Chapter 125: No. 9 Document?
In the afternoon, after Lu Chen and Elder Sun enjoyed some cigars, Luosha finally walked in, looking travel-worn.
"Girl, where have you been running wild again? Don't tell me you went to cause trouble for the Yamaguchi-gumi?"
Elder Sun glanced at Luosha and asked in a soft voice.
"No, I went to handle some trouble over in Europe."
Luosha gave Lu Chen a deep look before speaking softly.
"Things over in Europe are getting more and more outrageous; they actually detained my fleet. I spent several hours on the phone, and I'll need to head over there later."
Lu Chen was stunned for a moment and looked at Luosha. She didn't seem to have dressed up properly today, wearing only light makeup; however, given Luosha's natural features, she was a great beauty even without makeup.
Luosha glared fiercely at Lu Chen before sitting on the sofa and taking a puff of her lady's cigarette.
"They claimed they found contraband over there, but the problem is that the ship was carrying yarn. As if there's any damn contraband in that."
Luosha scratched her hair in annoyance, took two puffs of her cigarette, and then spoke.
"The profit from yarn now exceeds that of most contraband; only a fool would smuggle anything else."
"Alright, alright, which port is it? I'll give Chairman Shi a call and have him help handle it."
Elder Sun took a sip of tea with some resignation before speaking softly.
"Why don't you call? You're both shareholders of Crown anyway, and you deal with each other more often."
Luosha nodded slightly, and at this moment, Butler Wang walked to the entrance of the reception hall and knocked gently on the door.
Lu Chen was stunned for a moment, stood up to excuse himself, and then left the reception hall.
"What is it?"
"A call came from home; the Neutral Tavern has sent you an Invitation Letter, inviting you to attend a private auction tonight. As a newcomer to Xianggang this year, you can obtain one auction item for a single Silver Coin."
Butler Wang bowed slightly and handed Lu Chen an Invitation Letter.
"Understood. I will go with Elder Sun and the others tonight."
Lu Chen took the Invitation Letter; it was exactly the same as the one Elder Sun had given him.
Lu Chen frowned, a flash of sharp light crossing his eyes.
He tossed a 555 cigarette to Butler Wang and lit one for himself.
After finishing it, he returned to the reception hall.
Upon returning to the reception hall, Lu Chen took out two Invitation Letters, placed them on the coffee table, and silently began to preheat a cigar.
"Elder Sun, my butler just told me that I also received an Invitation Letter from the Neutral Tavern."
"Oh? A newcomer? Did Luosha introduce you to the Neutral Tavern?"
A look of surprise appeared on Elder Sun's face, but it quickly turned into pleasant surprise.
"Newcomer benefits! You won't have such good luck next time. The Neutral Tavern's private auctions are divided by groups; if it's not related to you, you won't receive auction eligibility at all. Only newcomers ignore this rule, but it only happens this once."
Elder Sun suddenly became interested, took a puff of his cigar, and continued.
"This opportunity is rare. You can browse everything the Neutral Tavern plans to auction for the next half year, that is, until the first quarter of next year. Of course, some items are unexpected, like the No. 9 Shipping Document. Seize the opportunity well. If there's nothing you're interested in, choose something of high value, like this document, which can provide you with a stable cash flow."
Elder Sun sipped his tea before speaking softly.
"For example, Stone Tablet Fragments, and so on. Actually, the Neutral Tavern auctions all of these. Since you have a connection with the Neutral Tavern, I assume the Saiyang Organization has contacted you as well."
"Then does Saiyang not have an agreement with the Neutral Tavern regarding time?"
Lu Chen frowned, a flash of sharp light crossing his eyes.
"The Neutral Tavern doesn't need one; its inventory could make Saiyang go bankrupt in an instant. The Neutral Tavern doesn't need to trade with Saiyang, but everyone who can attend the auction has signed an agreement with Saiyang."
Elder Sun looked at Lu Chen with a smile, and after a while, he added a sentence.
"The tactics they play are dirty, but effective, aren't they?"
Lu Chen nodded thoughtfully, and after a long while, he seemed to have figured it out.
"Chairman Shi has agreed to it."
Luosha had also returned and spoke softly.
Letting out a long breath, she rubbed her temples.
"Hegel Port is truly too troublesome. Next time, the fleet won't resupply there. I'll have Chairman Shi re-plan a docking port for me; every time, I run into trouble there."
"Hegel Port, huh? That port is indeed troublesome."
Elder Sun sighed before speaking softly.
"Who told it to guard the main thoroughfare? It occupies a good location, and most shipping routes to Europe can't bypass it. What do they want to do this time?"
"My people told me they want to release a portion of Xianggang's supplies to be loaded from their side, but the things from Hegel really aren't much."
Luosha took a puff of her lady's cigarette with some resignation, and after a long while, she spoke softly.
"Their goods are sold to Africa, and even there, few people buy them."
"Chairman Shi will resolve it. Hmm, I remember the No. 9 Document should also include Hegel Port. Little Lu, the pressure tonight is all on you."
Elder Sun glanced at Lu Chen and offered a soft reminder.
"However, there is one issue: holding this document means that in the event of a future war, your fleet will be conscripted into the core logistics system and bear the highest-risk transport missions. Of course, if you don't have a fleet, it doesn't matter. This is your only chance."
Lu Chen tapped the armrest of the sofa in silence and nodded slightly.
He understood everything Elder Sun said, and the risks implied in the document were actually clear to Lu Chen as well.
But now that World War II had ended, there would be no more large-scale naval battles in the world; this risk could be said to be infinitely close to zero.
What Elder Sun said really made him feel tempted.
"Alright, Little Lu, you're a newcomer, and now there are only 2 hours left; we should set off."
Elder Sun glanced at his watch, then at Luosha, before speaking softly.
Luosha also stood up and stretched, revealing her beautiful curves.
"Let's go. Go early so you can flip through and see if there's anything interesting. If you're interested, take it. As for the document, it depends on your mood. After all, this is the only time the Neutral Tavern will show you its entire collection; don't be in a hurry to choose."
Luosha walked side-by-side with Lu Chen at the rear and spoke softly to offer a reminder.
"I have seen the auction items at the Neutral Tavern once; there are quite a few fun trinkets inside."
A hint of curiosity appeared in Lu Chen's eyes, and he nodded slightly.
He arrived at the Neutral Tavern together with Luosha and the others.
Laites did not show his face; instead, a waiter led them to the fourth basement level.
"Mr. semsn2, please follow me. Mr. Laites is waiting for you in his office."
The waiter guided Lu Chen and walked toward another direction.
"Welcome, we meet again, Mr. Lu."
Laites rose from the dim office, nodded slightly to the waiter outside the door, and the door closed.
Only then did he stand up and shake hands with Lu Chen.
"Mr. Lu, regarding what you see and hear today, please keep it confidential after leaving this office. If you can do that, please sign this document first."
