Chapter 546: Video Conference
The call was connected almost instantly.
On the other end of the receiver came a brief gasp of surprise, followed immediately by an uncontainable burst of joy; Bilan's voice was excited and hurried: "Huo La! Is that you? Are you okay?!"
Hearing the genuine joy and worry on the other side, Huo La felt a slight warmth in his chest and replied softly: "It's me, I'm fine, I'm still alive."
"Being alive is great! Where are you now? How's the situation?" Bilan's voice instantly took on a heavy urgency, full of concern.
Huo La raised his hand to rub his throbbing temples, smoothed his disheveled hair, suppressed the swirling emotions in his heart, and said in a low voice: "Things are very complicated on my side, hard to explain in one word. Putting myself aside, where are you now? Have you already gone to Unova?"
"Yes, I'm right here on the Unova Battlefield!"
Bilan replied immediately: "Since the meteor that fell from the sky hit you at the Hoenn Battlefield, a large number of Rocket Team members have appeared, and even many Team Aqua and Team Magma members have defected to the Rocket Team; the whole situation has become completely chaotic."
"We didn't dare stay long, we all withdrew to the League Headquarters. We never knew your exact situation, we thought you…"
She paused slightly, her tone turning a bit sour: "We thought, even if something really happened to you, we'd still protect this world for you, fulfill your last wish, so everyone rushed to Unova to join the battle."
Hearing the word "last wish" made Huo La's heart jerk; he quickly cut her off, unwilling to let the topic linger: "Let's not talk about that now; I have something critically important."
"You immediately help me contact Professor Oak and the Dan Di Alliance Leader, gather everyone; I have an urgent matter to discuss with all."
The situation is urgent; no delay can be tolerated.
On the other end, Bilan instantly sensed the gravity in his tone, showed no hesitation, and replied briskly: "Okay! I'll notify them right away!"
Half an hour later, the video conference started.
Huo La offered no concealment, laying out all the secrets in full.
He clearly informed everyone in front of the screen about the canonical Arceus reborn via the silver companion beast, the existence of Dark Arceus, and Sakaki's invitation for him to inherit the Rocket Team.
He chose to conceal entirely his own origins, the past of that other world, and Sakaki's motives.
To him, that world has long been a fleeting memory.
Everything he has now, all his bonds, remain in this Pokemon World.
Here, he has family, friends, comrades fighting side by side; he is already wholly belonging to this world as Huo La, and has never once thought of returning.
As Huo La's words finished, the entire conference livestream fell into dead silence.
The people on the screen wore varied expressions, faces full of shock and disbelief; everyone was completely upended by the staggering revelations.
This matter has already transcended regional disputes and factional opposition; it concerns the ultimate crisis of the Whole World's survival.
Everyone present remained silent.
For an event of this magnitude, they could not interject at all.
Throughout the whole meeting, only Professor Oak and Dande could make decisions.
The two delayed speaking, and the others fell into a tacit hush; the atmosphere in the vast conference room became extremely oppressive.
After the long silence, Dande slightly turned his head, looked at Professor Oak beside him, and passed his decisive gaze over.
Professor Oak understood, took a deep breath, looked toward Huo La on the screen with a solemn expression, and slowly spoke, breaking the dead silence: "Huo La, first tell us what's on your mind."
Huo La inhaled heavily, his gaze steady, and slowly gave his answer: "I intend to accept Sakaki's terms."
"Explain your line of reasoning in full," Professor Oak said seriously, his voice low.
"The reason is actually simple."
Leaning back in his seat, Huo La spoke in a tone so calm it bordered on cold, analyzing clearly: "Cooperating with Sakaki now is the only way for the League to quickly stabilize the situation and regain the Whole World's initiative, ending the war at the fastest speed and returning the world to normal."
"As for the Rocket Team's hidden threat, I plan to let another Sakaki rise again and take control of the Rocket Team."
Dande was startled by the words, stroked his chin and pondered: "You mean letting this world's Sakaki step out of the League and retake command of the Rocket Team?"
"Exactly." Huo La nodded decisively, "Given his nature and past experiences, once he holds power he will surely reorganize and suppress the Rocket Team's radical factions, and might even settle scores with those who betrayed him."
"Continue," Professor Oak said with a slight nod, indicating him to go on.
"And the greatest threat, Arceus."
Huo La's gaze deepened as he continued to map out the whole situation: "We can use this cooperation to gather all the forces of the Pokemon World, joining together to confront the canonical Arceus that is merging with the silver companion beast."
"If we succeed, the world will be completely stable. If we fail… there will be nothing left to worry about."
Everyone present understood the resolve in his words.
It is a full‑scale gamble: win and all things fall back into order; lose and everyone is annihilated.
Huo La did not pause, adding his judgment: "As for Dark Arceus and Sakaki's deal, I think there's no need to be overly wary."
"It stands in complete opposition to Arceus, which proves its purpose is not to destroy the world. Moreover, its deal with Sakaki definitely retains a fallback and reservation; it cannot truly grant Sakaki unconditional support."
This judgment stems from his understanding of Ma Shu Mu, and is the only confidence left in his heart.
In the end, the other side, like him, is a "old fellow" from the same place.
He always chooses to believe that deep down, the other also loves this Pokemon World and will not watch everything collapse helplessly.
