Chapter 10: Chaos and Plunder

~8 min read 1,414 words

Hanke's words made the six whiskers on Lao Shu's face twitch. He revealed his signature cunning smile, reached out a hand, and said, "Then I wish us a pleasant cooperation, Colonel 'Bone-Crusher' Hanke."

Hearing this name, Hanke frowned slightly and shook Lao Shu's hand: "I haven't been in the Navy for many years. Now, you should call me Boss."

The Great White Shark Fishman in the iron cage seemed to have exhausted his strength; his previous vigor was gone. He now leaned against the side of the cage, eyes fixed on the two men conspiring loudly, his expression neither happy nor sad.

"Hahahaha..." Lao Shu laughed wantonly and looked toward the iron cage: "Hey, don't you think this is very interesting?"

The Great White Shark Fishman did not respond to Lao Shu, so Lao Shu continued: "Hehe, I hope that after you are bought by those nobles to be a slave, you can still be as tough as you are now."

Clang!!!

Hearing the word "slave," a rage even more intense than before erupted in the Great White Shark Fishman's eyes. He opened his blood-filled maw, revealing two rows of sharp fangs, and bit toward the iron cage.

Lao Shu was startled by this sight and hurriedly shouted to his subordinates: "Quick, beat him hard, then inject a sedative—use a twenty-fold dose."

"No need."

After Hanke finished speaking, his figure moved. Lao Shu only felt a gust of wind blow past, and Hanke had already flashed to the front of the iron cage.

Looking at the Great White Shark Fishman who had already bitten tooth marks into the iron cage, Hanke grinned hideously and reached directly inside to grab his smooth neck.

Held by Hanke, the Great White Shark Fishman struggled with all his might, but Hanke gave a sudden tug and actually lifted him up by force.

"A Fishman's physique and recovery ability are indeed very strong, incomparable to humans, but I am Bone-Crusher Hanke."

After Hanke finished speaking, his hand gripping the Great White Shark Fishman exerted sudden force, the veins on his arm bulging. His left hand balled into a fist and smashed violently into the Fishman's abdomen inside the cage.

Struck by this punch, and combined with his previous injuries, the Great White Shark Fishman suddenly spewed a large amount of blood from his mouth. His whole body hung limp, like a shark left on a shallow beach, dehydrated by the sun.

"Hey, hey, hey, Hanke, I know you're very strong, but if you beat this beast to death, we won't be able to sell him for money." Lao Shu hurriedly stopped him.

Upon hearing this, Hanke casually threw the Fishman back into the cage and said to his subordinates: "Inject the sedative and lock his mouth with the Iron Face."

"That's more like it." Lao Shu rubbed his hands and chuckled: "Hurry up, Hanke, I can't wait for the beauties you mentioned."

Luo Di and Ka Li Na found a hotel in town, checked into a room, and then found a restaurant to eat. After a full meal, Ka Li Na took Luo Di to purchase supplies. After bringing the purchased supplies back to the hotel room, Ka Li Na said cunningly: "Captain, there are quite a few nobles in this town."

The implication was obvious.

Luo Di's mouth curled up; he naturally understood Ka Li Na's meaning. In fact, he had already made plans himself. For the past two days, not only Ka Li Na, but he himself had not slept well. After all, having lived in the inland regions in his past life, he was full of unknowns regarding the sea, and it was inevitable to suffer from culture shock upon first arriving.

"Do you have a plan?" Luo Di asked.

Ka Li Na said: "I just inquired that the town's resident Navy Lieutenant Commander Jige experienced a pirate attack on the coast. After the battle, his unit was wiped out. Now should be the period when the town's defensive strength is at its weakest."

"But I observed at the port just now that a small warship is docked in the distance. It might have come because of this incident. They are likely Navy from other nearby branches; it will take some time for the headquarters to transfer new people over. Let's get a good night's sleep tonight, and tomorrow I will go out to scout for information, formulate a plan, and wait for the right opportunity to strike."

Watching Ka Li Na speak eloquently, Luo Di's satisfaction with this navigator increased by a few more points. Everyone has their own specialty; although Ka Li Na's combat strength was currently almost zero, her other aspects were indeed outstanding, far exceeding ordinary people.

"Where are your eyes darting to?" Ka Li Na pouted in dissatisfaction.

"Let's sleep first, and wait until you've scouted everything out tomorrow." Luo Di was also already exhausted, so he immediately rolled onto the bed and entered dreamland.

Watching Luo Di fall asleep in a second, Ka Li Na left the room speechless, closed the door, and entered the room next door.

The next morning, the sun rose.

Ka Li Na got up, washed up, and went directly to the town streets to inquire for information.

According to the town residents, ever since Lieutenant Commander Jige died in the line of duty, no new Navy had been seen in the town streets. Moreover, chaos had now broken out; those thugs and hooligans, having learned of this, felt their inner desires gradually swell.

Just while they were sleeping in the hotel room last night, there had already been several "zero-dollar shopping" incidents. Now, many shops dared not open their doors, pinning their hopes on Navy reinforcements.

I did see a warship, but it didn't enter the streets, which means those people are all at the port. There is a shipyard over there, and it looks quite luxurious... Ka Li Na's thoughts raced, and she had already roughly simulated the possible situation in her mind.

She had intended to go to the port to see if the warship was still there, but now that the town had become chaotic, she could only return to the hotel and wait for Luo Di to wake up. Although she had the pistol Luo Di gave her, the ammunition was limited, and she still felt apprehensive facing those burly men.

When Luo Di woke up, he saw a note in the door crack:

Wake up and come to my room, just knock on the door four times.

Luo Di smiled, thinking that this little girl was truly cautious. He opened the door, went to Ka Li Na's room, and knocked four times.

Creak.

The door opened in response, revealing Ka Li Na's exquisite, pretty face. After Luo Di went in, she told him the information she had gathered and her speculations.

Ka Li Na said: "The town is getting more and more chaotic. Many people run to the port after looting. Our ship might not be there anymore."

They had anticipated this before coming. Before going ashore, the two of them had packed their items into bundles and carried them; there was only a small amount of fresh water and food left on the ship.

Before going ashore, Luo Di had already planned it out. He was a pirate now, and since he had come, he certainly couldn't leave empty-handed.

After listening, Luo Di pondered for a few seconds and quickly made a decision: "Let them make a scene. Let's go find a place to eat first and watch this good show."

Having slept for over ten hours, the fatigue of the past few days had been swept away, and now his stomach was growling with hunger.

With Platinum Star "protecting the Dao," Luo Di had slept exceptionally soundly.

Let the town fall into chaos; when the time comes, they could just rob those hooligans directly.

"Understood!" Ka Li Na instantly grasped Luo Di's meaning. He must want to use these hooligans as bait to see the defensive situation in the town, formulate a perfect plan, allow them to successfully obtain the wealth they wanted, and ensure their own safety.

As expected of my captain.

Luo Di took Ka Li Na downstairs together. At this time, there were far fewer people on the streets than yesterday. Many were looking around, seemingly making a choice. Most of the shops were already closed, and a storm of disorder seemed to be brewing.
