Chapter 690: Hard Battle
Now the strange creature drew fire ahead, Taiyilang and Nainai harassed from both sides, while Luo En became the main force.
Swirling, surging energy coalesced on Luo En's body; he surged forward, becoming a streak of light that slammed heavily before the opponent—boom! —Luo En was flung back, feeling the opponent's power had grown stronger again.
The man burst into loud laughter.
"You're nothing but ants. Even if you unite, what can you do? I'll crush you like crushing an ant."
The strange creature was slapped flat to the ground by the opponent; though it struggled to rise, the opponent kicked it hard back down.
Taiyilang and Nainai were both repelled—they could not hinder the opponent at all.
In that instant, Luo En spotted a fleeting weakness in the opponent; though the opponent hurried to conceal it, he had inadvertently exposed it just then.
Luo En seized the opportunity and surged forward again; though the previous impact had left his qi churning and his body still unrecovered, there was no time now to heal slowly—he had to seize any chance, however slim.
When the man saw Luo En charging, he seemed surprised, then raised a hand to block—but Luo En now saw the weakness was no longer hidden, giving him an opening.
Yet, to Luo En's shock, just as he was about to strike, he was suddenly flung away by a tremendous force.
The ground collapsed instantly; Luo En lay on the ground, filled with frustration—he hadn't expected the opponent to shield his weakness at that exact moment. So close. If only he'd moved a fraction faster, he'd have succeeded.
The massive body kept swelling, its power continuously growing; it leaned down, gazing at the tiny beings beneath, and grinned widely, laughing loudly.
"Is this your resistance? Is this all you've got? If so, then now is your time to die."
It raised its foot and stomped down hard, aiming to crush these ants—but Luo En charged again in that instant. He wasn't so easily defeated. A flurry of strikes sent both sides reeling several steps back; Luo En felt a strange energy surging wildly within him—alien, yet exactly what he needed now.
The man was startled—he had clearly been crushing Luo En moments ago, yet now Luo En had erupted with new power and could match him blow for blow.
This fellow was no ordinary opponent. He knew Luo En held great potential; in prior battles, he'd sought only to suppress Luo En, yet he also understood Luo En kept growing stronger.
Luo En shouted loudly.
"You are indeed powerful, but I will never surrender easily—I will defeat you."
When Luo En solidified this conviction, his power seemed to change from before—boom! The two clashed again, but this time the man staggered backward repeatedly. Though his massive frame bore all his strength, he now felt Luo En's power had somehow surpassed his own.
This was impossible—he was utterly stunned. He charged again, fists clenched, desperately hurling himself at Luo En, determined to crush Luo En first, then the rest would be nothing. But Luo En now proved unkillable, like a cockroach that refused to die—and worse, his power kept growing.
