Classic of Poetry person, ah, do not keep silent

April 7: Classic of Poetry person, ah, do not keep silent

「Classic of Poetry person, ah!」

Stop keeping silent;

That which cannot be written,

「That is absolute beauty. 」 I don't know what the Classic of Poetry person's words mean. Some say the Classic of Poetry person is the voice vessel and horn of the age. Since it is a "sound vessel" and a "horn", how can it be called a sound vessel and horn if it makes no sound? A horn should produce sound. Whether that sound is hoarse or loud.

In short, we cannot keep silent.

「That which cannot be written, is absolute beauty, 」 That which cannot be written, is simply invisible and inaudible. What kind of beauty is that which is invisible and inaudible?

Beauty ought to have sound, color, taste, and form. When mountains, rivers, trees, flying birds and beasts, morning mist, evening clouds, blossoming flowers, green grass like a carpet…… these beautiful things enter our field of vision, if we remain silent and make no sound, is our life not too numb?

Of course, besides natural beauty in this world, there is also human beauty and the beauty humans create.

A person who cannot distinguish good from evil also cannot distinguish beauty from ugliness. Laozi once said: 「All under heaven know beauty as beauty, then ugliness arises; all know goodness as goodness, then not-goodness arises. 」 Laozi's meaning is: when the people of the world know beauty, ugliness arises; when the people know goodness, evil arises.

Of course, objectively, it is not exactly as Laozi said: the ugliness in this world is not necessarily produced because beauty arises; perhaps beauty and ugliness arise simultaneously, perhaps ugliness arises even earlier than beauty,

For example, in the ancient times of the primordial wilderness, at that time 「The earth is empty and chaotic, the abyss dark」; 「The vast floodwaters divide, the vast Huai? Ling, mighty and overwhelming, the people bear guilt. 」 In that primordial ancient era of the wilderness, the surging, roaring floodwaters encircled the great mountains, rushed toward the heavens, the water's force reached its extreme, simply covering the sky and blocking the sun. All the people of the world sighed and worried about the flood. Where, then, is beauty?

But, Laozi said that beauty and ugliness, good and evil are opposites unified, which is indeed true. When people know what beauty is, they also know what ugliness is; when they know what goodness is, they also know what evil is.

That beauty and ugliness, goodness and evil, are always relative.

Therefore, in life, when we appreciate beauty, do not forget that beauty is relative to ugliness; this world is not entirely beautiful; likewise, when you praise goodness, this world still has evil. Therefore, I want to say――――

「Classic of Poetry person, ah!」

Do not keep silent;

Please put the things around you――――

Beauty and ugliness

Goodness and evil

With your pen
