Chapter 2877: Why Does My Wife Follow Me Every Day 38?

~7 min read 1,284 words

Dinner was abundant, and there was also a pot of soup boiled to a milky white.

Yun Jian's cooking skills kept improving, every dish suited Jin Chen's taste, but Jin Chen didn't eat very attentively.

Because a certain rabbit wouldn't let him relax.

"How's the flower shop business today?"

"Pretty good." Yun Jian handed him a shrimp, "This afternoon a regular came by and ordered a few bouquets for next week."

Jin Chen nodded, then placed a piece of fish in his bowl, "Eat a bit more, your face looks a little pale."

Yun Jian ate it obediently, but felt doubtful inside.

Jin Chen usually wouldn't repeatedly ask about his schedule like this; had he noticed something?

Yun Jian couldn't read that emotion.

After the meal, Yun Jian brewed a pot of calming flower tea.

Yun Jian placed the fruit on the coffee table, sat down next to Jin Chen, turned sideways to lean in and kiss him, but Jin Chen raised his hand and pinched the back of his neck.

Yun Jian's head tilted slightly from the pinch, a bit confused, but he missed Jin Chen terribly; although they had video chats every day these past few days, the screen still wasn't enough to feel real, and right now his heart was filled with a longing to be close.

Just after Jin Chen pinched the back of his neck for a moment, he saw two fluffy rabbit ears sprouting from Yun Jian's hair, soft and drooping, actively rubbing against his hand, letting him play with them.

"What's wrong?" Yun Jian asked, his voice soft.

Jin Chen kneaded his soft ear bases, while his other hand lifted the tea cup and took a sip.

"To be honest."

"... I really miss you, don't you miss me?"

Yun Jian felt comfortable from his rubbing, his eyes slightly narrowed, and he naturally leaned into Jin Chen's embrace, pulling Jin Chen's hand to press against his own belly, changing the subject.

"I really miss you; when you're not here, even meals don't taste good."

Jin Chen lowered his gaze to look at him, his eyes deep.

Then he set down the tea cup, and with his free hand loosened his tie.

"Lie down."

Yun Jian was a bit dazed, but still obediently lifted his head to look at Jin Chen, then turned sideways and lay down on Jin Chen's legs.

He was about to say something when his wrist was suddenly grabbed.

Jin Chen, in a few moves, used the tie to bind Yun Jian's two wrists together, tying a knot.

Yun Jian stared for a moment, then slightly turned his head, even adjusting his bound wrists cooperatively, his breath warm, "... Jin Chen."

Jin Chen reached out, lifted the hem of Yun Jian's loungewear at his lower back, exposing the skin at his waist, the scar starkly visible.

Jin Chen's fingers lightly brushed the edge of the scar.

Yun Jian's body jerked violently, instinctively wanting to dodge, but his wrists were bound, limiting his movement, so he could only draw a shallow breath.

"Didn't you say you didn't go anywhere?" Jin Chen lowered his gaze, his fingertip tapping again, "How did this injury happen?"

Yun Jian pressed his lips together guiltily.

This wound isn't serious; given a beastman's regenerative ability, it'll probably be just a white line in a few days.

He had deliberately changed clothes and washed them carefully, yet he hadn't expected it to still be...

"... It's already been taken care of, it's not a big deal."

"A rabbit's pain tolerance is top-notch, and besides I'm a high-ranking beastman... it's just a little uncomfortable."

"Sorry... I only wanted to deal with those traitors; they still wanted to act against you, how could I bear it..."

In response to Yun Jian's words, Jin Chen lowered his head and placed a kiss beside that scar, warm and hot.

"You can't tolerate anything concerning me, yet for yourself you can endure pain like this?" Jin Chen asked.

Yun Jian was stunned, and for a good while didn't react.

He had thought it really didn't hurt.

Just like the many injuries he'd suffered before, those more severe and gruesome wounds, he'd endured them all, never once crying out in pain.

But after being kissed like this by Jin Chen, it felt as if his pain-sensing nerves had suddenly revived.

Yun Jian couldn't help wanting to turn his head, to see Jin Chen's expression right then, and to kiss him.

He struggled to turn his head, his eyes brimming with love that could not be contained.

His heart was so full of love that it naturally spilled out from his eyes.

Yun Jian slightly turned his head, and through the misty tear-light saw Jin Chen's face, and also saw on the sofa coffee table something that was only taken out and displayed when Jin Chen came.

It was a flower that bloomed solely for Jin Chen.

Yun Jian's hands were bound by the tie, unable to use them to grab it, so he lifted his head, gently bit the stem of one of the flowers with his teeth, picked it up, then turned his body and knelt seated on Jin Chen's legs.

He leaned close to Jin Chen, gently rubbing a velvety rose against Jin Chen's cheek, then his neck, finally resting it below Jin Chen's eyebrows and eyes.

Jin Chen lowered his eyes to watch him, allowing the motion; the fire-like petals made his brows and eyes appear ever deeper and shimmering, as if holding the softest lake water of an entire spring.

The rose lightly brushed between their faces, its petals grazing the skin.

Yun Jian moved even closer, released his teeth, letting the rose fall between their tightly pressed bodies, lifted his face, and said, "Darling, I was wrong... I won't hide my injuries from you anymore."

"Will you let me kiss you, okay?"

Jin Chen grasped his bound wrists, gave a gentle tug, lowered his head, and sealed his lips over the ones Yun Jian offered.

The rose pressed between their bodies, its soft petals unable to bear the weight, drifted down, and a few pieces happened to land on the lifted hem of Yun Jian's lower back, covering that ferocious scar.

The deep red petals, set against his fair skin and the wound, were eerily beautiful.

Yun Jian went soft in Jin Chen's embrace from the kiss, his lips slightly parted, breathing heavily, his eyes watery as he looked at Jin Chen, murmuring his name.

"Jin Chen... darling..."

Jin Chen responded in kind, rubbing his short tail that couldn't be hidden.

But Yun Jian soon realized that Jin Chen's kiss was merely teasing, a light taste then stopping, stirring Yun Jian's soul to flutter outward, yet pulling back just a bit when Yun Jian was about to lose control.

Like the most patient hunter, and also like the owner who knows best how to soothe a restless pet.

Instead, it made Yun Jian's longing over these days burn even more fiercely.

Yun Jian's wrist tugged lightly, his eye sockets reddened further, rubbing against Jin Chen's collar, "Don't... such a kiss... Jin Chen."

Jin Chen released his lips, the veins spreading on the back of his hand bent his knuckles, he pinched Yun Jian's ear, "Remember this well, got it, Xiao Feng Tuzi."

"Gotit......"

Yun Jian's Tears slid down, mixing with the moisture left from the recent kiss, leaving a sparkling trace on his cheeks.

But he still lifted his head, persistently, with a pleading look, gazing at Jin Chen, lips slightly parted, waiting for the next kiss.

This time, Jin Chen did not torment him again.
