Chapter 902: , the demon shouted loudly
Chapter 7o4, the demon shouted loudly.
Last time the Classic of Documents said that the demon of Pingdingshan, hearing that a Sun Wukong had come again outside the cave, went to the cave mouth to demand his master and junior fellow disciples.; "Brothers, don't be afraid. We have treasures in hand, namely the monkey demons of Huaguo Shan all coming, what do we have to fear? Aren't we in possession of the Jade Pure Bottle, Red Gourd, and Golden Hoop Rope?"
The great demon, after hearing the second demon say that, felt assured and relaxed.
Then the second demon walked out of the cave.
Outside the cave, there indeed was a monkey head that looked much like the captured Sun Wukong, waiting for his arrival.
The second demon said: "Which mountain's monkey dares to shout outside the cave? Disturbing my drinking interest."
Sun Wukong said: "I come from the original home of Sun Wukong of Huaguo Shan in the East Holy Divine Land. My younger brother Sun Wukong, having been sent by the South Sea Bodhisattva of Compassion and acting upon the Jade Emperor's decree, went to the Western Heaven to seek scriptures; passing through your territory, he was intercepted, captured, and detained by you. I have come specially today to rescue him. Demon, listen well: if you release my younger brother and his disciples, all will be well. If you utter a single 'no,' then do not blame me, the old Sun, for being impolite."
The second demon laughed and said: "Bold monkey, how dare you speak to me like this! You're courting death."
Sun Wukong also laughed and said: "Bold demon, my younger brother Sun Wukong once wielded the Golden Hooped Staff and caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace, making everyone tremble with fear—have you forgotten? I am his elder brother. My abilities surpass even his."
The demon said: "That Sun Wukong once caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace. Everyone knows this; no one is unaware. But that was just a thing of the past. Old generals don't talk about past bravery. The rivers and mountains continually produce talented people. You speak of your younger brother Sun Wukong's bravery, how brave he was—that was just a thing of the past. What about now?"
Sun Wukong said: "Then how is he now?"
The demon said: "He is not now captured by me and hung in the cave. Monkey head, you claim to be the eldest of the Huaguo Shan Sun Wukong. You must be far smarter than that Sun Wukong. As the saying goes, a bachelor doesn't suffer immediate loss. Hurry back to your Huaguo Shan and lead your monkey brothers to joy and happiness. Otherwise, the fate of your younger brother will be your eyeshade."
Sun Wukong, having heard the demon's words, laughed and said: "Demon, what tricks do you have? Bring them out quickly. Don't boast and talk big. Don't provoke the old Sun's anger."
The demon also laughed and said: "Monkey head, if I lacked true ability and good tactics, how could I dare to speak big in front of you? I am worried for you: your younger brother Sun Wukong has been captured by me. If you are also captured, it would be a small matter of losing face for the two brothers, but for your Huaguo Shan to have no leader—that would be a major issue."
Sun Wukong laughed and said: "Demon, don't pretend to be something you're not. Today I want to see what abilities you have. Let's do this: I'll let you have a few moves. If you defeat me, I'll just stop here. If you can't defeat me, then you must quickly release the person. How about that?"
The demon said: "All right! Is it a deal?"
Sun Wukong said: "Demon, when have I ever not kept my word? Just make your move!"
The demon said: "Aren't you the eldest of the Huaguo Shan Sun Wukong?"
Sun Wukong said: "Demon, I've already told you several times. No need to ask again! How are you like this? Huh?"
The demon said: "Sun Lao Da, your master and junior fellow disciples have all been captured and are now locked in the cave. Upstanding people do not do covert deeds. I, the demon, have always acted boldly and taken responsibility. You coming today from Huaguo Shan surely means you want a life‑and‑death battle with me. I will not treat you as an ordinary opponent. I only call you Sun Lao Da; if you dare to agree to me, I will release the person. If you dare not agree to me, then you will be my grandson, willingly captured—how about that?"
Sun Wukong thought to himself: "This demon must be up to some trick again? Perhaps he's using that Red Gourd to trap me? I must be careful."
The demon saw Sun Wukong standing there dazed, thought he had been frightened, and laughed: "Monkey head, you've got the guts, huh? Then hurry back to Huaguo Shan!"
Sun Wukong said: "Demon, you look down on people, thinking I, the old Sun, am insignificant. If you lack even the courage to agree, would I still cross mountains and rivers from Huaguo Shan, travel a thousand miles to settle scores with you? Even if you called me a thousand times, I would still dare to agree. Demon, do as you wish."
The demon said: "Sun Lao Da, since you say that, then I won't hold back."
Sun Wukong said: "Then make your move—I won't regret it."
The demon, hearing Sun Wukong say that, then employed his tactics, brought out his abilities, leapt into the clouds, took out the Red Gourd from his bosom, opened the lid, aimed the mouth at Sun Wukong, and shouted loudly……………………..
