Chapter 1370: Fantasy Antique Shop Part-Time Log 04
Father was injured and hospitalized, Xu Feifei was asked to go home to cook dinner for Xu Yaozu, then bring the meal to the hospital.
After all that, Xu Feifei again had no time tonight to study.
But tonight, Xu Feifei couldn't focus her attention on her studies at all; she had something more important to do.
Just after leaving the hospital, she threw the triangular talisman from her pocket into the trash, then, about to leave, she felt it wasn't safe enough, so she poured the remaining half-bottle of drink over it, making sure it was soaked before leaving.
Xu Feifei didn't know what it was used for, but she was afraid the shop owner would come looking for it and then take her bracelet.
Returning to the messy house, Xu Yaozu kicked off his shoes and jumped onto the sofa, his resentful glare Stared Xu Feifei: 'You still haven't gone to cook, I'm starving!'
'If you don't go, I'll tell Mother! She'll beat you to death!'
Xu Feifei glanced at his wrist and whispered: 'I'll make you something delicious tonight—lobster and chicken legs—change into comfortable clothes.'
'Okay! Okay! Hurry up! Don't dawdle!'
Xu Yaozu had just finished a round of a game, thinking about the meal he could eat tonight, he gleefully swayed as he walked to his room, shedding clothes and pants all over the floor.
With a soft pop, Xu Feifei heard the bracelet land on his clothes; the room door wasn't closed, and Xu Yaozu was in the middle of changing.
Xu Feifei pinched her fingertips, then darted in at top speed to pick up the bracelet.
Without bothering to heed Xu Yaozu's angry curses behind her, Xu Feifei hurried back to her own room and slammed the door shut.
Called a room, it was actually a storage closet filled with junk, except for a worn-out mattress placed inside.
But it wouldn't hold for long; Xu Feifei knew this door had been kicked down many times before, and Xu Yaozu would soon burst in and beat her.
Xu Feifei gripped the beautiful bracelet in her hand, her eyes pleading: 'Is it you… right? I know you're helping me.'
'I don't want this life, I don't want these parents and this brother; can you help me?'
But the bracelet remained still, while Xu Feifei heard the door frame being smashed, and she could guess Xu Yaozu was definitely using a chair to do it.
'Please… come out and help me, I'm willing to do anything.'
Xu Feifei kept murmuring, not knowing which word took effect; the pounding outside suddenly stopped, accompanied by Xu Yaozu's anguished scream.
The surroundings fell into silence.
Xu Feifei shuddered in fright, not knowing what had happened; just as she hesitated whether to go look, a pallid, grayish severed hand stretched out from under the bed.
The severed hand slowly opened its clenched fist; in its palm lay an eyeball, soaked in blood, exuding terror, freshly gouged out.
Xu Feifei froze, slowly turning to look toward the door; blood seeped from the crack in the door, forming a small puddle on the floor.
She stared at it for a long time; the severed hand seemed to be waiting for something.
'Thank you…'
Xu Feifei reached out to take the eyeball, her voice soft and hoarse; an inexplicable joy welled up from her heart, spreading through her limbs.
The severed hand then pointed toward the door, urging her.
Quite strangely, Xu Feifei understood its meaning again.
She slowly rose, clutching the eyeball tightly, and opened the room door.
Almost instantly, Xu Yaozu's body slid down the door panel and collapsed flat on the ground, his half-empty eye socket continually bleeding, already breathless.
Xu Feifei's first reaction was fear, but when the severed hand clung to her shoulder, she also felt a thrill of revenge.
She crouched, her eyes numb yet filled with hatred, her fingers jabbed into Xu Yaozu's other eye and she pulled it out forcefully.
Due to inertia, Xu Feifei bumped into the shelf beside the door, sending things rolling onto the floor.
Xu Feifei's sharp eyes caught a glinting music box among the rolling items—her favorite childhood toy, which could sing, later snatched by Xu Yaozu.
Xu Feifei still remembered how to sing that song.
'Twinkle, twinkle… sparkling bright.'
'The sky is full of little stars……'
Xu Feifei sang, her blood-soaked fingers gripping the two eyeballs: 'Hanging in the sky, shedding light……'
'Looks like many, little eyes.'
Xu Feifei crushed the two eyeballs, her gloomy gaze fixed on the inhuman Xu Yaozu, then she suddenly curled her lips into a smile.
'Looks like… many, little eyes.'
She crouched again, laboriously dragging Xu Yaozu's foot, slowly pulling him into the kitchen.
Dinner still hadn't been made; Father and Mother were still waiting in the hospital to eat.
Bang!
The storeroom door slammed shut; the grayish severed hand crawled over the wall, closely following Xu Feifei.
Hand rose, knife fell—meat chunks went into the pot.
The severed hand clung to Xu Feifei's shoulder, its sharp nails slowly piercing the skin, devouring flesh and soul.
Everything ready, Xu Feifei hugged the lunchbox and returned to the hospital.
Mother was already starving, yet she refused to eat the hospital food; she immediately snatched the lunchbox and began wolfing it down.
The severed hand reappeared, now almost fused with Xu Feifei's shoulder, as if an extra hand had materialized out of thin air.
'How did you cook today? Why did you put so much seasoning?' Mother, after just a few bites, felt the taste was off, and Stared Xu Feifei.
Xu Feifei hurriedly apologized: 'Sorry, Mother… it's because Yaozu rushed out to play, so I was a bit pressed for time.'
Mother scolded a few more times before she was satisfied, and the whole ward filled with the aroma of braised pork.
Xu Feifei lowered her head, clutching the lunchbox, listening to Mother's constant chewing, her smile growing wider.
At that moment, the ward door opened again, and two police officers came over to inquire about the situation.
Xu Feifei sat in the corner, sensing a gaze upon her; she slowly lifted her head and suddenly offered the lunchbox.
'Police uncles, have you eaten dinner yet?'
'No, thank you.'
The police politely declined.
"Ah… what a pity."
Xu Feifei listened as they discussed the doubts of the case, quietly reaching out to touch the beautiful bracelet on her wrist, as if she were touching an extra third arm.
They'll be back soon, Mother.
They sprayed a lot of perfume.
You probably can't smell it, right?
