______Walking with Love Part Sixty-Nine
Besides Quyuan, at the riverbank, he had been wandering for a long time, thinking for a long time, waiting for a long time: Am I wrong? Or are others wrong? He longs for the world's understanding, the vast river waters, the Classic of Poetry person's thoughts also vast――――
The heart's melancholy worries, alas; alone, forever sighing, adding to sorrow.
Gazing at the vast river waters, alas; the night stretches endlessly.
Looks like Quyuan stayed awake all night, thinking by day and night. The Classic of Poetry person's heart, alas, melancholy worries knotted the intestines; alone sighing by the riverbank, the vast river waters, alas, further increase the Classic of Poetry person's sorrow――――
The world doesn't understand me, treating pearls as mud pills; in this deep dark night, I don't know to whom I should pour out my heart?
Villains ostracize me, leaders mock and attack me; I truly want to flee to another place!
Thinking of traveling in all directions, the road is vast; my heart gains even more sorrow……
Let's sing to the heavens, to release the heart's unrest and sorrow……
I wholeheartedly serve the country and the people, alas; why then am I slandered and defamed?
I give my heart, my mind, my strength, fulfill my duties and responsibilities, alas; why then am I ostracized and exiled?
Is there still heavenly principle, alas? The heavenly way is unjust, alas!
Lu Xun said anger produces poets; this statement seems somewhat reasonable. When a person encounters something not to their liking on the Dao, they like to indulge in wild imaginings. Especially those with a bit of culture, who know a few characters, have read a few days of Classic of Documents.
This Quyuan is a typical example.
He thought from the human world to heaven, from the present to ancient times. Thinking and thinking, the Classic of Poetry person actually expressed doubt about the cosmic chaos of creation, heavenly bodies, geographical structure, and the movement of the sun, moon, and stars______
What was the situation in ancient times? Who recorded those legends? Heaven and earth had not yet formed; what was the basis? Day and night were not distinguished, a vast murky chaos—who could record it clearly?
The universe is filled with chaotic qi; this formless image, how can we discern it? Yin and yang intertwine, nurturing all things, yet what is the source of yin and yang? Why do they change?
Heaven has nine layers; who built it? Who calculated it? Such a colossal project—who bears its labor cost?
Heaven—who originally designed it? Who has such a grand hand, such a broad mind?
As for the sun, moon, and stars in heaven, who hung them there? Why don't they fall? Where is the support of the celestial pole? People say heaven is held up by eight pillars; where are those eight pillars?
Why is the terrain in the southeast low? How are the nine aspects of heaven connected? The celestial bodies are so vast—who can know the number of stars upon them?
That sun rises in the east each morning and sets in the west each evening; in a day, how far does it travel? Year after year, age after age, it does the same thing, follows the same route—is it ultimately weary?
That moon—why does it wax and wane, wane and wax?
