You say: I am wealthy, have acquired riches, and lack nothing; but you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked."

Lord, I do not understand what you mean: why, if one is neither cold nor hot, do you spit him out of your mouth? Isn't it fine to live this way? I say I am wealthy, but in fact I have no wealth; although I have wealth, I cannot find opportunities for it. Thus, living in this neither-cold-nor-hot way, I also like this weather that is neither cold nor hot, and people who are neither cold nor hot do things that are neither cold nor hot.

When I am hot, I am content with heat; when I am cold, I am content with cold.
