Chapter 170: Hey, Such a Good Boy

~9 min read 1,797 words

"You need to pinch it a little lower, then don't use too much force—just lift it gently, yes, slowly."

In Classroom 16-1, Li Luo stood beside Ying Chanxi, whispering instructions into her ear, "Pay attention to the angle of the chopsticks—you must hold them parallel to the bottom, got it? Otherwise, they'll just slip right off."

Watching Ying Chanxi fail again, unable to pick up the marble from the bowl and transfer it to the bowl on the other table, Li Luo chuckled and shook his head.

The game in Class 16 was simple: chopstick marble transfer.

The two tables were one meter apart.

Participants only needed to use chopsticks to transfer five marbles from the left bowl to the bowl on the other table within the time limit to pass.

Li Luo passed on his first try.

But Ying Chanxi had been stuck here for a long time.

"Ugh, you're so annoying," Ying Chanxi said, scowling as the marble fell to the floor once more. "It's all because you're babbling in my ear and distracting me."

Li Luo: "..."

"Fine, fine, fine." He raised his hands in surrender and stepped back to the doorway at the rear of the classroom. "How's this? I'm standing far enough now?"

"Hmph, just wait," Ying Chanxi said. Once her classmates had refilled the bowl with five marbles, she rolled up her sleeves and squared off against the marbles.

Just as Li Luo stood with arms crossed, leaning against the back door watching, a girl suddenly approached him and asked softly, "Are you Li Luo from Class 8?"

A random stranger approaching him made Li Luo pause. He turned to look at the girl who had spoken.

The school uniform suited her, matching her soft, gentle face perfectly.

She was a very pretty girl.

Though not as beautiful as Ying Chanxi, she was still one of the prettier girls in Fu Yi High, and surely had no shortage of male admirers.

"What do you want?" Li Luo tilted his head, puzzled.

"Nothing much, just wanted to introduce myself," the girl smiled faintly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I'm Shen Shuhua, from Class 16."

"Oh, hi."

"I really liked the songs you sang during military training, and also your performances at the opening and closing ceremonies of the sports meet—they were amazing," Shen Shuhua lowered her head, blushing. "Sorry for interrupting you out of the blue—did I bother you?"

"Well, you did a little," Li Luo said, catching Ying Chanxi's gaze as she shot him a look—then watched her swiftly, in a flash, transfer all the marbles to the other bowl.

In twenty seconds, the five marbles settled neatly into the bowl.

It revealed the terrifying power of human potential unleashed.

"Huh?" Shen Shuhua blinked slightly, then saw Ying Chanxi stride over to Li Luo's side.

"Let's go, I'm done," Ying Chanxi said, not even glancing at Shen Shuhua, calmly addressing Li Luo.

"We can go," Li Luo pointed to Shen Shuhua beside him. "But I think the stamp's in her hand—you should get it stamped first."

"Mm," Shen Shuhua smiled lightly. "I just switched shifts with a classmate—it's my turn to stamp now. Ying Chanxi, let me stamp your booklet."

"You know me?" Ying Chanxi glanced at Shen Shuhua, puzzled.

"How could I not know the top student in the grade?" Shen Shuhua shook her head with a smile, taking the stamp booklet from Ying Chanxi's hand and applying the seal. "There you go."

"Mm." Ying Chanxi retrieved her booklet, then turned to Li Luo.

"Let's go." Li Luo paid no further attention to Shen Shuhua, waved to Ying Chanxi, and headed toward the staircase.

Ying Chanxi jogged to catch up, and the two headed up to the fourth floor.

Back in Classroom 16, several girls gathered around Shen Shuhua, whispering excitedly.

"So, how'd it go?"

"With Xiao Shu in action, no problem."

"But there was Ying Chanxi right next to him."

"They're cousins, I already told you all that."

"But didn't Ying Chanxi seem a little jealous?"

"Did she? She's just naturally proud—she is the top student, after all."

"Alright, alright," Shen Shuhua said, exasperated. "I just went over to say hi—I didn't mean to do anything else."

"Eww~ Didn't you say in the dormitory you loved guys with musical talent? Li Luo fits perfectly."

"He ranked 15th in the whole school last month—even in a parallel class! So impressive."

"He plays guitar too. At the sports meet, he sang and played solo—I heard from someone in Class 8 that he wrote the song himself."

"Damn! What a perfect god!"

"He's pretty good-looking too."

"Yes, yes! Just now, leaning against the back door—that vibe~"

"Enough already, we've got work to do," Shen Shuhua cut in, annoyed by their escalating praise. "I just said hi—I didn't plan anything. You're all talking too much."

"Are you blushing, Xiao Shu?"

"You're totally crushing on him, haha~"

The girls giggled and teased.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Li Luo, climbing the stairs with Ying Chanxi, had no idea he'd already become a god in the girls' circle.

But he himself didn't realize that the series of events in his life since the start of the term had been devastatingly attractive to girls his age.

After all, who could resist a boy who played and sang guitar, was witty and charming, excelled as class monitor, and ranked among the top academically?

With these光环加持, coupled with Ying Chanxi's daily reminders for him to wash his face with facial cleanser,

Li Luo now looked significantly fairer and cleaner than in his past life, his entire aura completely transformed.

Even his perceived attractiveness had risen several notches.

Originally, he'd been decent-looking but nowhere near Wu Yanzu; after growing older, his posture had deteriorated, his body had grown fat, and he'd gradually turned into an ordinary middle-aged man.

But now, at just sixteen, Li Luo—with his looks, physique, and the aura of a top student and guitarist—was, from others' perspectives, undeniably handsome.

"What did that person just say to you?" Ying Chanxi couldn't resist turning her head as she climbed the stairs.

"Just said let's get to know each other." Li Luo smiled slightly at her skeptical expression. "Do you know Shen Shuhua from Class Sixteen?"

"No." Ying Chanxi shook her head. "Do you recognize her?"

"A little."

"You knew her before?" Ying Chanxi narrowed her eyes.

"Not at all." Li Luo shook his head. "Her grades seem pretty good—43rd in the whole school on the midterm, 47th on the last monthly exam. That's excellent for a parallel class."

"You know all that?" Ying Chanxi widened her eyes. "And you say you don't know her?"

"I have a good memory." Li Luo rolled his eyes. "I could recite the rankings of everyone in your class."

With Li Luo's reminder, Ying Chanxi suddenly remembered.

This guy had somehow woken up at some point, always remembering strange, random things.

Ying Chanxi suspected the frantic cramming before the high school entrance exam had given him some kind of aftereffect.

His memory had become this good.

"Besides saying 'let's get to know each other,' didn't she say anything else?" Ying Chanxi asked again.

"I didn't get a chance to say anything else—someone already cleared the challenge." Li Luo glanced at her with suspicion. "You couldn't even pick up marbles before—weren't you just pretending all along?"

"You're the one pretending!" Ying Chanxi suddenly quickened her pace. "Come on, come on—only five more classes to collect! I still want to enter the raffle!"

"Alright, alright."

The two had started sweeping from Class Seven on the third floor, collected all the class stamps on the two lower floors, and now made their way to the fourth floor, beginning with Class One.

The Sudoku puzzles clearly posed no challenge to them.

Soon, Li Luo led Ying Chanxi to the door of Class Three.

"Hey, isn't that my brother Zhao?" Li Luo spotted Zhao Rongjun inside the classroom and waved immediately.

Zhao Rongjun nodded at Li Luo and Ying Chanxi. "You here to play?"

"What else would we come for?" Li Luo chuckled. "You gonna stamp us directly?"

"No way." Zhao Rongjun shook his head. "The stamp's with Luo Jiajia."

"Then perfect—won't you give your desk mate a favor?"

"Don't talk nonsense." Zhao Rongjun rolled his eyes. "Are you playing or not?"

"Sure, what's your class's game again?" Li Luo thought back—Class Three's game was called "Blind Man Painting the Eyes."

Ying Chanxi also looked at the game notice posted at the door and explained the rules in detail.

"We need two people to participate," Zhao Rongjun said. "If you only have one, our staff can help."

"But you two definitely don't need that—you can be each other's partners."

"Then look at the three dragons on the blackboard—they all have no eyes."

"You two prepare at the back of the classroom. One stays behind, the other puts on a blindfold. The one without the blindfold directs the blindfolded one. If the blindfolded person successfully draws eyes on one dragon, they pass."

"That sounds pretty simple," Li Luo raised an eyebrow and looked at Ying Chanxi. "But probably not so easy for someone."

"You're just bragging." Ying Chanxi snorted. "If you're so confident, let's race—see who finishes faster."

"I'll definitely beat you by a long shot."

"Don't cheat," Ying Chanxi eyed him suspiciously. "You have to give proper directions—no misleading. I'll have Zhao Rongjun supervise you."

"If you don't trust me that much, just let Zhao Rongjun direct you."

"You're so inconsiderate." Ying Chanxi grabbed his sleeve and pulled him to the back of the line. "Zhao Rongjun's busy—why bother him?"

"Then don't complain if you lose to me."

"I won't." Ying Chanxi glanced at the students ahead in line, then thought through the entire game process.

All you had to do was walk from the back of the classroom to the podium, pick up chalk, and draw two eyes on the dragon's head.

Ying Chanxi felt it should be easy.

She'd go first. No matter how long it took, once Li Luo stepped up, she'd just mess him up.

Thinking this, she rolled her eyes and began smirking secretly.

Immediately, she put on a serious face and turned to Li Luo. "If you lose later, what's your punishment?"

"You have to bark like a dog three times," Li Luo mused, stroking his chin.

"Why are you so obsessed with dog barks?" Ying Chanxi stared at him in disbelief.

"What?" Li Luo raised an eyebrow. "You scared?"

"Hmph, bring it on." Ying Chanxi had already planned ahead and wasn't worried. "Wait for your Wang Wang Wang."

"Aww, so good."

"...?" Ying Chanxi froze, then realized—her face flushed with anger as she punched him. "You're so annoying!"
