Chapter 191: Mahayana Buddhism, Jieyin Zhunti Attains Sainthood!
Shocking beyond compare!
Countless gazes gathered upon Jieyin Zhunti.
Innumerable beings were now dumbfounded, not knowing how to react.
Although anticipated, seeing it in person still felt incredibly explosive.
Meanwhile, in the Western heaven and earth,
The Heavenly Dao's merit surged vast and deep, like an abyss, covering the sky and blocking the sun.
Yet compared to when Nüwa attained sainthood, it was lacking about one-fifth.
Seeing this, Chen Ku's brows slightly furrowed, then relaxed, showing a look of relief.
Compared to Nüwa, there is some gap, which is understandable.
After all, Nüwa's creation of humanity and attainment of sainthood is truly a great merit.
Its meaning is deeper and more enduring than establishing a Dao lineage.
"These merits, plus the accumulation of our master and uncle-master in the past,"
"should be sufficient to prove the Dao without problem."
Chen Ku muttered to himself.
Jieyin Zhunti, in order to revive the West, has already exerted effort for endless ages, paying much.
Thus, the Heavenly Dao had previously bestowed merit many times; although the amount was small, over time Jieyin Zhunti also accumulated a considerable amount.
It seemed to confirm what Chen Ku had said.
Above the Nine Heavens, Jieyin Zhunti's body radiated light, his qi and blood surging.
Strands of merit power emanated from within the two, shining brilliantly, dazzling the eyes.
Merit illuminated each other.
In the boundless void, the Heavenly Dao's merit now poured down.
This time, the sky-filling merit was also divided into three parts.
A small portion of it fell into Chen Ku's body.
The remaining vast merit was then split in two, respectively bestowed upon Jieyin Zhunti.
Instantly, Jieyin Zhunti appeared more towering, his aura vast, with an indescribable sacred dignity.
At the same time, the Buddhist Dao golden light surrounding them reached an unprecedented brilliance.
Billions of feet of Buddha light illuminated, almost every corner of heaven and earth shining brightly, mysterious and profound.
This shows the vast extent of the Buddhist Dao's profound meaning spreading.
Under such merit bestowed, Jieyin Zhunti's cultivation began to advance rapidly, soaring steadily.
The two of them had previously only severed the Three Corpses, not yet united them.
Thus, they were merely in the late Quasi-Sage stage.
But now, with the infusion of merit, the realm's barriers seemed to have completely vanished.
In just a brief moment, the two directly reached the Quasi-Sage peak, their aura becoming more gripping, oppressive to the extreme.
Seeing this, Chen Ku grew more satisfied, a knowing smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
"Marvelous... marvelous......"
"This is the power of Mahayana Buddhism; compared to so-called Theravada Buddhism, they are not on the same level."
"This way, we can also spare our master and uncle-master from having to fulfill that so-called Great Dao vow."
Not bad!
Perhaps even Jieyin Zhunti himself does not know this at present.
Even though Buddhism is one path, there is a distinction between Mahayana and Theravada.
The so-called Theravada Buddhism focuses on personal cultivation to attain the Buddha's fruition.
Conversely, Mahayana Buddhism seeks to save countless beings in the world, immensely grand.
Naturally, their scopes cannot be compared.
According to Chen Ku's thinking, during the later Journey to the West Great Calamity, the renowned Tang Sanzang himself practiced Theravada Buddhism.
Yet Tang Sanzang could not bear to see the suffering of beings, and insisted on trying to bring back Mahayana Buddhism to save them.
Thus came the Great Calamity of the journey to the Western Heaven to obtain scriptures.
Besides that, in the original celestial numbers, Jieyin Zhunti's attainment of sainthood was not as smooth as that of the Three Pure Ones and Nüwa.
Limited by the West's deficient fortune and Jieyin Zhunti's ultimately insufficient enlightenment,
Ultimately, they relied on having made forty-eight Great Dao vows.
Only then could they barely condense a Sage's fruition.
But know that each Great Dao vow is an immense shackle that cannot be escaped or broken.
This also caused Jieyin Zhunti to be restricted everywhere in the original celestial numbers, suffering greatly.
But in this life, with Chen Ku's "guidance," they achieved everything at once, directly establishing Buddhism.
This also avoided Jieyin Zhunti having to make those Great Dao vows.
This can also be called killing multiple birds with one stone.
As Chen Ku pondered,
Meanwhile, Jieyin Zhunti broke through to the Quasi-Sage peak, his aura surging violently, yet did not stop.
Soon after, the two's aura had completely surpassed the great Quasi-Sage realm.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
In the next moment, above the two's heads, Primordial Purple Qi emerged and surged wildly.
Primordial Purple Qi is the foundation of the Great Dao and also an indispensable catalyst for proving the Dao and becoming a saint.
Only see the Primordial Purple Qi hanging high, shedding vast sheets of Dao-pattern divine markings, obscure and profound, their meaning unknown.
Under the cleansing and scouring of vast merit, those endless Dao-pattern divine markings all merged into the bodies of Jieyin and Zhunti.
The saint's might first revealed!
Immediately, the Heavenly Dao's void suddenly opened.
Within it, two supreme Dao fruits, encircling the heavenly laws and order, gradually took shape.
This means that Jieyin and Zhunti's earlier Great Dao voice transmission indeed received the Heavenly Dao's approval.
Their saint's Dao fruits were already gradually forming.
"Heavens, Jieyin and Zhunti have truly become saints!"
"Shh... keep quiet, times have changed; we must no longer directly utter the saints' names."
"The Buddhist Sect has been established, already approved by the Heavenly Dao; from now on it will be the West's foremost Great Dao orthodoxy."
"No, at present, calling it the foremost Great Dao orthodoxy between heaven and earth is not an exaggeration."
All beings exclaimed, shocked to the utmost.
Even the mighty powerhouses who previously wore faces of doubt now wore faces of embarrassment!
A slap to the face!
A naked slap to the face!
Just before, they firmly believed that Jieyin and Zhunti could not possibly prove the Dao and become saints before the Three Pure Ones.
However, however disdainful they were before, they are now that embarrassed.
At the same time, the Heavenly Dao having approved it, the Buddhist Sect's establishment was complete.
In the hearts of all beings, a profound and mysterious feeling arose, knowing that henceforth the West must be viewed anew.
Previously, Nüwa, although she created humans and became a saint, did not establish a Dao orthodoxy.
In other words, the Buddhist Sect founded by Jieyin and Zhunti is the sole saintly Dao orthodoxy in the present age.
Thus, some mighty ones lamented that the Buddhist Sect could be called the world's foremost Great Dao orthodoxy.
Needless to say, at this moment the heavenly and earthly beings, gazing upon Jieyin and Zhunti's majestic forms and feeling the profound, exquisite, vast-as-an-abyss marvelous principles of the Buddhist Dao, could not help but tremble in soul and spirit, hearts shocked and courage shaken.
Below Mount Sumeru, Chen Ku observed this scene from afar.
Strands of laws and order, Dao-pattern divine markings, etc., surged in his sea of consciousness, becoming ever clearer.
At a certain moment, the prompt of heaven-defying comprehension sounded again.
【You observed Jieyin and Zhunti proving the Dao, the saint's might surging, comprehended 5% of the merit laws!】
【You observed the founding of the Buddhist fundamentals, your thoughts penetrating, comprehended 10% of the Buddhist laws!】
This time, again two kinds of comprehension responded.
Merit laws!
Buddhist laws!
Chen Ku startled, then felt overjoyed.
Know that the present Chen Ku, having revived the West and aided Nüwa, Jieyin, Zhunti, and others in proving the Dao, has accumulated vast merit.
If the merit laws were added to his person, he could thereafter better control that boundless merit, with ease.
As for the Buddhist laws, there's no need to say more.
With the Buddhist Sect established, he would henceforth be a Buddhist disciple, or rather, truly the chief disciple of the Buddhist Sect.
Being able to comprehend these laws will make his future cultivation twice as effective with half the effort.
"Hehe, not bad, not bad!"
"With these two new laws bolstering me, my foundation has grown stronger again."
"From now on, whether cultivating or in great battles, it's like adding wings to a tiger."
Chen Ku laughed while muttering to himself, for this harvest he was also satisfied.
Finally.
Jieyin and Zhunti have completed proving the Dao.
With the saint's Dao fruits added to their persons, divine radiance shone upon the West, giving rise to boundless auspicious colorful celestial mist.
The myriad heavenly phenomena gradually faded, and the Heavenly Dao's void again closed, no longer manifest in the world.
Jieyin and Zhunti returned.
But at this moment, their entire persons were enveloped in brilliant holy light, preventing beings from seeing their true appearances.
However, faintly visible, within the holy light enveloping them, endless gold light burst forth upon their Dao bodies.
At first glance, one might think it resembled Chen Ku's Buddha's golden body.
But this is not the effect of some great divine ability; rather, it is the saint's Dao body, with laws and order imprinted within, naturally thus marvelous and extraordinary.
Jieyin and Zhunti looked down arrogantly, unprecedentedly spring-wind proud, their dignity unmatched.
Their eyes slowly swept over heaven and earth, instantly making all beings' hearts and gall tremble, spines chilled.
"We pay respects to the two saints!"
"We pay respects to the two saints!"
Such words echoed between heaven and earth.
Immediately, whether in the West or the East heaven and earth, all beings knelt, bowed deeply, and dared not gaze upon the saints' forms.
Reverence!
Veneration!
It's awe-inspiring!
It is both the overwhelming pressure exerted by the sage's heavenly might upon all beings, and the involuntary reverence they feel toward the heavenly Way and the sage.
Hearing the beings' words and feeling their profound awe, Jieyin Zhunti's smile deepened.
His look toward Chen Ku was also full of great relief.
Without this disciple (nephew-disciple) of theirs, they could never have achieved sagehood so swiftly.
Alternatively, had they come after the Three Pure Ones, even attaining sagehood might not have drawn such attention.
It must be said that today is arguably the most thrilling moment in Jieyin Zhunti's history.
This differs from the beings' intertwined shock and regret.
At this moment, top experts from all quarters reacted in varied ways.
At the foot of Mount Buzhou, within the Pangu Holy Hall.
The Twelve Ancestral Witches have always neither revered heaven and earth nor respected sages, worshipping solely the legendary Pangu Great God.
Thus, they would naturally not kneel to Jieyin Zhunti.
But the twelve of them now all wore solemn, stern faces, and felt their hearts grow even heavier.
"Hiss... Jieyin Zhunti became a sage so quickly?"
"Fortunately... fortunately, we hadn't yet deployed the Doutian God Slaughter Great Formation against Chen Ku."
Gonggong's pupils contracted sharply; he couldn't help but whisper this exclamation, muttering a sentence.
A lingering fear!
Even as an Ancestral Witch, Gonggong still feels waves of lingering fear.
Having previously lost a sparring match with Chen Ku, he still considered using his last resort—the Twelve Doutian God Slaughter Great Formation—to confront Chen Ku and seize the Nine‑Turn Mystic Technique.
Who would have thought that in such a short time, Jieyin Zhunti would powerfully attain the Dao and achieve sagehood?
Now, Gonggong feels only deep relief.
Otherwise, had he acted earlier, it would now be a catastrophe capable of overturning the Wu clan.
Not only Gonggong feels this way.
Dijiang, leader of the Twelve Ancestral Witches, also had deep‑set eyes, gazing at the manifestation of Jieyin Zhunti's sage Dao body.
"Mmm... this way, the West will surely become mighty, beyond comparison with ordinary forces."
"It seems we must slowly plot for the Nine‑Turn Mystic Technique."
In Dijiang's heart, the West is now unprecedentedly valued.
Even if he previously had some thoughts of forcibly seizing the Nine‑Turn Mystic Technique.
But with Jieyin Zhunti's attainment of sagehood, those thoughts were completely swept away, no longer existing.
However, there is still more.
As Dijiang's words fell, Hou Tu, the Ancestral Witch of Earth, also showed a contemplative expression.
"Brothers, do not forget."
"From now on, Chen Ku will not only have the protection of these two sage masters, Jieyin Zhunti."
"Even the earlier Nüwa shares a deep connection with Chen Ku."
"Wasn't part of the merit from creating humanity and attaining sagehood also divided by Chen Ku?"
After Hou Tu spoke these words, the remaining eleven Ancestral Witches' faces turned even more grim.
"Hiss......"
"Hiss......"
Everyone secretly drew in a cold breath.
That's right!
In that case, the three great sages of the present era all have some kind of relationship, deep or shallow, with Chen Ku?!
Damn!
This kid's background is indeed somewhat frightening.
Even if the Twelve Ancestral Witches unleash the Doutian God Slaughter Great Formation, they could not directly oppose three sages.
In an instant, the Twelve Ancestral Witches had no time to marvel at the world‑shaking commotion of Jieyin Zhunti's attainment of sagehood.
Instead, they developed a thousand‑fold greater regard for Chen Ku.
This kid...... must absolutely not be provoked lightly!
