Chapter 26: The Tip of the Iceberg of Sheng Yu's True Face

~8 min read 1,482 words

The sagging fabric hung down, revealing more of her pinkish-white skin covered in red marks.

They were of varying sizes, some finger imprints and some pinch marks, with some colors deeper, verging on blue-purple.

One could imagine what kind of "brutality" she had suffered before this.

Even though he had his suspicions, upon seeing this scene, Sheng Yu's hand, which was tearing at Zhu Yuan's clothes, tightened; the shadows cast by the banana leaves outside the window fell beneath his eyelashes, his expression unreadable.

As his scorching fingertips swept over them, Zhu Yuan shuddered instinctively; she knew that explaining further would be of no use.

She reached back to pull her clothes together, but Sheng Yu saw through her intention at a glance; the hand that had torn her clothes clamped down on her wrist, pinning it against the door panel.

"What does this mean? You could scratch yourself like this?" The man's voice was extremely hoarse.

Zhu Yuan was forced into a position of surrender against the door; because her upper body was pressed so tightly, her waist sagged, and the humiliating posture reminded her of what happened last night; she glared at him with bloodshot eyes, "Let go of me!"

Sheng Yu stepped forward, bracing against her legs as she tried to kick backward, his voice drawing close to her ear, "You answer me first."

His perception of pain was not sensitive, and after he went back last night and showered, there had been nothing unusual.

It wasn't until he was getting dressed this morning that he saw two scratch marks behind his shoulder in the mirror.

They were thin and long.

They hadn't been there before, so they could only have been left behind last night.

If he had only forcibly kissed Zhu Yuan, he wouldn't have left scratch marks in that spot.

The only explanation was that Zhu Yuan had lied about what happened last night.

"Haven't you already guessed it! What else do you want me to say? Do you get a sense of accomplishment from hearing me recount everything that happened last night?" Zhu Yuan struggled desperately.

Her slender, white waist swayed before his eyes.

Sheng Yu's face was cold and grim as he raised his hand to take a drag of his cigarette, gripping her wrist tightly to restrain her, his voice low: "Don't move around."

"Sheng Yu, you fucking bas..."

Zhu Yuan's cursing was forced back as a hand smelling of tobacco pinched her jaw.

"What do you want to call me?"

Both her hands were free, but no matter how Zhu Yuan swung them, she couldn't hit Sheng Yu at all; in her desperation and rage, she bit down hard on the web of his hand, thinking of last night's humiliation, she used all her strength to bite down with red eyes.

She tasted blood, but the man did not let go.

Sheng Yu smashed the cigarette butt onto the ground, sparks flying; the hand pinching Zhu Yuan's jaw tightened abruptly, and Zhu Yuan gasped in pain, opening her mouth; the next second, the man lifted her chin, turned her face back, and leaned down close to her.

"You dare to kiss me, aren't you afraid that Lu Huaizhan will come looking for you in your dreams at midnight!"

The hand gripping her chin suddenly stiffened.

There were bloodshot streaks in Zhu Yuan's eyes, along with tears, humiliation, and hatred.

It was like a mirror reflecting Sheng Yu's gloomy face.

His fingers gently stroked Zhu Yuan's chin, and he sneered in a low voice, "I could sleep with you once, what else would I not dare to do."

As he spoke, he lowered his head and sucked on Zhu Yuan's lips, prying her teeth apart.

He blocked all of her emotions back inside.

The more Zhu Yuan struggled, the deeper he kissed; she bit down regardless, but it only earned her an even more frantic conquest from Sheng Yu.

The taste of blood spread between their lips.

Sheng Yu's movements paused only slightly; his black eyes reflected Zhu Yuan's humiliated, pale face, and he closed his eyes again.

It wasn't until the phone rang that Sheng Yu let her go; he ignored the phone entirely, letting the ringtone stop on its own.

His rough thumb wiped the blood from the corner of Zhu Yuan's mouth; there was not a shred of lust in his eyes, only indifference, "Nothing more than this."

As the shackles on her waist loosened, Zhu Yuan clutched her torn clothes and moved to open the door.

Suddenly, a coat carrying the man's body heat was thrown onto her.

In her peripheral vision, Sheng Yu walked to the table and drank the cup of tea she hadn't finished in one gulp, "I will have someone arrange a good hospital room for your grandfather."

Zhu Yuan gripped the coat tightly with both hands, "No need, I will find a way to pay you back as soon as possible."

"By selling a kidney or through the Pei Family Bank?" Sheng Yu tossed the teacup aside.

That cold tone reduced a person to dust.

A sour sensation surged into her nasal cavity; Zhu Yuan pressed her tongue against the roof of her mouth to suppress the strange feeling, and without looking back, she said, "Then there is no need to trouble Young Master Yu."

The sliding door opened and closed.

Sheng Yu picked up the lighter on the table to light a cigarette; he flicked the wheel a few times before the flame finally flared up.

Zhu Yuan walked quickly back to the dressing room, changed out of her costume, and then left the Theater to hail a taxi to the hospital.

After the car drove away, she hugged her shivering self tightly.

The matter had been exposed after all.

Just now, she felt as if she had caught a glimpse of the tip of the iceberg of Sheng Yu's true face.

Like a disguised predator.

Would Sheng Yu let her go so easily?

A black sedan was parked at the back door of the Theater.

As soon as Situ saw Sheng Yu come out, he opened the car door; waiting for Sheng Yu to approach, he felt the cold, frozen aura on the man and suddenly shivered.

"Young Master Yu, Miss Zhu took a taxi and left."

Just five minutes ago.

Sheng Yu gave a blank "mm."

The car door closed, and Situ dared not delay in the slightest; before even starting the car, he immediately reported what he had investigated.

"Young Master Yu, after we left last night, Miss Zhu went to the pharmacy at the entrance to buy something."

"Buy what?"

Situ glanced at the rearview mirror, his tone as calm as possible: "Contraceptive pills."

……

The debauchery of Sheng Tang had only just pulled back the curtain on the night.

Inside the penthouse suite, the lights were dim; Sheng Yu, wearing a black bathrobe, held a wine glass, pulled open the bar drawer, and took out a brand-new bank card from inside.

He pinched the bank card between his fingers, turning it left and right to glance at it.

In his mind, an image surfaced of Lu Huaizhan lying in a hospital bed, coughing while tightly gripping his hand to entrust him with a request.

"Yu Ge, I like Zhu Yuan. It was so hard for me to finally meet someone I like, but I know I won't live much longer."

"Grandma certainly won't protect her, and the people of the Zhu Family won't treat her with sincerity either. Yu Ge, please help me protect her and take care of her; don't let anyone bully her."

"This is fifty million I saved for her. If I give it to her now, with her personality, she definitely won't take it and might even scold me; I don't want to make her angry. In the future, if she is in need, please give it to her for me to help her through her difficulties."

"Yu Ge, I only trust you."

In the dim light, the red wine reflected Sheng Yu's expressionless face, his dark eyes seemingly harboring a dense, murky gloom.

He set down the wine glass and, without a moment's hesitation, tossed the bank card into the trash can.

He leaned against the bar to light a cigarette, lowering his eyes to look at the drawer.

His slender fingers picked up another item from inside the drawer.

An IOU with a thumbprint pressed onto it.

The handwriting was crooked, and one could faintly smell a light scent of roses.

The corners of Sheng Yu's expressionless face curled up slightly.

He held the IOU in one hand and pressed a lighter with the other.

The tongue of flame instantly licked across the paper, and in no time at all, it turned to ash, burying the bank card in the trash can.
