Chapter 349: Xi Duo Lan En, the Tribe!
The three rode on the back of the Red Ferocious Carp Dragon, cutting through the sky against the biting wind.
Shan Kui sat steadily on the broad body of the Ferocious Carp Dragon, couldn't help looking at Huo La ahead and asked curiously, "Huo La, where shall we go first? The Volcano, the dangerous forest, or Heart-Equal Lake?"
The Ferocious Carp Dragon's surrounding air currents swirled, keeping it steadily suspended in midair, bearing Huo La, Xiao Zhao and Shan Kui; the three, using its power, traversed the skies of Hisui.
Huo La slowly folded away the Ice Pillar Stone Tablet in his hand.
Recalling yesterday's journey, it was indeed as Bin Lian had said: the Snow Rock King's ice rock monster was deep in hibernation, completely unguarded.
After absorbing the Interdimensional Energy, Bin Lian handed the Stone Tablet directly to Huo La.
After the matter was settled, he said goodbye to Bin Lian this morning, set off with Xiao Zhao, and Shan Kui had joined on his own, saying he wanted to go out and see, and Huo La did not refuse.
After a moment of contemplation, Huo La mentally reviewed the entire terrain of the Hisui Region and calmly replied, "Starting from our current location, the logical route is first to Blowing Fire Island, then to Heart-Equal Lake, and finally to the dangerous forest of the Obsidian Fieldlands."
"Yay, then let's go to Blowing Fire Island first!" Shan Kui immediately raised his hand excitedly, eyes full of anticipation, "I've spent my whole life among icy mountains, never once gone to a Volcano; I've long wanted to see one!"
Xiao Zhao glanced at Shan Kui's excited demeanor, offered no objection, and simply nodded.
Huo La thought briefly, then said in a low voice, "Alright, then let's head to Blowing Fire Island first, to find the Pokemon that lies deep within the Volcano, guarding the Stone Tablet."
On the scorching Blowing Fire Island, lava churned and heat waves slammed into the face.
The Red Ferocious Carp Dragon spiraled down, slowly settling upon the lava battlefield awash in red.
Amid the flames, a blazing figure suddenly charged from afar, turning into a torrent of fire that rushed straight at Huo La's party.
It was the New Island King—Wind-speed Dog A2.
Sensing hostility, the Ferocious Carp Dragon instantly tensed, its scales flashing coldly, assuming a highly defensive combat stance, glaring coldly at the rapidly approaching Wind Speed Dog.
Huo La, however, calmly raised his hand, gently patted the Ferocious Carp Dragon's neck, and softly soothed, "Relax, it's A Er."
Receiving the command, the Ferocious Carp Dragon's fierce aura instantly dissipated, returning to calm.
In the next instant, the Wind Speed Dog leapt close, affectionately hopping, its warm large tongue constantly licking Huo La's face, full of joy.
"Alright, alright, A Er, stop for a moment, let me get up." Huo La laughed, wrapping around its sturdy neck, his eyes reflecting warm reunion.
At that moment, a composed footstep sounded from deep within the flames.
"I knew A Er would suddenly burst out; turns out you all arrived."
Gua Na walked slowly forward, her gaze gentle, calling to the Wind Speed Dog, "A Er, stop fooling around, let Huo La get up."
Only then did the Wind Speed Dog reluctantly shift aside, yet it still pressed its big head against Huo La's lower leg, clinging affectionately.
Huo La stood up, raised his hand to recall the Ferocious Carp Dragon, turned to Gua Na, his expression solemn and slightly apologetic, and said, "Sorry, Gua Na, coming to Blowing Fire Island this time, I have a matter to trouble you with."
Gua Na's gaze lightly swept over Huo La, Xiao Zhao and Shan Kui, her tone calm, "Let's go inside and discuss further."
The group moved onto the lava battlefield, into the Bright Stone House built by the Pearl Team.
As soon as they entered, a wave of heat slammed them; Shan Kui quickly and deftly shed his heavy Cold-Resistant Cloak, exclaiming in disbelief, "Ouch, this damned place is scorching!"
"This place is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with lava veins beneath; it's the exact opposite of the icy plains you've lived on for years," Gua Na said, handing over a cup of slightly cool tea.
Shan Kui took the cup, a bit surprised, "Eh? You know me?"
"Chunbai Dongtu, the Shan Kui Field Master of the Diamond Team," Gua Na said calmly, "We haven't met, but Bin Lian mentioned you to me."
Shan Kui instantly became interested, leaning in to ask, "Then… what did he say about me?"
Gua Na paused, then answered truthfully, "The former Field Master's only daughter, personality… introverted."
"Damn! That's the same assessment again!" Shan Kui's cheeks puffed with anger, fists clenched, indignant, "That damned Bin Lian, when I get back I'll have to give him a good beating!"
Gua Na shook her head helplessly, ignored the sulking Shan Kui, turned to Huo La, her expression becoming solemn, "Alright, tell me, you came specially, what do you want me to help you with?"
Huo La slowly set down the tea cup in his hand, his gaze calm and resolute, and said word by word, "I want to go to Volcano Crater Ci."
"Volcano Crater Ci?!" Gua Na's fingertips trembled sharply at the words, the tea cup nearly slipping from her hand; she froze, her expression suddenly turning grave, looking up at Huo La, "What are you going there for? That place is extremely perilous."
Huo La shrugged lightly, his tone candid, "There's no choice; a Pokemon dwells deep within the Volcano, and it carries the Stone Tablet I must obtain."
"Pokemon… Stone Tablet…" Gua Na murmured, a spark in her mind, then instantly realized, "You mean, could it be Xi Duo Lan En?"
"Sister Gua Na, you actually know!" Xiao Zhao exclaimed delightedly from beside.
Gua Na looked at the two, nodded slowly, "Of course I know. It's the legendary Pokemon that slumbers deep in magma, resembling a massive lava turtle."
"Turtle?" Shan Kui blinked, his face full of surprise.
"It only looks that way," Gua Na explained lightly.
She paused briefly, then continued, "Their clan has inhabited the Volcano Crater Ci for generations, forming a complete tribe. I never expected that they also hold ancient Stone Tablets in their hands."
"A tribe?" Huo La's heart jolted.
In the later ages he knew of, Xi Duo Lan En was extremely rare; even across all Volcanoes of the Pokemon World, only a handful could be found.
He never imagined that on Blowing Fire Island of the Xicui Era, an entire Xi Duo Lan En tribe existed.
"Exactly, it's a tribe," Gua Na affirmed, her gaze fixed on the scorching depths of the Volcano, "If the Stone Tablet truly lies in their hands, it must be guarded for generations by the tribe's leader."
