Chapter 523: Chairman Luozi, I'm Not Here to Stop You

~6 min read 1,079 words

In front of the Macrocom Group's main gate, Huo La politely spoke to the guard at the entrance.

"Please report that Huo La has come to visit Chairman Luozi."

The guard glanced at him, his face full of impatience, and waved his hand dismissively.

"Go, go, go, what young fellow is this? Our Chairman is busy. For a whole month we haven't even seen anyone inside the company, let alone you; hurry up and leave."

Bilan behind him instantly couldn't hold back, laughing until he could barely straighten his back.

"Hahaha! Didn't you say that if you reported your name, Luozi would definitely meet you? Now you get a shut-door welcome!"

Paipa also stood nearby, stifling a laugh, silently watching the embarrassed Huo La.

Huo La helplessly touched the back of his neck and sighed.

"Fine, if the soft approach won't work, then only one method remains."

He raised his hand and tossed a Pokeball; a flash of light erupted, and a massive Kyurem suddenly appeared, standing before the Macrocom Group's gate.

Its dark, imposing form radiated overwhelming pressure, and the air in front of the gate instantly solidified.

The guard, whose attitude had just been arrogant, had his pupils contract sharply, staring dumbfounded, his mouth gaping open, unable to close for a long time.

"Divine Beast...?!"

Huo La's expression remained calm as he said lightly, "Now, could you report to Chairman Luozi that Huo La wishes to see him?"

The guard snapped back to his senses, his whole body tensed with fear, daring not a hint of negligence, his speech trembling.

"Wai—wait a moment! I'll go find Secretary Olivia right away to report! Immediately!"

…

Inside the Macrocom Group's luxurious reception room, Huo La lifted the teacup on the table, took a sip, and sighed helplessly.

Sure enough, it was a top-tier conglomerate that controlled an entire region; its rules were intricate, its hierarchy complex, and every aspect was fraught with trouble.

From the guard running to report to now, almost half an hour had passed.

Even though he had just displayed the Divine Beast Kyurem's pressure, no one came to receive them, so the three of them could only sit idly in the reception room, drinking water while waiting.

After sitting idle for several more minutes, the reception room's door finally was pushed open.

A woman with long golden hair, dressed in a crisp white professional suit, entered; she was Olivia, Luozi's personal Secretary.

Her cold gaze swept over the three, her tone icy and without a hint of warmth: "Chairman Luozi has agreed to meet you; follow me."

Huo La stood up and nodded, "Let's go."

The four entered the private freight elevator, which descended smoothly toward the group's deepest private area. The whole ride was silent; no one spoke, and the oppressive atmosphere made it hard to breathe.

Until the elevator came to a steady stop and the cabin doors slowly opened.

Olivia pointed toward the end of the corridor, her expression solemn and warning: "Chairman Luozi is in the innermost laboratory; you go in yourselves."

She paused, her gaze sharp on Huo La, and added coldly: "I don't know what your purpose is in seeking the Chairman, but I warn you—whoever dares to obstruct Chairman Luozi's ideals, I will spare no cost to completely eliminate the obstacle!"

After speaking, she turned and walked back into the elevator, the doors closed, and she left in an instant.

"What kind of person is that, so arrogant, what's there to be proud of?" Bilan looked at the closed elevator, his face full of dissent, muttering softly.

Huo La shook his head, suppressing his inner thoughts: "Ignore her; meeting Luozi first is the priority."

The three proceeded along the narrow corridor; just as they reached its end, the massive laboratory doors ahead automatically opened slowly.

A steady voice came from inside the laboratory: "Come in, Huo La."

Huo La took a deep breath, steadied his thoughts, and was the first to step into the laboratory, with Bilan and Paipa following closely.

The underground laboratory was spotless and impeccably tidy; its overall layout was much like any research lab he had seen, the only difference being that every piece of equipment here was ultra-precise, exuding a sense of cutting‑edge technology.

Luozi, dressed in a white lab coat, stood before a precise instrument, attentively adjusting and handling the equipment, his back showing dedication and focus.

"Huo La, come over."

Luozi didn't even turn his head, calling out casually, his attention still fixed on the instrument before him.

Huo La thought briefly, then stepped to his side and looked down at the instrument's screen.

At the core of the instrument, a small, dim piece of bone was fixed, trembling slightly and continuously emitting fine threads of special energy outward.

These faint energies were precisely captured and guided by the surrounding precise instruments, slowly channeling into a nearby giant‑battery‑like storage unit, continuously replenishing its power.

"What is this...?" Huo La's face showed puzzlement as he asked.

Luozi's tone carried an unmistakable pride and certainty: "This is a small piece of bone I stripped from Eternatus's body."

Upon hearing that, Huo La's mind was jolted, his face full of disbelief.

What level of being is Eternatus?

Even now, sealed and dormant, it is beyond the reach of ordinary people.

The fact that Luozi could extract a bone sample from it, such ability and audacity, was utterly outrageous.

Luozi then slowly withdrew his gaze, turned to Huo La, and with steadfast eyes said, "You've seen it with your own eyes; my experiment has proceeded flawlessly so far, with no errors. In other words, my line of thought has been correct from the start."

Huo La gradually recovered from his shock, instantly grasping Luozi's intention.

Luozi's lifelong goal is to solve the Energy Depletion Crisis that Galar will inevitably face after a thousand years.

The dormant Eternatus is his ultimate trump card for the future; he intends to harness its massive energy to completely eradicate Galar's energy hazards.

He deliberately let Huo La witness the experiment firsthand to showcase his research progress, dispel external objections, and demonstrate his resolve.

But Huo La's thoughts were completely different from what he had expected.

Huo La looked straight at Luozi, his tone sincere and earnest: "Chairman Luozi, I'm not here to stop you. On the contrary, having seen your research results with my own eyes, I think you're remarkable, and I truly believe your research will ultimately succeed."
