Chapter 11: Blood Stains Xiu Mao Gang

~8 min read 1,524 words

The port, the shipyard.

Inside a luxurious suite, cigarette butts, wine bottles, and scraps of gorgeous clothing were scattered everywhere; over a dozen scantily clad young women lay on the sofas, while Hanke and Lao Shu reclined, still savoring the pleasures of last night.

Hanke lit a cigar: "Are you alright, you bastard Lao Shu?"

"Ya, ya, ya, of course," Lao Shu laughed cunningly: "I am a man who has been through a hundred battles; this is just child's play, though your hospitality was truly excellent."

Knock, knock, knock... a knocking sound came from the door.

"Who the hell is so blind? Are you looking for death?" Lao Shu scolded.

"Colonel Lao Shu, some situations have occurred in the town, I need to report to you."

Lao Shu stood up with a look of annoyance and walked to the door to open it.

The subordinate reported: "Colonel Lao Shu, multiple robbery cases have suddenly occurred in the town, and many nobles have also been robbed. Those commoner thugs ran to the port after grabbing things, and there have already been several casualties."

"Hmm?" Lao Shu narrowed his eyes.

At this moment, Hanke walked over and said with a smile: "Don't worry about the town, let them rob; we just need to wait at the port."

Upon hearing this, Lao Shu instantly understood Hanke's intention. He narrowed his eyes and revealed a cunning smile: "Xiu Mao Zhen was attacked by pirates and a riot broke out. I led the troops to suppress it, and with the assistance of Mr. Hanke, we finally ended this farce and let Xiu Mao Zhen return to its former peace."

"Tsk tsk, as expected of you, Lao Shu," Hanke grinned: "I like you more and more."

With the town in chaos, it was not easy for Luo Di and Ka Li Na to find a place to eat. They turned through several streets, encountering thugs who coveted Ka Li Na several times along the way, before finally finding a restaurant that was still open.

They had already brought their luggage when they left the hotel, planning to leave after a full meal.

The highlands of Xiu Mao Zhen.

"Mayor, be careful!" Two maids supported the elderly Mayor, and the Butler had already led the servants to take up cold weapons.

"A Mao, what exactly is the situation?" the old Mayor asked.

"Master, I'm afraid the situation is not looking good. Our town seems to have been attacked by pirates. You should prepare to take refuge quickly," the Butler replied.

"Pirates?" Hearing this, the old Mayor was suddenly filled with inexplicable panic and said hurriedly: "Quick, wake up all my wives, we are going to the mountains to take refuge. Where is the navy in the town? Quickly tell them to go and kill this group of damned pirates, cough, cough..."

The Butler shook his head helplessly: "Master, you forgot, Colonel Jige in our town has already been killed by the pirates."

"Ah? Then what should we do? Quick, quick, go notify Hanke. That guy used to be a Colonel, he can definitely kill those hateful, cough, cough..."

Suddenly, the old Mayor felt the arm supporting him loosen. Due to inertia, he fell to the ground, wailed in pain twice, and looked up to meet the Butler's cold gaze.

"A Mao, you..."

"Master, Boss Hanke asked me to send you his regards." After the Butler finished speaking, he glanced at the maid beside him. The maid immediately drew a dagger from her waist, crouched down, and stabbed it into the old Mayor's chest.

Before dying, the old Mayor looked at the servants who used to bow and scrape to him, whimpering in his mouth, wanting to speak but lacking the strength to make a sound, and soon fell into a pool of blood.

"Do we need to dispose of it? Master A Mao," a subordinate asked.

"No need," Butler A Mao looked at the old Mayor's corpse on the ground: "Take all the treasures and come with me to the port to find Boss Hanke. Once this farce is over, you will follow me from now on; I won't treat you poorly."

After eating and drinking their fill, Luo Di and Ka Li Na walked through the streets of Xiu Mao Zhen with their bundles. At this moment, the town was already dilapidated, and even thick smoke was rising.

"Hey, stop."

Hearing the malicious voice behind them, neither Luo Di nor Ka Li Na turned back. The other group saw this and ran over angrily. Luo Di turned his head quickly, and in an instant, an invisible force sent them all flying.

Ka Li Na took the opportunity to search their belongings, very skillfully.

"The place where the nobles live must have already fallen; let's go to the port," Ka Li Na said.

"Hmm," Luo Di nodded, and the two walked all the way to the port.

Just as they were about to arrive, Luo Di saw from afar that many people with guns had come to the port. They were all wearing the uniforms of the Xiu Mao Gang shipyard, shooting mercilessly at the thugs who wanted to board the ships, and then pocketing the stolen goods they had taken.

Seeing this, Ka Li Na frowned slightly: "It seems to be a premeditated robbery, and the culprits are these guys. What should we do, Captain?"

"Of course, fight our way out," Luo Di said. The phantom of Star Platinum suddenly rushed out from his body, appearing in front of the shipyard personnel in the blink of an eye, and struck them with lightning speed.

The shipyard personnel didn't even know what had happened before their companions were already lying on the ground in a heap. Once this batch fell, the "stolen goods" they had intercepted packed themselves up and flew toward the port out of thin air.

Ka Li Na's mouth opened slightly, and before she could recover, Luo Di hoisted her onto his shoulder: "Bear with it, it might be faster."

As soon as he finished speaking, Luo Di galloped down the road like a wild horse. The supplies had already been placed on a three-masted sailboat in advance. Star Platinum returned behind Luo Di in the blink of an eye, its palm turning from virtual to solid, grabbing the clothes on his back and leaping up, landing steadily on the sailboat's deck.

A large batch of treasure suddenly appeared on the ship. The few thugs on board stared at each other in confusion, and before they could communicate, they saw Luo Di board the ship.

Luo Di put Ka Li Na down and smiled: "Sorry, this ship has been requisitioned."

"Kill!" The thugs swarmed up, but Star Platinum hammered them all into the sea in an instant.

Only the two of them were left on the ship.

The sea breeze whistled, and Ka Li Na's purple hair fluttered. She said excitedly: "Captain, hurry and pull the anchor. I'll lower the sails. The wind direction is just right; we're setting sail!"

Luo Di was just about to have Star Platinum pull the anchor when suddenly, a bang-bang sound came from afar. Looking in the direction of the sound, several black dots moved from far to near, rapidly enlarging.

"It's cannonballs, be careful!" Ka Li Na shouted.

Luo Di suddenly raised his hand, and Star Platinum instantly grabbed a long sword and a steel pipe from the deck, throwing them fiercely at the cannonballs in the air.

Bang, bang, bang, bang!

Four cannonballs detonated in the air, smoke filled the sky, and just as several shipyard personnel were preparing to continue firing cannonballs, they were suddenly hammered to the ground by an invisible force.

In their eyes, a crate of cannonballs flew up automatically, and then one was taken out.

The old Mayor's Butler had just arrived at the port, intending to find Hanke to claim credit. He was unusually excited today; he had been a butler at the old Mayor's villa for over ten years and had long since grown tired of being ordered around.

He would never forget that one night, when he returned to his room and wanted to have a deep conversation with his beautiful wife, she twistedly told him, "The Mayor does not allow you to touch me, I'd better go to the room next door."

Later, Hanke approached him, and he chose to defect to Hanke without a second thought, gradually sidelining the old Mayor who was on good terms with Colonel Jige, until today.

"Smash them for me!"

Luo Di roared, his palm waving, and Star Platinum took the cannonballs and smashed them toward the shipyard personnel at the port. Explosions rang out, kicking up bursts of dust.

The Butler had wanted to bring people over to support, but before he could even fire his gun, he was submerged by the cannonballs.

Next, he brought the remaining cannonballs onto the deck.

The anchor had been hauled up, and once the canvas sails were lowered, they were immediately billowed by the sea breeze.

"Ya-hahahahaha, we're setting sail, Ka Li Na," Luo Di laughed wantonly.
