Chapter 775: 763 My Boss Personally Does It

~6 min read 1,176 words

Xie Yiren's Volvo XC60 hadn't arrived yet, so everyone hailed two cars and rushed all the way to 912 Hospital.

Going back and forth like this is worse than just waiting at the hospital, Zheng Ren thought.

But there was no choice; seeing Wu Xiaomei's state, Zheng Ren could picture Zheng Yunxia sitting outside the window.

Never mind the hassle—thankfully it's simple, just a B‑scan; as long as I know what I'm doing, it's fine.

Once I'm done, I'll go home and rest properly.

I only slept one night, my whole body aches terribly, and Zheng Ren hasn't fully recovered yet.

To get back to normal, it'll take at least ten days to half a month.

Arriving at 912, six people bustled about, a large entourage of relatives and friends.

"You wait outside, I'll go in first to check the situation," Su Yun said. "They said Director Qi will come after dinner tonight, so don't all show up together."

Zheng Ren knew this was sneaking an advantage, but it mustn't be made public.

He still wanted to change clothes, but Su Yun looked down on him.

Su Yun could swagger around 912 just on her looks; when would she ever need to wear a white coat?

Zheng Ren was aware of this himself.

Arriving at the ultrasound room, Wu Xiaomei and the others waited outside; Su Yun knocked on the door.

"Wait a moment; when it's done they'll call your number, then you can come in," a voice from inside said.

"It's me," Su Yun said.

"Yun Ge'er, wait for me, female patient."

Su Yun shrugged and stood at the doorway.

It was already quitting time; still not leaving meant the work wasn't finished.

No one was queuing outside; it looked like the doctors inside were about to get off work too.

"Still not going home this late?" Zheng Ren wondered.

"This place is much more reasonable than Hai Cheng," Su Yun leaned against the wall and said, "Daytime ultrasounds are official duty—one hundred per person per day; anything extra is overtime, and the hospital pays for each one."

"Yeah, that's definitely better than Hai Cheng," Zheng Ren said.

At Haicheng Shi Yiyuan, when patients pile up like mountains, even overtime is considered voluntary service; a few dozen yuan in overtime pay can't motivate anyone.

Wanting to quit and leave is understandable.

Once a critical point is reached, someone will notice this, and then doctors' lives can improve—no longer having to scrape by on over three thousand yuan a month.

Zheng Ren knows this, but he's just a junior doctor, powerless to change anything. Having left that place, he doesn't want to think about it anymore. He also doesn't know how much 912 could pay him a month—could it be tens of thousands?

Zheng Ren pondered, and the more he thought, the farther his mind wandered.

After a while, the patient came out, and Su Yun pushed the door and entered.

"Yun Ge'er, hurry up—Director Qi just called, saying he's coming," the doctor inside, about thirty‑something and clearly familiar with Su Yun, said.

Su Yun's ability in this regard impressed Zheng Ren.

Sure, his mouth is sharp, but friends… acquaintances are everywhere. Zheng Ren knows that even if he lived another lifetime, he could never know this many people.

"Let me introduce: this is Doctor Han Tianjiao of ultrasound, and this is my boss, Zheng Ren," Su Yun said.

What a handsome name!

Zheng Ren reached out, smiled, and said, "Pleasure to meet you."

"You're Yun Ge'er's little boss, huh—I'm the honored one," Han Tianjiao bowed his waist slightly and said politely, "After the Wang Lin incident, I've been thinking about finding time to treat you to a meal and get to know you, this benefactor of yours. But you left early, so this time…"

"Director Kong transferred my boss here," Su Yun said.

Han Tianjiao's pupils contracted. Though no strong light shone, a pupillary light reflex appeared.

Zheng Ren almost felt the neurons in Han Tianjiao's tegmentum rapidly transmitting signals to the pretectal area, causing the oculomotor nerve to show a reflex.

"From now on we'll be colleagues," Han Tianjiao forced a smile hiding his surprise and said.

"Who says we're colleagues? After you graduate, whether you can stay is still uncertain," Su Yun spoke frankly, and Han Tianjiao burst into tears.

"Cut the nonsense, hurry up and get the exam," Su Yun waved, and Zhou Jinxi and Wu Xiaomei walked over.

Two 1.8‑meter‑tall beauties swayed over, normally a pleasure to behold, but they'd trained so hard they treated the place like a concert stage, exuding an aura… the key is their height, which puts huge pressure on Han Tianjiao.

"So tall," Han Tianjiao swallowed.

"Besides, they're really good‑looking—both of them."

"Who needs the exam?" Han Tianjiao asked.

"Get out of the way, it's not your turn for the exam," Su Yun snapped without hesitation, "My boss is here—he'll do it himself."

"…" Han Tianjiao stared, "Yun Ge'er, we're not joking."

"Who's joking with you?" Su Yun frowned at Han Tianjiao, "Are you good‑looking? I'm joking with you. This is a member of a Modu girl group—I can't even get in. If you did, once the group blows up you'll go out spouting nonsense—would you still be human?"

"A girl group, no wonder." Han Tianjiao looked enviously and resentfully at Zheng Ren leading the two inside, and muttered, "Yun Ge'er, Boss Zheng really can do ultrasounds."

"Of course—you've only studied ultrasound a few years; you can barely read a thread," Su Yun said matter‑of‑factly.

"I'm also a professional ultrasound doctor; I heard Boss Zheng isn't an imaging specialist. I guess he only touched ultrasound during school and internship," Han Tianjiao protested.

"My boss is a general surgery specialist," Su Yun said expressionlessly. "Over there they're considering breast cancer, and my boss has a different opinion. Dare you casually dismiss Modu's view?"

"…" Han Tianjiao sweated.

"The boss looks at the ultrasound report's image data and thinks it's more likely a cholesterol granuloma."

"…" Han Tianjiao pondered cholesterol granuloma, his heart chilled. Confirming this change requires ultrasound, and it's not easy.

He sneaked a glance inside, pulled the curtain, saw nothing. But just looking that way, he felt he could learn something.

"Don't embarrass yourself—back when I was in Hai Cheng, a general surgeon got suspended over this," Su Yun smirked and said.

"What happened?"

"Two girls went to check hyperplasia; the sick girl wasn't pretty, but her best friend who came along was supposedly gorgeous. That general surgeon, a lecher, after checking told the pretty girl, 'I'll give you a look too—no need to register.'"(Note 1)

"......" Han Tianjiao said angrily, "This kind of person should have been suspended long ago."

"I'm talking to you." Su Yun said: "What are you looking around for?"

"I'm a professional!"

"My boss is more professional than you; cholesterol granuloma—I just don't believe you can see it clearly."

"Oh? Cholesterol granuloma? Is the diagnosis clear?" A voice came from the doorway.

Note 1: Still a true story...... really speechless.
