Chapter 109: You Can't Judge, I

~7 min read 1,220 words

Jiang Yuanchao clearly didn't believe it, his words carrying a provocation tone.

Lu Cheng didn't refute on the spot either: "Then please have Group Leader Jiang bring your team members and wait outside the Dining Car first."

Jiang Yuanchao replied reluctantly: "You judge yours, I'll just observe and learn; why let me go out, what exactly are you going to judge?"

"Sorry, Group Leader Jiang, I'm the one who caught them now, how I judge is my business; you all should go out first, lest you get splattered with blood later!"

Lu Cheng said that while driving all the members of Group Three out.

When Jiang Yuanchao heard about getting splattered with blood, he suddenly realized something: "Hey, you can't hit people; if you do, I'll report you to Ding Jingzhang."

Lu Cheng, most annoyed by those who love filing petty reports, waved his hand: "Big guy, block the door; don't let even a fly get in."

Zhao Jinzhu nodded: "Yes, Leader."

These three big guys, though looking dumb, obey orders; when Lu Cheng spoke, Jiang Yuanchao, fearing another forced confession, tried to rush in to block, but was firmly stopped by the big guy.

"Lu Cheng, don't act rashly; you can't keep making mistakes, do you still want to lose points?"

Jiang Yuanchao shouted there, but Lu Cheng ignored him, swinging his wrist as he walked toward the two swindlers.

The two were terrified; unlike the previous group leader, whose temper was also bad, at least he followed regulations—without evidence, he wouldn't dare beat a passenger.

But Lu Cheng isn't like that; the two had experienced him before—he's downright a reckless scoundrel.

They fear no one; the more honest a person is, the easier they are to extort, but someone like Lu Cheng doesn't play by any rules.

"You, you can't hit people!"

"Exactly, even if you beat us and we admit it, does that count as evidence?"

Lu Cheng swung his wrist and laughed: "Did I say I was looking for evidence? I just don't like you two, wanted to punch you…"

The man, terrified, shouted: "He's hitting people, hitting people! Is there any justice? The Train Police are indiscriminate, hitting people!"

At that moment, Chang Jinbu shouted from outside: "Leader, Leader, we caught a thief!"

Hearing the voice, Lu Cheng tossed the two aside: "You two stay crouched here; I'll deal with that thief first, then deal with you."

Lu Cheng waved his hand as he said: "Bring that thief in."

Chang Jinbu also mimicked the wave: "Da Kui, bring him in."

Niu Da Kui escorted a thief dressed as a commoner, his face whiter than flour, into the room.

That thief was Liu Jian'an, freshly made up.

At the thought of what was about to happen, Liu Jian'an couldn't help but laugh on the spot; no matter how Chang Jinbu squinted or gestured, Liu Jian'an laughed uncontrollably as if his laugh point had been pressed.

If this continues, how can it work? People will notice the details.

Lu Cheng reacted swiftly, leapt up and slapped him.

"Laughing after stealing someone's stuff, you still dare to laugh!"

Liu Jian'an winced in pain, instantly stopped laughing.

Lu Cheng took two steps in place: "Did you steal someone's belongings? Hand it over."

Liu Jian'an lifted his chin: "I didn't steal!"

"Hmph, your mouth is pretty tough. Others say you stole; you say you didn't, then you didn't?"

"I really didn't steal; if you don't believe, search me."

Chang Jinbu said beside him: "Leader, we already searched; there's truly nothing. Should we let him go?"

"Let him go? No, if others say he stole, he must have; without cause, who would falsely accuse?" Lu Cheng squinted.

Chang Jinbu blinked and whispered: "What's wrong, Leader?"

Lu Cheng whispered back: "Where's the knife? Give it to me."

"Oh, it's here." Chang Jinbu handed the knife he fetched from the back kitchen to Lu Cheng.

"One more time, do you admit stealing?" Lu Cheng pressed the knife to Liu Jian'an's chest.

"I didn't steal, I really didn't; even if you kill me, I won't admit it."

"Your mouth is pretty tough; today I'll see just how tough it is!"

After speaking, Lu Cheng sidestepped, blocking the two swindlers' view, then with the knife plunged toward Liu Jian'an's abdomen.

"Psch— psch—" he stabbed several times.

Liu Jian'an let out a "Aa‑aa" scream.

Honestly, it sounded very fake.

But after Lu Cheng stabbed five or six times and withdrew, seeing Liu Jian'an's abdomen drenched in blood, the two swindlers' eyes widened instantly.

He's not a thief, so why stab him? Even if he doesn't admit it, you can't knife someone.

What kind of Train Police is this, fiercer than bandits?

As Liu Jian'an covered his abdomen and lay down, a woman opened her mouth, taking a long time before speaking: "Murder, a murder…"

The two exchanged glances, showing terrified expressions.

Steal something and kill a person?

The two were a bit skeptical, but at that moment Jiang Mengmeng rushed in, and without a word, hugged the thief's corpse and began to cry.

"Wah, there's no justice, a murder! My poor beloved, so young and already gone, wah…"

Jiang Mengmeng wept and sang, her tears tearing her liver, and anyone who saw felt sorrow for the dead "thief."

Even the two swindlers believed her, feeling sympathy and thinking Lu Cheng was too excessive.

It's just stealing something; the crime shouldn't merit death, right?

And they, swindling tens of yuan a day, aren't they breaking heavenly law? Deserve a thousand cuts!

Chang Jinbu stepped forward and asked: "Leader, he's out of breath, what now?"

Lu Cheng waved his hand: "Open the train window and throw him down to feed the Wolf."

"Yes, Leader." Chang Jinbu also waved: "Did you hear, Da Kui, drag him out to feed the dog."

Niu Da Kui sniffed: "Is it feeding the wolf or feeding the dog?"

Chang Jinbu said impatiently: "Same same, you feed whoever you want to feed!"

Niu Da Kui looked bewildered: "Who am I supposed to feed?"

Chang Jinbu sighed: "Then feed the dog."

"Oh, feed the dog!" Niu Da Kui grabbed one of Liu Jian'an's legs and dragged him outside to look for a dog.

"To put on a show, you have to go all out." Jiang Mengmeng followed up, still wiping tears as she cried.

Group Three outside all looked bewildered; perhaps the two swindlers' perspective was off, but Jiang Yuanchao saw everything—the knives were all stabbed toward Liu Jian'an's armpit, and the blood on his belly was from some blood bag they'd found somewhere, which had been squeezed open.

What is Lu Cheng trying to do? Jiang Yuanchao quickly understood.

Since we can't find evidence, we'll force them to confess voluntarily.

But this isn't just messing around! It's purely to scare people.

Jiang Yuanchao felt a bit ashamed of this method, but it seems there's nothing better.

When Lu Cheng hefted the bloody knife and walked toward the two swindlers, they shrank into the corner, trembling.

"The thieves have been dealt with—now it's your two turns!"

Lu Cheng wore a grim expression, stuck out his tongue, licked the bloody blade's tip, then threw the knife in front of them.

With a clang, their faces turned deathly pale; they scrambled up and knelt on the ground.
