Aqizi asked coldly, killing intent flashing in his eyes.
"Who I am doesn't matter; what matters is that you all will die today! Hehehe!"
Seeing that he had no retreat, he could only fight desperately.
Huoshu frantically pulled out a talisman from his bosom and scattered it toward Aqizi like heavenly maidens scattering flowers.
The talisman spun and danced in the air, bringing a scorching heat wave that blew toward him.
He quickly formed seals with both hands, chanting under his breath, and a strange aura spread out.
"Hehehe, taste my power! I'll burn you to death, you old bastard!"
Huoshu's hoarse voice echoed in the night sky.
Aqizi's eyes narrowed; as befitting the Persian Commander, a veteran of a hundred battles, he faced this sudden attack without the slightest panic.
His figure flickered like a ghost, moving freely through the dense fireballs, each dodge perfectly timed.
"Trivial tricks!"
Aqizi snorted coldly, his curved blade tracing a silver arc straight for Huoshu's throat.
Huoshu's heart jumped; this old guy's speed was astonishingly fast!
He dared not delay, hastily drawing his twin blades from his robe and barely managing to block the deadly strike.
"Clang!"
The piercing clang of metal colliding rang through the night; Huoshu felt a tremendous force travel up the blade, his thumb and index finger going numb, his arms nearly wrenched from their sockets.
"What tremendous strength!"
Huoshu silently cursed; this old fellow was indeed no easy opponent.
He dared hold nothing back, fiercely rubbing his twin blades together; a searing flame instantly engulfed them, two fire dragons coiling and dancing in his hands.
"Hehehe, this is just the beginning!"
Huoshu gave a feral grin, brandishing his flaming twin blades and charging at Aqizi.
The scorching flames forced Aqizi to retreat step by step; he hadn't expected Huoshu's fighting style to be so uncanny.
He could actually attach fire to his weapons, making it momentarily hard for Aqizi to fend off.
"What kind of sorcery is this?"
Aqizi secretly marveled.
Huoshu's attacks grew ever more fierce, his flaming twin blades constantly aiming for Aqizi's vital points.
Although Aqizi was a veteran of a hundred battles, facing this style of attack he also seemed somewhat overwhelmed.
"Damn it!"
Aqizi silently cursed; he had to find a way to end this fight quickly, otherwise prolonged night would bring more dreams.
He drew a deep breath, a fierce glint flashing in his eyes, and with a fierce swing of his curved blade sent a sharp blade qi tearing through the air straight for Huoshu's chest.
Huoshu's heart lurked; he hastily turned aside, the blade qi grazing his body and leaving a shallow wound on his chest.
"Too close!"
Huoshu silently thought; this old fellow's blade qi was incredibly fierce.
He dared not be careless any longer, waving his flaming twin blades even more wildly, driving Aqizi into steady retreat.
"Damn!"
Aqizi's heart burned with rage; as the esteemed Persian Commander, he was being driven into such a sorry state by an unknown nobody.
He fiercely swung his curved blade, pushing back the surrounding flames, then flickered to appear behind Huoshu, his blade stabbing like a venomous snake toward Huoshu's back.
"Go die!"
Aqizi roared angrily.
Huoshu's heart jumped; he hastily turned to block, his twin blades clashing with the curved blade and producing a deafening roar.
"Clang!"
He was blown away by the impact, crashing heavily to the ground, blood spurting from his mouth.
"Cough cough cough..."
Huoshu struggled to his feet, feeling as if his five viscera and six bowels had shifted, his whole body wracked with unbearable pain.
"Damn old bastard, you strike truly vicious!"
He hadn't expected Aqizi to be this strong.
"Hmph, overestimating oneself!"
Aqizi snorted coldly, brandishing his curved blade again and charging at Huoshu.
Huoshu knew he was no match for Aqizi; he had to find a way to escape.
Gritting his teeth against the intense pain, he tore off his outer robe and hurled it at Aqizi.
The robe turned into clusters of fireballs in midair, flying toward Aqizi.
Aqizi hastily swung his curved blade, smashing each fireball apart.
Seizing the opportunity, Huoshu turned and fled.
"You want to run? Not that easy!"
Aqizi let out an angry roar, pursuing relentlessly.
Huoshu ran with all his strength; if he couldn't outrun Aqizi, death was certain.
Just as he was about to flee the camp, he suddenly heard a cold laugh from behind.
"You can't get away!"
Huoshu's heart jolted; he quickly turned back, only to see Aqizi already behind him, his curved blade flashing with cold light.
Huoshu's vision blurred, and a figure blocked his path.
"How are you?"
Jiang Xiaomu's voice was low, tinged with concern.
Huoshu coughed up a mouthful of blood and grinned.
"I'm not dead yet; this old guy is quite tough."
Jiang Xiaomu nodded, said nothing more, and patted Huoshu on the shoulder.
"Go find Donghai and them first; I'll handle this."
Huoshu knew Jiang Xiaomu's ability, didn't stand on ceremony, struggled to his feet, and staggered toward the outside of the camp.
Aqizi looked at Jiang Xiaomu, a flash of contempt in his eyes, and said:
"Another one coming to die?"
Jiang Xiaomu ignored Aqizi's provocation and slowly drew the long sword at his waist.
"Cut the talk; let's see whose skill is superior!"
Jiang Xiaomu shouted coldly, his body like lightning, and instantly lunged at Aqizi.
Although Aqizi had expended much stamina in his fight with Huoshu, he was still a battle-hardened commander, his reactions swift.
He sidestepped to avoid Jiang Xiaomu's attack, then with a backhand sweep of his curved blade, a flash of cold light shot toward Jiang Xiaomu's ribs.
Jiang Xiaomu didn't dare to meet it head-on, quickly stepped back, and barely dodged Aqizi's attack.
"Not bad," Aqizi sneered.
"But that's all there is!"
Before his words faded, Aqizi launched another attack.
The curved blade danced in his hand like a spirit snake, each move deadly, forcing Jiang Xiaomu to keep retreating.
Although Jiang Xiaomu remained calm and composed, facing Aqizi's storm-like assault, he gradually felt overwhelmed.
Aqizi's swordplay was unfathomable and immensely powerful; each clash left Jiang Xiaomu's palm numb.
He could only rely on his agile footwork, continually dodging Aqizi's attacks while looking for a chance to counter.
"Do you only know how to dodge?"
His tone was full of contempt.
"Like a rat, you only know how to scurry around!"
