Chapter 495: It Was You Who Said Not to Hold Back
Hearing Yu Dazhang's cry for help, Li Mingzhao immediately made a phone call.
He then approached, squatted down, and checked Ying Xuelian's condition.
At this moment, Ying Xuelian's face was deathly pale, but her eyes were still open, and she appeared to be conscious.
Li Mingzhao breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at her abdomen.
The knife was still stuck in her belly, but not much blood was flowing.
"No need to be afraid," he said softly to Ying Xuelian:
"No vital organs were hit; there is no danger to your life."
Ying Xuelian moved her lips slightly, as if wanting to speak, but Li Mingzhao stopped her.
"Save whatever you have to say for later."
While they were speaking, an ambulance roared up and quickly stopped by the roadside.
Such operations require prior coordination with emergency services, so this ambulance had actually come around via the main entrance.
The doors opened, medical staff jumped down quickly, performed simple first aid on Ying Xuelian, and then loaded her onto the ambulance.
"I'm going with you."
Yu Dazhang, clutching his wrist, tried to get into the vehicle with them.
"Where do you think you're going?" Li Mingzhao blocked him:
"I've had Ye Lin go along; you stay here to explain the situation."
By now, the man and woman had been restrained by Xiao Yi and the others; not only were they handcuffed, but mouth guards had also been fitted over their mouths.
Actually, such trouble wasn't necessary.
The woman was still unconscious, and the man was paralyzed on one side, slumped on the ground; there was no way they could escape.
It seemed their injuries were even more severe than Ying Xuelian's, yet they received no treatment on the ambulance.
The National Security Bureau clearly had other plans for them.
"Leader, I'm injured too."
Yu Dazhang gestured for Li Mingzhao to look at his wrist:
"That woman almost severed my tendon just now; if I hadn't reacted quickly, I'd be disabled by now."
Strange as it was, when he was first injured, his wrist was bleeding, but now not only had the bleeding stopped, the pain was gone too.
Yet he still clutched his wrist, pretending to be suffering heavily.
"Let go of your hand; let me see."
Hearing him describe it so severely, Li Mingzhao couldn't help but grow tense.
If tendon or nerve damage had truly occurred, it could very likely cause future mobility impairment.
Seeing that Li Mingzhao wanted to look, Yu Dazhang had no choice but to loosen his grip and offer his wrist.
The injury wasn't fake, so there was nothing for him to hide.
Li Mingzhao leaned in to examine it closely, but after just one glance, he drew his gaze back.
"If you'd delayed a bit longer, this injury would have already healed."
He reached out and slapped Yu Dazhang's wrist:
"Don't make a fuss; it's just a small cut that broke the skin and drew a little blood; it doesn't even count as an external wound."
Hearing him say so, Yu Dazhang withdrew his hand, moved his wrist, and only then breathed a sigh of relief after confirming there was no problem.
It wasn't that he was making a mountain out of a molehill; that woman's triangular bayonet was simply terrifying.
Who could have thought that being slashed by such a weapon would result in nothing more than a small cut?
"Explain."
Li Mingzhao pointed sternly toward the back door:
"What is going on here? Did you do all of this?"
The scene at the back door was truly gruesome.
Outside lay two corpses, and inside the door, six more bodies had fallen.
These corpses made the already narrow passage even more congested.
Li Mingzhao, Xiao Yi, and the others had just charged out by stepping over the corpses inside the door.
"Yes."
Yu Dazhang nodded:
"At first, I tried to capture them alive, but these people were like madmen, determined to kill me, so I had no choice but to follow your orders and hold nothing back."
He remembered clearly that when Li Mingzhao gave the order to Xiao Yi, he had said not to hold back.
So what he did was, in a sense, obeying orders.
"I did say not to hold back."
Li Mingzhao said irritably:
"But I didn't say leave no survivors. Besides, why didn't you fire your gun?"
He thought Yu Dazhang was being arrogant; facing so many people, he hadn't fired a single shot.
