Chapter 133: Zhu Yuan Says She Has Never Liked You

~10 min read 2,000 words

Sheng Yu did not return to the Hot Spring Villa; instead, the car drove toward Haibin Road No. 1 Villa.

The place where Sheng Yu celebrated his birthday previously.

The car drove into the villa's underground garage, but the barrier gate blocked the car Enzo was driving from entering further.

Enzo honked the horn once, but the Bodyguard in the security room shook his head at him silently, indicating they were merely following orders.

No one knew how Miss Zhu had provoked Young Master Yu to make him so furious.

With no other choice, Enzo had to park the car in the courtyard. "Miss Zhu, how about I take you back..."

"Do you know the gate code?" Zhu Yuan asked him.

Two minutes later, Zhu Yuan opened the gate using the code and closed it behind her.

The sensor lights turned on, and there was heating inside the house; she did not know if it was because of the silence all around, but she still felt cold.

She did not go to the second floor, but instead went to the kitchen, cooked a bowl of noodles, carried it upstairs, and knocked on the master bedroom door, but there was no response from inside.

She found a stool and placed the bowl on it. Then, she took out her phone and opened WeChat. Sheng Yu had forcibly added her WeChat account last week.

She clicked on the man's all-black profile picture and sent a message: 【I cooked you a bowl of noodles and left them at the door; eat them before you sleep. I'm heading back now.】

Before entering, she had lied to Enzo that she would stay the night, and Enzo had already gone to rest.

She used her phone to call a taxi, but the taxi driver could not drive into the villa area, and it was raining now, so Zhu Yuan searched around until she finally found an umbrella.

When she reached the main gate, she looked back once, then silently turned away.

She had yielded in his office earlier because she did not want her brother to be implicated by her; in a fit of rage, Sheng Yu would truly be capable of ensuring her brother never left prison.

But she had already drawn a line in her heart.

She had thought it through: Sheng Yu would not help her with her brother's matter, and even if he did, she would be under his thumb in the future.

She had nothing of value to offer in return for the help he had once given her.

That bowl of noodles would serve as a farewell.

The cold wind whipped by, and sleet pelted the surface of the umbrella with a pitter-patter.

Zhu Yuan tightened her coat and tucked one hand into her pocket; her hands and feet were always ice-cold in winter, and her pocket was just as freezing, unable to warm up even after a long time.

She walked for a full ten minutes under the umbrella before reaching the outer perimeter of the villa area.

The driver was a middle-aged woman; she had specifically requested a female driver to pick her up.

Seeing that Zhu Yuan was an exceptionally beautiful young girl coming out of a wealthy villa area in the middle of the night.

The driver guessed she might be a gold-digger and urged her impatiently: "Get in, it's hard to park here!"

Zhu Yuan closed her umbrella and sat inside.

The car left Haibin Road.

The interior of the car was very quiet, with only the sound of the windshield wipers moving.

The female driver looked into the rearview mirror several times; a black car had been following her vehicle ever since they left Haibin Road.

Was it a coincidence, or was someone following them?

However, the car was almost at the residential complex; she would leave after dropping the passenger off, and she did not care about anything else.

After getting out of the car, Zhu Yuan opened her umbrella and walked into the lobby of the apartment building, took the elevator upstairs, and turned on the living room lights upon entering.

She did not notice a black sedan turning around and leaving in the rain curtain downstairs.

The next afternoon, Zhu Yuan went to the Theater.

Director Hao was startled when he saw her. "Xiao Fengzheng, are you not feeling well? Was the intensity of four consecutive performances too much? You must tell me in time if you aren't feeling well."

It was no wonder Director Hao was startled; she had seen her own poor complexion in the mirror after waking up.

After returning home in the middle of the night, she was clearly exhausted, yet she could not fall asleep no matter how she tried while lying in bed.

"I'm fine, Director. I promise to be fully recovered before going on stage." She gave Director Hao a reassuring smile.

She needed money to provide a guarantee for her grandfather's future health care, as well as for her brother's living expenses in prison.

At this moment, she heard someone calling her.

Turning her head, she saw Dong Shu approaching with a look of concern.

Dong Shu then pulled her into the dressing room. "Why is your complexion so poor?"

Zhu Yuan rubbed her face with both hands. "Maybe I didn't sleep well."

Dong Shu spoke hesitantly: "Did you have a fight with Yu Ge?"

Zhu Yuan was stunned; she looked at Dong Shu and clenched her fingers tightly where she could not be seen.

If she did not know the inside story, she really would not have thought much of it.

She had only gone to the Sheng Group after her performance ended last night, and there were few people left in the company by then.

How did Dong Shu know that she had fought with Sheng Yu?

Unless...

Zhu Yuan's heart turned cold; Dong Shu had been observing her in secret, or perhaps even following her!

She hummed in agreement with Dong Shu's words.

"Why would you fight for no reason? You have such a good temper; it must be Yu Ge bullying you, right?" Dong Shu stood up indignantly.

"It's alright. I have a favor to ask of him, so I should bear his temper."

Zhu Yuan grabbed Dong Shu's hand. "Please, you must not go to him or offend him because of me."

Dong Shu sensed something wrong in her words. "You have a favor to ask of him?"

Zhu Yuan seemed somewhat reluctant to speak, lowering her head to fiddle with the buttons on her clothes. "Didn't I mention to you that I have a brother in prison?"

"Yes, I remember."

"I want my brother to get out early, and only Sheng Yu can help me." Her eyes gradually turned red. "Dong Shu, I'm only telling you this because you're my friend. Actually, I'm very afraid of him, I've always been afraid of him; if it weren't for my brother, I would never stay by his side."

Dong Shu's hand gripped her shoulder, a flash of sharpness in her eyes, "Why are you so foolish? If Yu Ge finds out you aren't sincere..."

"I won't let him find out. Am I not pretending very well? Even you can't tell, so how could he?" Zhu Yuan looked at Dong Shu.

"So you don't like him?"

Zhu Yuan shook her head, "I have never liked him."

Dong Shu gripped her hand, heart aching, "Then how did you manage to hold on until now? I heard Qi Jing say before that Zhan Ge likes you very much; if he knew you had suffered so much, how his heart would ache."

At the mention of Lu Huaizhan, Zhu Yuan fell silent.

Dong Shu's tone softened, "Do you like Zhan Ge?"

"Mm."

It was the weekend, and in the afternoon Yuan Fengye had originally wanted to find Sheng Yu to play basketball, but a call went through with no answer.

He called Situ again, wanting to find out if Sheng Yu had gone to look for Zhu Yuan, so as not to disturb him.

Situ answered the phone, and only then did he learn that Sheng Yu had gone to the boxing gym.

By the time he rushed over, a boxer was being helped off the ring by two people.

Watching the man who had been beaten black and blue, Yuan Fengye's heart tightened.

He hurriedly quickened his pace.

On the ring, Sheng Yu was shirtless, sweat sliding from his jaw down to his collarbone, and then to his well-defined chest and abdomen.

He bit the strap of his boxing glove, tossed the gloves onto the floor, and picked up a bottle of water from the ground.

Only then did Yuan Fengye see that the corner of his mouth was split.

But compared to the sparring partner from just a moment ago, he looked much better.

"What happened?" Yuan Fengye asked Situ quietly.

Situ was expressionless.

"Did you have a fight?" he asked again.

Only then did Situ give an 'mm'.

Yuan Fengye looked at Sheng Yu, who had found another sparring partner on the ring, his heart pounding, "You can't beat people up like this just because you had a fight!"

With Sheng Yu's skills, who could withstand it?

The sound of fists hitting flesh made Yuan Fengye afraid just listening to it; finally, another sparring partner was beaten to the ground, and the sky had grown dark.

He leaned against the edge of the ring, "Yu Ge, let's go get a drink."

Sheng Yu tossed the water bottle aside and finally stepped off the ring.

Yuan Fengye let out a sigh of relief.

The night at Sheng Tang was brilliantly lit; the imitation-ancient architecture, once the lamps were lit one by one, was like a celestial palace, a place of jade towers and pavilions.

Yuan Fengye poured a glass of wine and placed it in front of Sheng Yu, "Yu Ge, when couples have a fight..."

Before he could finish his sentence, the man sitting beside him picked up the glass and downed it in one gulp.

At this moment, someone knocked on the door of the private room a few times.

The door pushed open, and Yuan Fengye was surprised to see Dong Shu.

"Why are you here?"

Dong Shu was wearing a long black coat, looking capable and spirited; the room was dimly lit, and she glanced at Sheng Yu, who was drinking gloomily across from her, her hand in her pocket tightening.

She walked over and sat down with a calm expression, "I just happened to be here, and heard you had come, so I came over to take a look."

Sheng Yu didn't even lift his eyelids.

Yuan Fengye signaled to Dong Shu with his eyes: Yu Ge is in a bad mood, don't provoke him.

After drinking for a while, Yuan Fengye received a phone call; it turned out that a younger sister he had taken out to play a few months ago was pregnant.

She was at the hospital now.

This had never happened before!

Yuan Fengye hung up the phone, feeling flustered, and said to Sheng Yu, "Yu Ge, I'm going to go check on that first."

"Go," Dong Shu swept a cool glance at him.

The private room door closed.

Only Sheng Yu and Dong Shu were left.

Sheng Yu reached out to grab the wine bottle, but it was taken away by another hand.

His fingertips unintentionally brushed against the back of Dong Shu's hand.

The corners of Dong Shu's mouth curved.

She picked up the wine bottle and poured it into his glass, "Yu Ge, I know you're in a bad mood because you fought with Zhu Yuan, but drinking too much hurts the body and the spirit."

Sheng Yu didn't touch that glass of wine.

Dong Shu watched him pick up another glass on his own, and she pursed her lips.

"Zhu Yuan said that she has never liked you."
