Chapter 57: Permanent Log Pose

~7 min read 1,373 words

The crew members were very surprised that someone had paid for them in advance. It was their first time on this island, and they hadn't heard of having any friends in the Grand Line, let alone the fact that the meal cost for so many people certainly wasn't low; it was clear the other party was extremely generous.

"Luo Di, do you know who paid for us?" Ka Li Na asked.

Luo Di shook his head: "I don't know, but we should find out soon."

"What a strange person," Lu Xi Ya laughed.

"Could it be that they heard of our reputation and are trying to curry favor with us?" Gai Ou asked, puzzled.

"There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world; every gift has already been marked with a price in the dark," Luo Di said calmly.

"Ah?" Ka Li Na said: "What if the price is too high?"

"Then we flip the table, of course. You don't think I'd actually pay it, do you? Ya-hahahaha," Luo Di laughed wantonly.

"Alright, everyone go do your shopping first. Each team will be equipped with a Den Den Mushi; contact us if there are any issues, and we will gather at this restaurant in the evening."

Under Luo Di's orders, the crew members began to disperse into the town to purchase supplies and the items they each needed. Ka Li Na began to let the log pose accumulate magnetic force. Since they needed to stay for a few days this time, Luo Di planned to go to the nearby forest to cultivate.

Not long after he walked out, a figure suddenly appeared in front of him.

It was a man in a suit, who said: "Our boss would like to have a chat with you."

Luo Di walked up to him, and then... walked right past him.

"Hey, stop!"

Boom!

No sooner had the man in the suit finished speaking than he was knocked over by an invisible fist into a trash can, landing headfirst inside.

Luo Di continued forward as if nothing had happened. Before long, another figure appeared in front of him.

A familiar person appeared before his eyes. A flash of surprise crossed Luo Di's eyes, but it immediately returned to normal. He looked at the Robin in front of him and smiled: "It's you."

There was no sense of strangeness at all, as if he had met an old friend.

"You know me?" Confusion filled Robin's eyes.

"What do you want with me?" Luo Di asked.

In his impression, at this point in the timeline, Robin should have only recently met the Straw Hat Pirates. Why was she appearing here now? Could it be that she was coming for him?

The other party didn't show the surprise she had expected, but instead acted as if she had seen an acquaintance. This left Robin feeling incredibly puzzled, but since her goal was to first understand the Blood Calamity, now that they had met, she should prepare for subsequent in-depth matters.

Robin smiled enchantingly, maintaining her mysterious posture, and said in a clear, sexy voice: "Ara, if you know me, then I won't introduce myself. How about we go to my place and chat, Blood Calamity?"

"I just provoked the Navy recently, so I'm very busy," Luo Di said: "I'm going to the forest on the coast to cultivate now. If you want to chat, you can follow me."

After speaking, Luo Di suddenly teleported in front of Robin and whispered something in her ear.

Robin's figure froze instantly, and she turned her head quickly.

Luo Di had already walked far away.

Not long after Luo Di arrived in the woods, Robin followed. Her expression this time was completely different from before; she had lost her initial composure and was instead filled with shock and disbelief, along with an intense craving.

"You've come," Luo Di said calmly, his back to Robin.

"Mm," Robin nodded, her alluring eyes filled with a thirst for knowledge.

"You shouldn't have come."

Robin:?

She walked quickly to Luo Di and said urgently: "How do you know that name?"

"Not only do I know his name, I also know where he is," Luo Di replied.

"He is already dead. I saw it with my own eyes, and I... could do nothing," Robin's eyes revealed sorrow.

"He isn't. He and Aokiji were originally good buddies; Aokiji spared his life," Luo Di said.

Speaking of which, why does this name keep appearing in my head? He wouldn't suddenly show up riding a bicycle, would he... Luo Di muttered to himself.

Hearing this, the astonishment in Robin's eyes could no longer be hidden. At the time, only the three of them were at the scene, and the other residents on the island had already been destroyed in the Buster Call. This man was like God, clearly knowing everything that happened at that time.

This exceeded the scope of her thinking.

Luo Di continued: "If you want to go, then get on my ship. I know you are currently working for Crocodile, but that guy hasn't had his original edge since being defeated by Whitebeard in the New World."

"He is trying to use you to get clues about Pluton, just to control Alabasta and realize his ambition of dominating the 'Le Yuan'. The person you are looking for is not here; he is where I am going."

Robin said: "Where you are going... the New World?"

"I will stay here until sunset. This is the time you have to consider."

After Luo Di finished speaking, his wings unfurled with a swish, and he flew rapidly toward the valley.

In the evening, the crimson setting sun hung on the horizon, and the evening glow wound like a brilliant piece of silk.

Luo Di walked out of the valley, the scarlet in his eyes gradually receding, and his pupils returned to normal.

Robin was still waiting there.

Luo Di said: "Have you considered it?"

"Mm," Robin nodded: "Please take me to the New World."

"That goes without saying. Let's go."

After Luo Di finished speaking, he took long strides toward the agreed-upon town. Robin followed closely behind him. When the two walked into the restaurant, it was already full of people, but the table was clean, as if they were waiting for Luo Di to arrive before ordering.

"Luo Di!" Ka Li Na waved excitedly when she saw Luo Di enter the door.

Suddenly, she caught sight of a woman following Luo Di and immediately frowned. After Luo Di sat down, she said with a vigilant look: "Luo Di, who is this woman?"

Luo Di said: "Let me introduce her to everyone. Her name is Nico Robin. She is an archaeologist, our new partner, and also a Devil Fruit Ability User."

Hearing the words "Devil Fruit Ability User," the other crew members no longer had any contempt in their eyes, replaced by a bit of awe. After all, the only Ability User in their pirate crew right now was Luo Di. Except for Ka Li Na, the others had only heard of Devil Fruits and had never actually seen one.

After finishing the meal, Luo Di lit a cigar and looked at Robin: "Do you still have the permanent log pose?"

"Mm," Robin nodded and took a log pose out of her pocket. Its shape was similar to Ka Li Na's log pose, but the needle only pointed to one place and did not move.

She had brought two log poses when she set out, one of which had already been destroyed by Lu Fei.

"Wow, where does this point to?" Ka Li Na asked in surprise.

"Alabasta," Robin said with a smile, handing it to Luo Di.

Luo Di took it, passed it to Ka Li Na, and then said, "Now that we have a permanent log pose, let's head to Alabasta at a leisurely pace."

After meeting Robin, he already had a plan; his plan to sail slowly and cultivate remained unchanged, and he temporarily set their destination as Alabasta. Although it was very chaotic there right now, as the largest country, there were certainly many nobles to rob, and he could make a huge haul.
