Chapter 556: Heavenly Dragon Zen Sound! Burning the Buddha-land, fighting to the death!
However, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s Ksitigarbha Rebirth Sutra was clearly not aimed at evil ghosts, but at the Blood Gods scattered around.
Countless Sanskrit sounds turned into tangible Buddha-light, covering the surrounding Blood Gods.
It was very clear that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva hoped to forcibly create a flaw in the Sea of Blood formation by converting the Blood Gods, thereby breaking the Sea of Blood formation.
It was a pity that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s move was in vain.
The Blood Gods were Ancestor Minghe’s avatars, containing Ancestor Minghe’s will, and were simply not something that ordinary people could convert.
More importantly, the Blood Gods were connected to the origin of the Great Dao of the Sea of Blood; wanting to convert the Blood Gods meant one could not bypass the origin of the Sea of Blood.
Not everyone had Luo Fu’s means.
Even if someone truly possessed the same methods as Luo Fu.
To convert the current Ancestor Minghe, they would still have to face one problem: Luo Fu’s will.
Ancestor Minghe has already been converted by Luo Fu; to convert him again, one must vie for dominance with Luo Fu, which means confronting Luo Fu’s will directly.
With the strength and realm of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, even if he could bypass the origin of the Sea of Blood, he could not possibly contend with Luo Fu’s will.
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle~~~~
The Buddhist chants drilled into the bodies of the Blood God Children, but instead of having the slightest effect, they provoked a backlash from the origin of the Sea of Blood. Pure power from the Sea of Blood surged within the Blood God Children, directly corroding all the Buddhist chants into nothingness.
Seeing this, a flash of disappointment crossed Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s eyes.
Reciting the Ksitigarbha Sutra of Rebirth to convert the Blood God Children was merely a desperate attempt by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, like a sick man clutching at straws.
Deep down, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva actually held no great hope for it.
If the Sea of Blood Array were so easy to break, Ancestor Minghe would not have been able to contend with the Saints.
Although the Ksitigarbha Sutra of Rebirth had no effect on the Blood God Children, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva did not stop chanting; instead, he changed the target from the Blood God Children to the believers and evil ghosts within his Buddhist Kingdom.
A massive amount of Buddhist chants merged into the Buddhist Kingdom.
Boom!
The next moment, the entire Buddhist Kingdom suddenly began to burn violently.
It was not just the Buddhist Kingdom; the believers and evil ghosts within it all began to burn as well.
This burning was not the kind where Buddhist light manifests as flames, but a true, physical burning.
The Buddhist Kingdom was truly being eroded by the Sea of Blood Array, and with Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s methods, he could not stop it at all.
If this continued, the Buddhist Kingdom would sooner or later be completely corroded.
It would be better to stake everything on one throw and turn the entire Buddhist Kingdom into firewood; perhaps that could break the Sea of Blood Array.
Using believers as firewood was not something only Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin did; the entire Buddhist faith operated this way.
This was the final resort of all Buddhist disciples.
"This move again—using believers as firewood. All of Buddhism deserves to die."
Seeing Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva ignite all the believers without hesitation, a shadow of gloom flashed in Ancestor Minghe’s eyes.
He had been completely converted by Luo Fu and carried Luo Fu’s will within him.
Therefore, upon seeing Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s actions, a sense of disgust inexplicably rose in Ancestor Minghe’s heart.
This was the terrifying aspect of being converted into a believer: all converted believers become an extension of the converter’s will, completely losing their sense of self.
Forced conversion and voluntarily becoming a believer are two different concepts.
The former are merely puppets, while the latter still possess free will and can choose whether to continue their faith.
Splash!
The water of the Sea of Blood began to surge violently, pouring into the Buddhist Kingdom in massive quantities, attempting to take the opportunity to completely submerge the entire Buddhist Kingdom and rescue the believers within.
Unfortunately, the speed at which the Sea of Blood water spread could not keep up with the speed at which the believers were self-immolating.
Swish!
Just at this moment, a dark, ghostly radiance suddenly appeared out of thin air, passed through the Sea of Blood Array, and shone upon the Buddhist Kingdom.
The believers illuminated by the ghostly light saw the piety in their eyes dissipate, and expressions of peace appeared on their faces.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
A ripple of laws, as if dominating the entire Netherworld, emerged. All the believers turned into green smoke in an instant and vanished from the Buddhist Kingdom.
Following closely behind, all the evil ghosts were the same; they were liberated from their suffering, revealed peaceful expressions, and then turned into green smoke and disappeared.
In the Netherworld, there is only one law that can turn a large number of souls into green smoke in an instant: the Law of Reincarnation.
The root of the Netherworld is the Great Dao of Reincarnation.
The Great Dao of Reincarnation can naturally dominate the entire Netherworld.
"Sure enough, you really have joined forces. I never expected that Lady Pingxin, who has always remained aloof from worldly affairs, would one day join forces with Ancestor Minghe. Could it be that the Wu Clan is preparing to re-emerge and take over the status of our Buddhist faith?"
The moment he saw the dark, ghostly radiance, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s pupils shrank violently, and an expression of unprecedented confusion appeared on his face.
As the leader of the Buddhist faith in the Netherworld, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva held quite a few quotas for reincarnation.
He had also come into contact with the fluctuations of the Great Dao of Reincarnation more than once, so he recognized at a glance that it was the Great Dao of Reincarnation that had taken away all the believers and evil ghosts in his Buddhist Kingdom.
Lady Pingxin joining forces with Ancestor Minghe was no small matter.
Especially since Lady Pingxin had personally taken action; it was the first time in countless eons.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva knew very well that his battle with Ancestor Minghe must have attracted the attention of all the forces in the Three Realms.
It was precisely because of this that he spoke those words, deliberately linking the alliance between Ancestor Minghe and Lady Pingxin to the Wu Clan behind her.
The Wu Clan was the former master of the Netherworld; if they truly intended to re-emerge, it would inevitably affect the interests of all forces in the Three Realms within the Netherworld.
Although Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had no evidence, in the current situation, the muddier the water, the better it was for the Buddhist faith.
Only in this way could he divert the eyes of the major forces of the Three Realms away from the Buddhist faith as much as possible.
Unfortunately, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s intention was not realized, at least not for the moment.
After he pointed out the Wu Clan, the major forces of the Three Realms did not cast more attention their way.
It must be said that the Buddhist faith had expanded too violently over these years and had encroached upon too many interests.
Compared to the potential re-emergence of the Wu Clan, the major forces of the Three Realms seemed more concerned with how to carve up the power of the Buddhist faith.
Seeing that his words had not attracted anyone’s gaze, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s heart sank to the bottom once again.
Of course, what truly made Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva feel despair was that he clearly sensed that just a moment ago, a familiar aura had descended upon the Eighteen Levels of Hell.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was very familiar with the owner of that aura; it was his old rival, the Heavenly Venerable Taiyi of Salvation.
While Ancestor Minghe was besieging him, the Heavenly Venerable Taiyi of Salvation had taken over the Eighteen Levels of Hell.
It was very clear that the major forces of the Three Realms had already reached a tacit understanding on how to carve up the power of the Buddhist faith.
