Chapter 2991: Taming the Willful 08

~7 min read 1,255 words

When Chenshu finally climbed back onto the dock from the ship's rail, his legs were a bit weak, and as the sea wind blew, his whole body felt chilly.

Chenshu tidied himself up a bit, swept his hair back, patted his cheeks to make his complexion look more normal.

The pilotage building at West Harbor is a three-story gray-white structure built on the high point of the dock, with a good view that overlooks the entire harbor operations.

In front of the building there is a small square; from afar Chenshu saw Jin Chen standing before the pilotage building, with a few people beside him, including Zhou Cheng.

Zhou Cheng had changed into a light-gray work uniform, wore an ID badge on his chest, and a safety helmet on his head, looking like an ordinary dock administrator.

If he hadn't just seen Zhou Cheng personally rummaging through the smuggled goods in the cargo hold, Chenshu would hardly have given him a second glance.

Jin Chen was listening to Zhou Cheng's report, while a crowd of workers and security personnel, about twenty of them, stood nearby, the atmosphere looking very solemn.

Chenshu frowned in puzzlement, wondering what they were doing—checking cargo didn't need that many people, did it?

He was still wondering when a patrolling guard spotted him.

"Who goes there!" the guard shouted.

In an instant, all eyes turned toward him.

The gazes of about twenty people fell on Chenshu in unison.

Chenshu: "……"

He stood where he was, stared at by so many pairs of eyes, his mind went blank for a few seconds; he slightly tilted his head, shifting from sneaky onlooker to innocent beauty mode, somehow exuding an indescribable air of nobility.

Zhou Cheng's gaze swept over Chenshu; he didn't know who this person was, but suspicion began to stir in his heart.

Before Zhou Cheng could do anything, Jin Chen waved at Chenshu, as if calling a runaway puppy back.

Chenshu was a bit displeased, rolling his eyes inwardly, but kept his smile and walked over obediently.

The sea wind lifted his hair and coat; the youth's frame was slender yet his steps steady, giving him a contradictory allure that made him seem both unrestrained and flamboyant.

Chenshu walked up to Jin Chen, tilted his head, and asked, "What's up?"

Jin Chen lowered his gaze to him, "Where did you go?"

Chenshu blurted out, eyes curved, "Just blowing the sea breeze, watching the gulls."

"President Jin," Zhou Cheng could hardly hold back, stepping forward, "According to procedure, this batch of cargo has a discrepancy; someone might have smuggled contraband or stowaways. To be safe, everyone unrelated here must undergo inspection."

He paused, his gaze falling again on Chenshu, "Including this gentleman."

Chenshu: "?"

He looked at Zhou Cheng in disbelief, this guy was shouting "catch the thief" while being the thief himself! Shameless!

Chenshu snorted twice in his heart, blinked his eyes, and pointed at himself toward Jin Chen, "What does that mean, honey? Do I have to be inspected too?"

Zhou Cheng: "……?" Wait a moment.

Those brothers reacted even more directly, practically wanting to write their shock on their faces.

Chen Gai stood aside, hiding his talents, his expression calm.

He was finally not the only one frightened by the young sister-in-law's identity, and even felt a hint of relief inside.

Look, I said it—anyone seeing her for the first time would react like this.

Jin Chen ignored Chenshu's pretended obedience, fingertips pressing against his forehead as he leaned in, gently pushing him aside, voice cold, "Come get inspected together; it'll be over soon."

Chenshu wouldn't dare.

That thing was still in his windbreaker pocket.

That damned cargo wasn't his doing; the smuggled goods had nothing to do with him, yet he felt guilty anyway.

In that instant Chenshu's mind raced through many possibilities, concluding that no one could search his person, especially not Zhou Cheng's people.

In front of the pilotage building there was a low platform, about half a meter high; Chenshu stepped onto it in one stride, and Jin Chen didn't stop him.

The sea wind blew up, making his windcoat snap loudly, the hem flying behind him; standing on the elevation, his slender figure swayed in the gust, as if about to be blown away at any moment.

"Jin Chen!" Chenshu's voice cracked in the wind, his whole appearance that of someone suffering a great grievance, finally bursting out after he could bear it no longer.

"You're being harsh with me again! You're treating me like this again!"

"Just last night we were sharing a bed, you left me bruised all over, and now you turn your face and deny me, actually lumping me together with others!"

The workers' and guards' expressions were extremely rich.

They had never seen President Jin like this, yet they really wanted to watch; each held back until their faces turned red, shoulders trembling, wanting to laugh but daring not to, wanting to look but daring not to, nearly hurting themselves inside.

Jin Chen: "……"

A vein jumped on his neck, his temples throbbed faintly—this little brat, really…

"Get down." Jin Chen's voice had turned icy to the extreme, each word sounded as if scooped from an ice cellar.

"Then you… mmph mmph mmph!"

Chenshu still wanted to shout louder to divert everyone's attention, but before he finished, Jin Chen grabbed his waist with one hand, pulled him from the edge of the platform into his arms and covered his mouth, as if fearing he'd jump back up to say something shocking; he whispered coldly in his ear, "Say another word and I'll throw you into the sea."

Chenshu gave a muffled sound, struggled twice, but Jin Chen's arms were like iron hoops, impossible to break free, so he could only quickly comply,

He obediently stayed still in Jin Chen's embrace, his body going limp against him, his mouth still covered, only a pair of beautiful eyes blinking at the stunned workers and guards before him.

He spoke in a tiny voice, the sound leaking from between Jin Chen's fingers, muffled and husky, tinged with laughter: "Honey, you're always so fierce, aren't you afraid I'll run away?"

His tone was aggrieved, yet every word inside and out was provocative.

Jin Chen lowered his eyes at him, the lower three whites of his cold, sharp gaze narrowing slightly—a look Chenshu knew well, the same way Jin Chen had looked at him before pulling off his pants the night before.

A chill ran down Chenshu's neck; he quickly pressed his legs together, shrank his neck, and became a quiet ornament in Jin Chen's arms, while his mind still muttered.

This old man, how can he be so fierce yet so sexy. Really.

Having witnessed the whole scene, Zhou Cheng's expression could no longer be described as merely splendid.

Jin Chen gripped Chenshu's chin, turned his face to the side, and told Zhou Cheng, "I'll search him myself; you guys go check below."

Chen Gai walked over, put an arm around Zhou Cheng's shoulders, and said with a grin, "Come on, Brother Zhou, President Jin said he'll do it himself, so we don't need to worry."

Zhou Cheng was led downward by Chen Gai, his steps a bit stiff.

He turned his head, glanced toward Jin Chen and Chenshu's direction, unsure whether this youth was the one who had made a noise in the cargo hold.

The other onlookers were also perceptive, instantly scattering like birds and beasts to go about their business.
