This pretty girl can speak.

February 14: This pretty girl can speak.

In fact, Daiyu, before leaving home, had already undergone strict training; in the creation of the world, there already were the 'Three Divine Pitchforks'. When Jia Mother asked her what books she had read at home, Daiyu replied: 'I have just read the Four Books.' Daiyu's answer, though seemingly casual, actually had profound meaning.

What are the Four Books? The Four Books are 'Great Learning, Doctrine of the Mean, Analects, Mengzi'. This is the 'Way' that scholars of all ages must follow. This Way is a 'difficult path to walk'. It makes many people 'feel their way up the ribs, sighing with hand on chest'.

Faced with such a 'harder than climbing to heaven' Shudao, Daiyu only said: 'I have just read the Four Books.'

It is clear that this girl is extraordinary, not an ordinary maiden: she is unconventional, has taste, has depth, has talent. No wonder people call her 'the flower's soul, poetry's bone, moon's essence', 'aloof and self-assured, free of dust', yet she has a 'graceful demeanor'.

You see her debut; though young in appearance, her conduct and speech are unconventional, she speaks in one coherent set after another, leaving people impressed and amazed.

When the Jia family's examiners, those judges, asked her 'What medicine do you regularly take? How can it not be cured?', you hear her say, so pleasant: 'I have always been like this' — calm and unhurried, responding with ease; 'Since I started eating, I have taken medicine' — having basis and continuation; 'Even now, after seeing so many doctors, there is still no effect.' Every sentence makes sense, with logical connections; 'That year I was only three years old' — forgetting things leisurely, making people's hearts churn; 'I remember a leprous-headed monk came, saying he wanted to make me become a monk' — my background is extraordinary, my fate full of tribulations, the road rocky; 'My parents certainly did not obey. He then said: "Since you are reluctant to let go", having giving yields gain; 'giving' and 'gain' are mutually related.

Laozi said: 'If you want to shrink it, you must first expand it; if you want to weaken it, you must intentionally strengthen it; if you want to eliminate it, you must intentionally befriend it; if you want to seize it, you must intentionally give it.' This is called a subtle strategy.

Daiyu's parents, possibly never having read Laozi, therefore do not understand life's secret, letting their daughter suffer, wasting her youthful years, tormenting her future splendid prospects.

Still, let Daiyu continue speaking.

Daiyu, you continue speaking.

She said: 'If one wants to be good, unless from now on one is not allowed to see any crying sounds, except for one's parents, all external relatives must not be seen, then this life can be settled.' This life is indeed very difficult; the difficulty lies in having to treat 'outsiders' as 'relatives', and among these 'outsiders', it is hard to judge who are 'relatives'. Therefore, Daiyu says that the leprous-headed monk's words 'crazy crazy' are 'offhand remarks', and no one pays attention to him.

You hear, Daiyu's speech is very moving; all the judges in the Jia mansion ……
