Chapter 514: He Wants to Search on His Own
The police took William Quinn away.
He impatiently dropped Walker Grant’s name, and someone quickly arrived to handle the situation.
Dylan Finch came in person, his attitude extremely respectful. "Mr. Quinn, everything’s been taken care of. You can leave with me now."
William Quinn’s blue eyes blazed with fury. "Where’s Walker Grant? I want to see him!"
"Please follow me," Dylan Finch said.
The CEO’s office at Grant Group.
William Quinn threw open the office door, rushed up to Walker Grant, and slammed both hands on the desk. "Have you found her or not?!" he demanded.
Walker Grant, his long, elegant fingers wrapped around a fountain pen, slowly lifted his sharp eyes. He regarded him coolly. "Not yet."
"You!"
William Quinn was furious. He struggled to contain his anger, saying, "I saw her today. On the same road as my accident. I want to see the surveillance footage for that road—all of it. We’ll definitely be able to see which car she was in!"
At that, Walker Grant raised a slight eyebrow. "Are you sure?"
"I’m sure!"
William Quinn wasn’t about to let any opportunity slip by.
Walker Grant called Dylan Finch in and gave him his instructions.
Then, Dylan Finch said, "Mr. Quinn, please come with me. The surveillance footage will be sent over shortly."
William Quinn glared at Walker Grant. "You’d better not be playing any tricks!"
"I want to help you find her as much as you do," Walker Grant said. "Why would I play any tricks?"
"Hmph. Liar!"
William Quinn didn’t believe a word he said.
He made up his mind. From now on, he would search for her himself.
It had been almost a month, yet he still couldn’t forget her. He had to find her!
Once the surveillance footage arrived, William Quinn hunched over a laptop and began watching, meticulously examining every clip, not letting a single suspicious vehicle slip by.
"..."
Dylan Finch returned to the office. "Mr. Grant," he reported, "a few seconds before Mr. Quinn’s accident, your wife’s car drove past."
After a pause, he added, "He must have seen Miss Iris Yates in her car. That’s likely what caused his accident."
Walker Grant hummed in acknowledgment. "Has that section of the video been dealt with?"
Dylan Finch nodded. "It’s been completely wiped."
"Good."
’Nathaniel Monroe and Iris Yates’s wedding was just around the corner. There was no way he could let William Quinn find Iris at a time like this.’
...
「At the hot pot restaurant.」
Iris Yates and Nathaniel Monroe sat together, with Iris playing the part of a shy, blissful bride-to-be, occasionally placing food onto Nathaniel’s plate.
Claire Monroe glanced at them, merely raising an eyebrow without comment. She then turned to Chloe Reed and asked, "Do you remember me? We’ve met once before."
Chloe Reed blinked in confusion. "Have we... met before?"
Claire Monroe smiled. "At your engagement party. But I only stayed for a little while before leaving, so it’s perfectly normal that you don’t remember."
’She had gone there looking for Julian Grant.’
’She had wanted to ask Julian why he was marrying Sunny Reed.’
He and Sunny Reed had married very suddenly. There hadn’t been a wedding, just a simple meal between their parents.
But when she saw Julian Grant and Sunny Reed standing together, she suddenly lost the heart to approach them.
’What was there to ask? They were already married. Going up to them now would just make her look pathetic, wouldn’t it?’
Claire Monroe reined in her emotions, a faint smile still playing on her lips.
An apologetic look crossed Chloe Reed’s face. "Sorry," she said, "I was probably too busy at the time and wasn’t paying attention."
"Don’t worry about it. That was years ago. We can just get to know each other now." Claire Monroe raised her glass and clinked it against Chloe’s. "So let’s have a proper introduction. I’m Claire Monroe. I’m happy we can be friends."
