Chapter 3: Lion Pride Crisis

For the next few days, Chen Mo ran around the lion pride.

A new self‑discipline has emerged; how could it stagnate~

Besides that, Chen Mo observed the lion mother's hunt, combining human thought to devise his own fighting style.

He will eventually have to leave the pride and become independent; hunting is his instinct and the foundation for his future survival and rule on this plain.

On the other side, the other cubs were stunned to see the limping "Xiao Quezi", whose speed was unlike that of ordinary lions.

What the hell is this cripple!? They recalled Xiao Quezi's recent odd behavior—running around the pride every day with little steps!

Could it be—a special training method that lets one run faster!? Kuang Biao Shi self‑discipline challenge, day four.

Early in the morning, Chen Mo saw several other cubs trotting around their mother with "little steps", even their play‑fighting began with little steps!

The scene looked extremely funny and amusing.

Chen Mo:? Your little‑step step‑count technique was just copied like that? The problem is you don't even have a system! He realized he had severely underestimated the pride's intelligence; such mimicry clearly requires a certain level of animal wit.

The mothers of these cubs did not stop their children's little‑step behavior.

After all, the changes in Xiao Quezi were evident to them; ten days ago he was a discarded cripple, now he moves as if flying! If "little steps" weren't so stupid, they'd all want to try it.

Fine, let their own cub try it first; if it works, they'll decide later! Though Lion Mother was puzzled by Xiao Quezi's transformation, her eyes showed more gratitude and affection.

With ample food, Chen Mo clearly felt his emaciated body "thriving".

With the title's bonus, Chen Mo felt he might soon gain the ability to survive outside the pride.

Perhaps a month, or perhaps several months.

Yet no one knows whether tomorrow or an accident will arrive first.

Kuang Biao Shi challenge, day six morning: while Chen Mo was sprinting around the pride in self‑discipline, two terrifying, unfamiliar lion roars echoed from afar.

It was another male lion!

And there were two! Lion dad Chi Ruan Fan was startled awake, let out a deafening roar in response, then bolted toward the source of the roars!

Chen Mo instantly realized a dreadful fact—

Another stray male lion had entered their territory and was about to wage a life‑or‑death battle with Chi Ruan Fan!

Chen Mo had seen related documentaries in the animal world.

A young male lion challenges the old lion king; if he defeats the old king, he not only gains the king's territory but also all the pride's females! As for the old king's cubs…

To display his authority to the lion mother and make her come into heat again, the new lion king will brutally kill them all in front of her! "Come on, Soft Rice Male! If you win, you won't be called Soft Rice Male anymore; you'll be called lion dad!"

No matter how much Chen Mo disliked his Soft Rice Male, he sincerely hoped Soft Rice Male could drive away the two strangers and win the battle! He had only just enjoyed a few days of peace and didn't want that tranquility shattered.

At this moment, the lion mothers' eyes were filled with tension and worry.

Except for lion sister Ai Sha, the other cubs trembled, curled up in their mothers' laps.

After thinking it over, Chen Mo decided to slip away first.

Chi Ruan Fan was no longer in his prime, and the opponents were brother male lions; his chances were indeed slim.

Staying here, if those two challengers won, death awaited him! If Chi Ruan Fan won, he… he would shamelessly return.

Awo~

He let out a roar toward Lion Mother and Ai Sha, hoping they'd run with him.

Though he didn't know if they could understand.

Roar!

Lion Mother nudged Ai Sha with a paw, then pointed toward Chen Mo's escape route.

Her meaning was clear—to let her two cubs flee together.

Roar~

Ai Sha let out a baby‑like roar at her mother, wanting her mother to flee with them.

Lion Mother shook her head, then kicked Ai Sha, as if urging.

Ai Sha, though worried about her mother, instantly followed Chen Mo's escape direction without hesitation. As for the other cubs, some wanted to run too, but seeing their mothers beside them, they ultimately held back.

Perhaps they believed their mother would protect them, or perhaps they trusted their strong, imposing father to drive away the enemy.

Seeing Ai Sha following behind, Chen Mo was not particularly surprised.

Earlier he had noticed that the lions of this reborn pride generally possessed high intelligence.

Especially his lion sister Ai Sha, whose displayed intellect and emotions were comparable to a ten‑year‑old child! After running for an unknown time, the two cubs reached the far edge of the pride's territory.

This spot was relatively safe; the pheromones Chi Ruan Fan left earlier would deter other predators.

The two cubs gazed at the distant sunset, their hearts filled with unease.

The battle between the male lions should have ended.

It was unclear who had won.

They dared not rush back, silently praying their father would achieve final victory.

Chen Mo glanced at the self‑discipline challenge; Kuang Biao Shi's progress bar had reached (6/7).

If he disciplined himself one more day tomorrow, he could earn the Kuang Biao Shi title.

Early the next morning.

When dawn was just breaking, Chen Mo was already awake.

Without the pride's protection, he had slept lightly yesterday, constantly on guard for night‑time dangers.

Better to get up early and finish the self‑discipline challenge.

Roar~

A juvenile lion's roar came from beside him.

Lion sister Ai Sha was clearly the same, not daring to sleep the whole night.

This young lioness, which originally appeared extremely strong, now also had eyes full of confusion, not knowing where to go.

Roar~

Chen Mo pointed toward the original direction of the lion pride.

He wanted to see how things were yesterday.

Roar!

Aisha nodded, then closely followed behind it.

Although it didn't know what had happened to its younger brother these past days, the astonishing speed it had shown before, along with its clearly higher intelligence compared to other lion cubs, gave it a certain trust in him.

Even if it itself wasn't aware of it.

After running for about an hour, with stops and starts along the way, Chen Mo stopped mainly to wait for Lion Sister.

【Berserk Lion】 greatly increased its stamina; Chen Mo can now sprint continuously for 10 minutes, and steady jogging can exceed one hour!

Finally, near a patch of grassland where the lionesses often hunted, Chen Mo once again saw Lion Mother, as well as three other lionesses.

Their eyes were filled with sorrow that could not be concealed.

The result was obvious.

Their father had been defeated.

Now the leader of the lion pride is those two newly arrived wandering male lions!

As for the other lion cubs, they were clearly more likely to suffer misfortune than fortune.

Without hesitation, Chen Mo turned and ran.

He could no longer return to the lion pride!

If discovered by the male lion patrolling the territory, he would have only a dead end! (End of chapter)
