Chapter 647

~5 min read 981 words

Luo En said.

"What we want to do is simple—we just want to ask you a few questions.

If you honestly tell us, we'll spare your life. Otherwise, do you know what happened to them?"

The curse stared at Luo En in shock, though he had indeed been furious before.

But when he learned that Luo En had killed all the missing curses, his anger had turned to terror.

Luo En saw the man's expression and gave a slight nod—this was exactly the effect he wanted.

The curse struggled desperately, but found he could not break free from the rope no matter how hard he tried.

This rope was no ordinary cord—it was woven from an extremely tough steel wire.

Thus, ordinary curses could never escape it.

Luo En said.

"I heard the Lord Curse has a storage room containing the town's database. Do you know where that database is?"

The curse shouted loudly.

"I can't tell you that. I don't even know it myself."

Luo En punched the curse again.

The curse let out a piercing scream—he was in unbearable pain, as the cursed energy inflicted fatal damage.

When this cursed energy struck his body, it madly devoured his flesh.

He felt himself nearing collapse; this pain was worse than any ordinary torture.

"Even if you kill me, I know nothing. They never tell anyone these secrets.

This is the Lord Curse's alone."

Luo En gently shook his head.

"Impossible. I know he's already told you.

If you don't speak honestly, you'll die for sure—I'll slowly torture you to death."

He struck again, and the curse screamed in agony.

Taiyaro coated his twin blades with cursed energy and slashed them fiercely against the curse's body.

Yet the curse still had not revealed anything about the database.

Watching the curse nearly dead from torture, Luo En frowned tightly.

Could they truly not know about the database? Did the database even exist?

Even Taiyaro was surprised—previously, all the curses he captured had been cowardly.

They immediately confessed under torture.

But not a single curse had ever mentioned the database.

Now even Luo En and Taiyaro doubted the database's existence.

"Regardless, we must eliminate them all."

Luo En said.

He could now sense the curse's treacherous ambition.

The enemy didn't just want to control this town—he wanted to control the entire world.

As the curse lay on the verge of death, Luo En suddenly noticed a strange pattern on his neck.

The pattern resembled a symbol, but Luo En examined it closely and had never seen such a symbol before.

Taiyaro glanced at it and said.

"This looks like a mark. Could this mark be important?"

Luo En studied it carefully and also felt the tattoo resembled some kind of mark.

The lines looked more like a map. When Luo En thought of a map, he examined the pattern again.

He realized the pattern matched places he had previously surveyed.

And not far away was a tiny red dot.

Luo En knew this place was a wasteland—no one ever went there.

Even the curses avoided lingering there.

Luo En said.

"This red dot seems odd. Maybe it's the location of the database.

The Lord Curse probably didn't tell them the database's location—but he tattooed it onto them."

Taiyaro nodded.

"Then we shouldn't delay. Let's go there immediately."

Luo En took the curse with him and swiftly headed toward the wasteland.

This place had been neglected for years and looked utterly desolate; nearby lay countless graves.

When they arrived, a chilling aura surged toward them.

This aura affected mortals to some degree.

Taiyaro felt as if he stood in a hell of slaughter, smelling thick, cloying blood.

Luo En shouted loudly.

"Focus your mind and hold your breath—don't let this aura influence you. It can disrupt our thoughts."

Luo En's voice cut through sharply, instantly alerting Taiyaro.

He quickly adjusted his state—he had nearly been infected by the aura.

The curse watched Taiyaro and Luo En coldly, wondering why they had brought him here.

Luo En looked again at the tattoos on his body; from that red dot, the location should not be far from where they stood.

So they immediately rushed there.

"Where exactly are you taking me?"

The curse shouted loudly.

"My lord will not forgive you."

Luo En said.

"We'll kill your so-called lord soon."

This region looked extremely desolate; Luo En felt puzzled.

If the opponent had hidden the treasure here, where exactly could it be concealed? Would they have to dig up every patch of ground?

That would be an enormous task, consuming too much time—they simply didn't have that much time.

The curse grinned at Luo En and Taiyilang.

"Do you really think Curse Lord would hide something here? How ridiculous.

This area spans four to five kilometers.

To bury something here and then find it again? Impossible."

Luo En said.

"As long as he left a mark, he himself could find it—we just don't know what kind of mark he left."

But the scenery around them was nearly identical; they could find no mark at all.

Taiyilang frowned.

"What kind of mark do you think the Lord Curse would leave?"

They had fought the Lord Curse for only a short time; they knew almost nothing about him.

At that moment, Luo En thought of the treasures in the storage room.

One item looked utterly unremarkable, and Luo En didn't know its purpose.

It emitted no energy at all, and he believed this object was connected to this place.

So he took it out.

The curse saw the object and instantly flew into a rage.

"So you really are thieves—you stole from the storage!"

Luo En said.

"We took it openly, not stolen."

With that, he punched the curse down to the ground; the curse writhed for a moment but couldn't rise again.

It was a disc-shaped object.
