Chapter 98: Alliance Meeting

Arriving in the reception hall, Lu Chen took the documents from Steward Wang's hands and passed them to Professor Li.

"Uncle Li, please take a look at this proposal."

Professor Li placed it on the coffee table, lit a 555, and took a sip of coffee.

Only then did he open the document bag and begin to read it in detail.

After a long while, Professor Li finally took a pen and drew a few circles on the document.

"Here, and here, there are legal issues."

Professor Li spread the document out, pointed at the spot with his pen, and looked at Lu Chen.

"Little Lu, your idea is good, but this equity structure and profit-sharing will cause you to lose absolute control. Once you lose control, you won't be far from being a figurehead."

Professor Li gave Lu Chen a deep look, crossed his legs, and lit himself another 555.

He took a deep drag, watched Lu Chen fall into deep thought, and was not in a hurry.

After quite a while, Lu Chen finally spoke.

"Uncle Li, what if we change to another structure? An acting-in-concert agreement..."

Lu Chen took out the second set of plans he had prepared, which were slightly more complex than the first.

Professor Li took the documents and began to read them again.

"This proposal is more complete, but it also has subtle legal issues; in the territory of Xianggang, this is a legal vacuum."

"That is something I left intentionally."

Lu Chen paused before speaking.

"I left a backdoor here. If they want to utilize it, they have to execute it through the acting-in-concert agreement, and then how it gets executed is up to me."

He picked up the cigarettes on the table, lit one for himself, took a deep drag, and then continued.

"If the project can't be pushed forward in the later stages, this vacuum can also give us a chance to withdraw."

"You kid, were you trying to fool me with the first proposal?"

Professor Li was stunned for a moment, then smiled and reached out to point at Lu Chen.

"Change two terms here. Since you've designed an escape route, the language here needs to be designed to be more covert."

After Lu Chen took the document, he read it carefully, changed one more word, and then handed it to Professor Li.

After Professor Li nodded slightly, Lu Chen stood up.

"Secretary Shen, print 10 copies of this document."

"Sir, Miss Luosha is here."

Steward Wang seized the opportunity to interject.

"Invite her in."

Lu Chen nodded slightly and stood at the door without moving, instead turning his head to look at Professor Li.

"Uncle Li, Miss Luosha is here."

Professor Li did not reply, but nodded slightly.

He took a light sip of tea.

Today, Luosha was not wearing a red dress, but had changed into a crisp suit.

This caused a flash of amazement in Lu Chen's eyes.

Luosha reached out slightly, shook hands with Lu Chen, walked into the small reception hall, and then saw Professor Li sitting there.

Professor Li nodded slightly and pointed to the sofa beside him.

"Professor Li."

Luosha bowed slightly and sat down beside Professor Li.

"Little Luo, you've been making quite a few moves lately."

Professor Li took a puff of his cigarette, poured a cup of tea for Luosha, and then spoke.

"You should be aware that Saiyang has recently arrived in Xianggang."

Luosha glanced at Lu Chen, then picked up the teacup and took a light sip.

She took a lady's cigarette from her suit pocket and lit it for herself.

"With them in Xianggang, I can't sleep well. You should have heard about what happened last night, right?"

"I am aware of that, but aren't you and them supposed to keep to your own sides? Why did they come after you?"

A flash of surprise crossed Professor Li's eyes, and his tone was no longer as relaxed as before; the entire small reception hall was suddenly filled with gravity.

"Not exactly, but someone official got dragged into it, so I have to handle it."

Luosha shrugged her shoulders and continued.

"Besides, that troublemaker Wodehua is still in Xianggang; I can't just let him die, can I?"

"So he is in Xianggang. No wonder; I hadn't looked into that matter."

Professor Li nodded, took out the document that had just been revised, and handed it to Luosha.

"Take a look at this. There is a loophole inside. See if you can find it. If you can't find it and it traps you later, don't come crying to me."

Then, without waiting for Professor Li or Lu Chen to speak, Luosha stood up, walked to the door, and opened it.

"Steward Wang, has the small reception hall been checked?"

"It has been checked, Miss Luosha. There is no eavesdropping. The setup here was arranged by Manager Chen."

Steward Wang bowed slightly and spoke directly.

"From now until 9 o'clock, no one is allowed to approach the small reception hall. Go tell Chen Mo that no one is allowed to eavesdrop on the conversation here."

Luosha's tone turned chilling, and then she immediately closed the wooden door.

After closing the door, Luosha sat directly opposite Lu Chen and Professor Li, forming something like an equilateral triangle.

Only then did she speak again.

"This meeting was convened at my instruction to Lu Chen."

Luosha lit a cigarette for herself, and seeing that the expressions of Lu Chen and Professor Li had both turned grave, she spoke again.

Professor Li took a deep drag of his cigarette before speaking again.

Lu Chen glanced at Luosha, then gave a wry smile and nodded.

"As expected, nothing can be hidden from you, sir."

Lu Chen lit a cigarette for himself, and after a few seconds, he spoke.

"I didn't want this matter to develop into what it has."

"Ms. Luosha, you said before that this money could not leave Xianggang, which is why I spared no effort to gather all the bigwigs to discuss ways to keep it in Xianggang."

Lu Chen sighed slightly.

"This document is merely a profit distribution document; I cannot accomplish what truly needs to be done on my own."

Professor Li tapped the armrest in silence, his gaze shifting between Luosha and Lu Chen for a while before he spoke.

"Once we leave this room, all of today's conversation is to be kept confidential."

After saying this, he sighed.

"No wonder you were always against it before; you really are bold, but I suppose my old bones are now tied to your fate."

After a few minutes, Professor Li spoke again.

As the sounds of arguing inside the room slowly died down.

Lu Chen walked out of the room first, looking somewhat disheveled, and went to a cubicle on the second floor to change his clothes.

When he came back down, he was given a glare by Luosha, who let out a soft huff.

Professor Li also waved his hand with some annoyance, picked up his thermos, and took a sip.

"The two of you, tidy up; the bigwigs have all arrived, and it is time for us to go over."

Lu Chen paused and looked at the two of them cautiously before speaking.
