Chapter 2518
While he was staring, he actually lost his focus, feeling his eyes blur and his head spin. When he turned his head and looked up at the temple before him again, he saw five Daoist priests with different appearances had already walked out.
"Ah, Master Xuanzang, greetings. We have offended you!"
The one in the lead was the best-looking one, with a thin face and a somewhat immortal air, wearing a black Daoist robe.
"That's right, we learned that Master Xuanzang was passing through this place and wished to request a meeting, so we had no choice but to resort to this inferior plan. Please forgive us."
Another one wore a red Daoist robe, with the robe open, and no inner lining on his upper body. His broad face and thick brows made him look very fierce, but the smile on his face looked very sincere.
The other three stood to the side, also with different appearances.
One was shorter and sturdier, wearing a white Daoist robe; another wore a deep green Daoist robe, with a longer face and some beard; and there was another wearing a jade-colored Daoist robe, looking like a young master, but his appearance was not very good.
Tang Sanzang instinctively thought that in these wild mountains, such a temple appearing, and the five people before him looking so strange when examined closely—could they not be demons?
Yet their manner was clearly so enthusiastic, and there was not even a hint of intent to harm him in their eyes.
"This poor Daoist's humble name is Jinjie, known to others as Master Eighteen."
"This poor Daoist's dharma name is Master Guzhi."
"This poor Daoist's dharma name is Master Lingkong."
"This poor Daoist's dharma name is Master Fuyun."
"This poor Daoist's dharma name is Master Chishen."
The five of them cupped their hands and bowed in greeting, speaking.
Could they really not be demons, but a temple hidden in the mountains?
Looking at each of them, they all seemed very well-versed in Daoist etiquette, and if they really wanted to eat me, why go to such great lengths?
"Master Xuanzang, in my Wood Immortal Hermitage, we have prepared some simple vegetarian food and clear tea. You have been exhausted from your journey; please come inside to rest for a while."
That Master Eighteen looked at Tang Sanzang with a smile and spoke.
"Master Xuanzang, the five of us have always loved poetry, books, etiquette, and music. We have long heard that Master Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty also comes from a family of poetry and books. Why not come inside with us to discuss?"
That Master Lingkong also said with a full face of smiles.
Although Tang Sanzang still had doubts in his heart, he also understood very well that if he refused them now, it might not be the best way.
So Tang Sanzang smiled and said, "You all flatter me too much. I only know a little about poetry, books, etiquette, and music. If you don't mind, I would be very willing to discuss with you all."
Hearing Tang Sanzang say this, bright smiles appeared on the faces of the five people.
That Master Eighteen turned his body to the side, stretched his hand toward the Wood Immortal Hermitage, and made a gesture of 'please'.
Then Tang Sanzang followed the five of them and stepped into the Wood Immortal Hermitage.
Entering the temple, he saw the Three Pure Ones of the Daoist religion placed in the center of the main hall, with curling blue smoke, and the interior was extremely quiet and secluded.
Entering the side hall, a table full of sumptuous vegetarian food was laid out on a long table.
Master Eighteen stepped forward to lead Tang Sanzang to his seat. At this moment, Tang Sanzang saw that an ancient zither was placed in the center of the room.
That Master Fuyun, with a smile in his eyes, sat by the zither, his fair and slender fingers plucking lightly, and the beautiful zither music immediately drifted through the room.
"Master Xuanzang, please drink some tea!"
Master Eighteen picked up a nanmu teacup, stood up, and said with a full face of smiles.
Subsequently, the others also picked up their teacups and looked at Tang Sanzang.
Tang Sanzang looked down at the tea in the cup, and the refreshing aroma of the tea immediately came toward him.
