Chapter 58: New Bounties, Haigu Zhi Hou (Please Follow)
With the Eternal Pose, Luo Di did not stay on this island for too long; he set sail the next morning, continuing to advance toward the next island.
This island was still a long distance from Alabasta, with many islands to pass in between. Since he needed supplies, Luo Di intended to stick to his original plan: stop at any island with a population, as it was a good chance to see if there were any fortuitous encounters.
Ka Li Na took Robin to her room, and the others began their free time after putting the supplies away.
Not long after the ship set sail, a News Coo flew over in the sky.
After paying, Ka Li Na received the newspaper, which contained several new Bounties.
"Ah!"
Ka Li Na shouted in panic.
"What's wrong, Ka Li Na?" Lu Xi Ya asked with confusion.
"Y-you... look!" Ka Li Na handed the newspaper to Lu Xi Ya.
Lu Xi Ya studied it carefully, surprise appearing in her eyes. Luo Di walked over, and Lu Xi Ya handed the newspaper to him.
Luo Di took the newspaper.
The headline featured him; his bounty had increased from 60 million to 150 million. Besides him, there were bounties for several other crew members.
"Iron Face" Xiao En, bounty 12 million.
"Evil Shark" Gai Ou, bounty 16 million.
"Little Fox" Ka Li Na, bounty 8 million.
"Finally got a bounty!" Holding the Bounty, Xiao En's hands could not stop trembling; he was incredibly excited. He felt he was slowly becoming famous alongside Luo Di, which was supreme glory to him.
"Hahaha, now my mother will be able to see it!" Gai Ou laughed loudly.
"Why am I, A Nuo, not being hunted!!!" A Nuo roared at the sky, his face full of defiance.
"You need to have powerful strength to have a chance; you aren't enough yet," Pa Lu, who was to the side, said.
"Hmph, you're the same, and you have the nerve to talk about me, A Nuo!" A Nuo said disdainfully.
Pa Lu curled his lips, pulled a Bounty out of his pocket, and handed it to A Nuo. The moment A Nuo took it in confusion, Pa Lu turned around instantly, leaving him with only a sturdy back.
The Bounty depicted his figure with arms raised, and below it was written—Krieg Pirates, Iron Wall Pa Lu, bounty 10 million.
"No—"
A Nuo's roar echoed across the entire deck. The crew members cheered when they saw the bounties, as this meant their pirate crew's fame was growing larger and larger.
Only Ka Li Na held her forehead, slumped on Lu Xi Ya's shoulder with a look of despair: "Why am I being hunted too? It's miserable!"
A few days later, the ship arrived at the next island.
This island was composed of pale giant bones. Before even landing, one could see many shipwrecks and white bones along the coast. Thick fog permeated the surroundings, making it look like a graveyard for sailors.
Ka Li Na said worriedly: "Luo Di, this place doesn't look like a good spot. Anyway, we have an Eternal Pose now, so let's just go straight to the next island."
"This is Giant Bone Island, known as the 'Haigu Zhi Hou'. It is said to be the skeleton of a giant monster from hundreds of years ago. Pirates often land here; perhaps we can find some valuable items." The one speaking was Robin.
Hearing the words "valuable," Ka Li Na's eyes lit up immediately: "Then let's take a look; it would be great if there's treasure."
No sooner had she finished speaking than a group of figures suddenly walked out from the thick fog. They held various weapons and, without a word, charged toward Luo Di's group.
Robin took a step forward, blocking in front of Luo Di, and crossed her arms: "Two-Wheel Flower Bloom: Gallows."
Fair, smooth arms suddenly sprouted from the shoulders of the first group of people who rushed over. They twisted their necks fiercely, and with a 'Crack!', the group in front all fell and died.
Seeing this scene, the opponents stopped immediately, looking at Robin in panic.
"We are the Barton Pirates, and this is our territory now. Who are you?" the leader asked.
"Fellow travelers," Luo Di laughed: "Why don't you join me? Ya hahahaha."
"You're courting death!" a pirate roared.
Boom!
The moment he finished speaking, his entire body suddenly flew backward, smashing into many of his companions behind him. The group was scattered, and the man who had spoken had his head drooping, lifeless.
"How rude," Luo Di maintained his smile: "You all come at me together."
"Ora ora ora ora!"
The pirates were panicked and dared not advance. Star Platinum had already leaped out, and under the fierce assault of his fists, this batch of pirates all fell.
Is this his ability? It is indeed very strong; no wonder he dares to talk about going to the New World... Robin thought to herself.
After dealing with these pirates, Luo Di led the team to continue advancing into the interior of Giant Bone Island.
"Lord Barton, we have stayed on this island for a week, and the magnetism is fully charged." Inside a room piled with bones, the navigator of the Barton Pirates said respectfully.
Barton was a tall, muscular middle-aged man. He sat on the Bone Throne, holding two scantily clad, sexy women in his arms, with another lying on his lap. A mysterious liquid still remained at the corner of his mouth.
"Roar hahahaha, this place is really not bad. If it weren't for wanting to become the Pirate King and find that guy Roger's treasure, I would really want to stay here," Barton laughed loudly: "Alright, tell them to get ready to set off."
At this moment, another subordinate said: "But... Lord Barton, we only just arrived at the Grand Line and already encountered such a powerful opponent. The two thousand crew members we brought are already down to half. Perhaps we should..."
Bang!
Before he could finish speaking, a gunshot rang out.
White smoke rose from the muzzle of the Flintlock in Barton's hand. He said coldly: "It's only just begun, you bastard. It was just a brat who ate a strange fruit; I'll definitely kill him next time. Whoever dares to say discouraging words again will end up just like him!"
Before they landed on Giant Bone Island, they had a conflict with another pirate crew. The opposing captain had flowing blonde hair, iconic six vertical stripes on his forehead, a black cross tattooed on his Adam's apple, and always maintained a melancholic expression on his face.
Their crew's strength was not high. At first, they relied on numbers to suppress the opposing pirate crew, but their captain was extremely mysterious. Barton had thought he had killed him many times, yet the opponent would come back to life again.
It was as if he could never be killed.
Finally, the opponent drew a card, and his momentum surged instantly. A giant scarecrow appeared, like a monster summoned from another dimension, killing them until they were completely routed. They eventually fled with injuries and arrived at this island.
Seeing a companion die, the other pirates lowered their heads one after another, not daring to make a sound.
"Captain Barton, pirates are attacking!" a guard subordinate shouted.
Barton's expression tightened. He casually threw the woman in his arms onto the ground, leaned forward slightly, and a transparent shockwave was generated under his feet. His whole body rushed out like a cannonball, directly breaking through the bone wall and arriving outside.
"Kill!"
Outside, the sounds of battle were already everywhere. The Blood Calamity Pirates had already reached this place. Barton looked at Luo Di's group, endless killing intent rising in his eyes.
He had already failed once, and many of the crew members were already wavering in their hearts, only daring not to speak out due to the oppressive might of Ba Dun; he understood that he urgently needed a victory now to stabilize his authority.
Now that a group of pirates had arrived, it was just the thing to achieve his goal.
It seems the Goddess of Luck is still on my side!
