Chapter 2865: Why Does My Wife Follow Me Every Day 25
The surveillance footage played on the screen on the wall.
The aura of the high-ranking beastmen was so oppressive that even through the screen one could feel that icy pressure.
The secretary's complexion turned a sickly pale.
The beastmen who had once been reprimanded by Yun Jian were now ashen-faced, trembling violently, wishing they could vanish on the spot.
Yun Jian's reputation in the underground arena had nothing to do with the flower shop owner's gentleness and harmlessness.
"He's here."
The secretary raised a hand to shut off the projection, the eyes behind the mask complex: "Boss Jin, you now see with your own eyes what kind of person he is—violent, ruthless, treating rules as nothing—do you really want to ally yourself with someone like him?"
He hadn't finished speaking when the office door was slammed open.
A few drops of bright red blood speckled Yun Jian's fair cheeks, making his brows and eyes look even colder.
He raised the gun in his hand, aiming it at the secretary's forehead from a distance.
"You dare steal my person—are you tired of living?"
Everyone was shocked.
The secretary suppressed his fear; his trump card was the big boss—even if Yun Jian went crazier, he wouldn't really turn against the big boss.
This is the agreement of the underground arena, and also the rule.
"Mr. Yun, please calm down. This is District D; I am the big boss's personal secretary. According to the agreement, you cannot arbitrarily fight here, nor can you lay a hand on me. Besides, we only invited Mr. Jin over for a chat."
Another batch of bodyguards came to block Yun Jian.
Taking the opportunity, the secretary pulled out a business card from his pocket: "Boss Jin, an uncontrollable high-ranking beastman—you surely have your own judgment."
He stood up, intending to hand the big boss's business card to Jin Chen.
Jin Chen raised an eyebrow, silent, his mocking gaze slowly shifting to behind the secretary.
Just as the business card was about to reach Jin Chen,
"Do you want to die?"
Yun Jian's voice sounded almost against the secretary's ear, carrying a chill that could freeze one's blood.
He had somehow moved close, the gun muzzle pressing against the secretary's temple.
The secretary's breath stopped.
"... I am the big boss's personal secretary." He reminded again.
Yun Jian's gaze grew colder.
He certainly knew this rule; the underground arena's present order rests on the balance and agreements among a few high-ranking controllers.
Killing a secretary is not hard; the difficulty lies in facing the big boss's wrath afterward.
But…
He wants to take Jin Chen.
Yun Jian's gaze turned sinister and terrifying, his index finger on the trigger gradually tightening.
The secretary's eyes locked onto Yun Jian's finger: "Yun Jian!"
"Yun Jian."
Jin Chen's gentle voice sounded at the same time.
Yun Jian turned his gaze toward Jin Chen.
"Come over." Jin Chen said.
Yun Jian's hand twitched.
He looked at Jin Chen, his eyes always filled with obsessive affection; they were still red, but in an instant his eye sockets reddened.
Jin Chen stood, walked to Yun Jian's side, and lightly placed his hand on the wrist holding the gun, giving a reassuring sense of control.
"Let go." Jin Chen said softly, "Watch out for accidental discharge."
Yun Jian's fingers loosened, the gun fell to the floor with a light clang.
The secretary, still shaken, looked at Yun Jian, then glanced apprehensively at Jin Chen; he no longer dared to stay, nor did he have time for the business card or the big boss's orders, giving a look to the few frightened beastmen in the corner.
The beastmen who had been summoned ran even faster, hearts pounding with shock as they fled.
This seemingly ordinary human actually managed to make the grim-reaper-like Boss Yun rein in his killing intent! It's practically a miracle!
The office instantly emptied halfway, leaving only Song Cun and Tan Quan, bound in the corner, who had witnessed the whole process.
Song Cun and Tan Quan were still tied to their chairs, staring dumbfounded at all of this.
Yun Jian's anger clearly hadn't dissipated; he wouldn't be angry with Jin Chen, but someone ought to bear his wrath.
He turned, his icy gaze falling on Song Cun and Tan Quan.
That look was as if he were seeing two annoying pieces of trash.
Song Cun and Tan Quan: "..."
What a sin.
All they wanted today was to go out and relax!
The two froze in place, not daring to move a muscle.
Jin Chen sighed.
He reached out and covered Yun Jian's eyes.
"Don't look." Jin Chen said, "Let them go."
Yun Jian's body tensed, he struggled a bit, but couldn't break free.
Jin Chen lowered his head and gently bit his ear, voice dropping even lower: "Be good, little bunny."
Yun Jian's body shuddered, then he went still.
Song Cun and Tan Quan, as if pardoned, hurriedly untied each other and stumbled out of the office, not daring to linger even a second.
Only after confirming that the two had left did Jin Chen slowly loosen his hand that had been covering Yun Jian's eyes.
Yun Jian opened his eyes; his eyeballs had turned completely crimson, a trait of the beastfolk now showing.
His mouth was full of a bloody taste; he unconsciously bit his lip, swallowing the metallic flavor whole, like an irritated rabbit, stubbornly staring at Jin Chen.
"Are you afraid of me?" Yun Jian asked, his voice hoarse.
"Not afraid." Jin Chen said, picking up the gun Yun Jian had dropped on the ground, setting it aside, then pressing his hand on Yun Jian's slightly trembling nape, his thumb slowly massaging the taut skin, "I'm fine, calm down, okay?"
Yun Jian suddenly lunged forward, fiercely biting Jin Chen's lip.
The bloody, savage biting seemed intent on venting all fear and anger into the kiss.
The bloody taste spread between their lips and teeth.
As he bit, he squeezed out broken questions from between his teeth.
"Why exactly did you come here?"
"Why didn't you answer the phone?"
"What did they tell you?"
"Why do you still care about Tan Quan and Song Cun..."
Yun Jian's gaze was darkly terrifying, as if he might lose control any second.
Jin Chen let him bite, waiting until Yun Jian had bitten his fill and his emotions eased a little, then Jin Chen released his lip and kissed his reddened eye corners.
"I came for you, understand? Not for anyone else, but for you."
"This isn't the place to talk; your condition isn't right—go home, or should we go to your turf first?"
Yun Jian stared at him for a few seconds, then took Jin Chen's hand, gripping it tightly, as if afraid he would run away.
