Chapter 108: Neutral Tavern, Silver Coin
"It's still the same question: the official handling is simpler than you think, but who is going to play the villain?"
Luosha shot Lu Chen a look of annoyance.
Lu Chen nodded silently.
Since force could not solve this problem, only one path remained.
After quite a while, Lu Chen finally looked up at Luosha.
"Then let's go; I want to see what they are up to."
"It's very simple. They'll probably just have you sign a contract regarding the stone slab, leaving it for them to handle. Many big shots have signed it, including me, but this contract doesn't actually have much impact."
"Hmm?" This book is first published on Tian Tian Kan Novels, ttk. tw, for a worry-free reading experience that provides you with error-free and correctly ordered chapters.
Listening to Luosha's words, Lu Chen frowned.
He looked at Luosha with some surprise.
"Just that?"
"Pfft... just that."
Luosha couldn't help it and laughed out loud.
The entire room felt as if spring had arrived.
The previously heavy atmosphere suddenly dissipated.
"Back then, the situation I encountered was even more..."
"However, if you think it's simple, you can go yourself; just don't get dragged off later."
Luosha glanced at Lu Chen, a hint of amusement flashing in her eyes.
"Let's go, Ms. Luosha."
Lu Chen took a deep look at Luosha, crushed his cigarette, and then stood up.
Luosha sighed softly, stood up, and picked up her trench coat.
"Let's go, Mr. Lu. I hope you won't be impulsive at the Neutral Tavern; I'm here for anything that happens."
Lu Chen nodded slightly, and the motorcade headed toward Kasuweier Jie.
As the motorcade moved along, the street became increasingly desolate. By the time they reached this street, Lu Chen felt that every gaze from outside the car seemed to carry malice.
It was even completely out of place with the environment of the rest of Xianggang.
"Don't look; they are all mercenaries and killers."
Luosha spoke softly, her tone unconsciously carrying a hint of gravity.
"The rules here are indeed different from those in Xianggang, but there is one thing here: violence is prohibited."
Luosha reached out and pointed at someone outside the window.
"See that one? He's an international patrol officer, and the two next to him are local. Every Neutral Tavern has people watching, 24 hours a day."
Lu Chen took a deep look, and only then did Luosha whisper.
"Tell your men not to get out of the car; you just come in with me. It's best not to bring any weapons inside, though it doesn't matter if you do, just don't use them."
Lu Chen nodded silently, unbuttoned his suit jacket, and showed her.
This earned him a roll of the eyes from Luosha, who seemed to glance at Lu Chen's side once more.
Only after the car came to a steady stop did she get out first.
Lu Chen's lips curled up slightly; he re-buttoned his jacket, straightened his suit, and then stepped out.
He walked toward the tavern entrance with Luosha.
Upon entering the tavern, the dim lighting made Lu Chen feel somewhat uncomfortable.
The various people drinking in the tavern swept their eyes over Lu Chen and Luosha before turning away.
At most, they lingered on him for a moment, seemingly having no interest in Luosha at all.
"Hello, who are you looking for?"
Seeing Luosha enter, the tavern waiter immediately stepped forward and bowed slightly.
Then he looked up at Lu Chen behind her, before his gaze fell back onto Luosha.
"If you wish to apply for membership, please present a Silver Coin."
"His Silver Coin is covered by Fan Er. Please help me invite him down and find an empty conference room."
The smile on Luosha's face remained unchanged as she spoke softly.
She stood still for a moment and reached out to take Lu Chen's arm.
The waiter nodded slightly, took a deep look at Lu Chen, and a flash of surprise crossed his eyes.
He turned back to the front desk, grabbed the phone, and said a few strange words that left Lu Chen feeling bewildered.
But he waited calmly for Luosha's arrangements.
After hanging up the phone, the waiter gestured slightly, leading them to an old-fashioned metal elevator door.
He exchanged a look with the attendant inside, whispered a few of those strange-sounding words, and then bowed.
Luosha and Lu Chen nodded slightly and stepped into the elevator to stand.
"Please, the small conference room arranged for you is Room 307. You may use it for 3 hours; Mr. Fan Er will arrive shortly."
As Luosha stepped out of the elevator, a waiter was already waiting at the door.
Luosha nodded slightly.
The waiter continued.
"Sir, Mr. Fan Er has already paid for the Silver Coin required for your primary membership. For the first time, you can purchase one Silver Coin for 1 million pounds, with a limit of 10. If you need them, you can come to the tavern to handle it at any time."
"I'll take all 10. You'll find a use for them; the first one is 1 million, and every one after that is 10 million."
Luosha glanced at the waiter, rolled her eyes, and spoke softly.
"There is only this one chance."
The attendant nodded slightly, not denying it; after opening the room door, he took a metal detector from the cabinet in the corner, swept it around the room, and only then nodded slightly and bowed as he exited the room.
Lu Chen took a deep look at Luosha, then sat down on the sofa.
"What is this Silver Coin?"
Luosha took a Silver Coin from her bosom and tossed it onto the side table next to Lu Chen.
"It is just it, a perfectly ordinary Silver Coin; I even have the ability to forge it, but..."
Luosha took a deep look at Lu Chen, a hint of a smile in her eyes.
Lu Chen reached out to turn on the floor lamp beside the sofa and examined it carefully.
It was indeed ordinary, but in a tiny corner, there was a scratch.
No, it was not a scratch; it should be a symbol.
"The scratch you see belongs to my mark; everyone who buys a Tavern Silver Coin has such a symbol, and they will record the number of symbols."
Lu Chen narrowed his eyes, nodded slightly, and returned the Silver Coin to Luosha.
Afterward, he closed his eyes slightly, silently digesting the information he had received.
Before long, a light knock on the door sounded; Lu Chen opened his eyes, and a young man pushed the door open and walked in.
This made Lu Chen freeze for a moment.
This was completely different from what he had imagined.
"Hello, I am Fan Er."
Fan Er spoke softly, glanced at Luosha, and walked directly in front of Lu Chen.
"I didn't expect Mr. Lu to be so punctual; I thought it would take some effort."
Lu Chen froze again and glanced at Luosha.
He saw her nod slightly.
Lu Chen frowned, then stood up and spoke.
"I didn't expect Mr. Fan Er to be so young."
He reached out to shake hands with Fan Er, then sat back down on the sofa.
He crossed his legs, lit a 555, and took a puff.
Seeing Fan Er sit down, Lu Chen then spoke.
"Mr. Fan Er, what do you want by looking for me? I don't seem to recall having any dealings with you all, do I?"
Fan Er looked up at Lu Chen, took a Cigar case from his bosom, and pulled one out.
He gave the Cigar case a light flick, and it slid steadily in front of Lu Chen.
Only then did he begin to preheat it.
Lu Chen froze for a moment, also took his own Cigar case from his bosom, and gave it a slight shake toward Fan Er.
He pushed Fan Er's Cigar case back.
After finishing the 555, he then pulled a Cigar from his own Cigar case.
Luosha sat to the side without speaking, just silently puffing on a lady's cigarette.
