Chapter 508: What Are You Touching?

~11 min read 2,156 words

Ying Chanxi didn't know how she felt right now.

Mainly because she'd already known Yan Zhusheng had kissed Li Luo; now hearing Yan Zhusheng bring it up again, apart from a bit of jealousy, she couldn't muster any other strong resistance.

She didn't know what kind of relationship the four of them even had now.

Since Li Luo's birthday last year, nearly half a year had passed, and she and Li Luo had secretly kissed countless times already.

But each time, they still had to use the excuse of filming a music video to cover it up.

So technically, she and Li Luo were still just normal childhood friends, nothing more.

The same went for Yan Zhusheng and Xu Youyu.

Everyone seemed stuck in a gray zone—forward was white, backward was black; they could've made it clear-cut, but all four were pretending to be clueless, refusing to leave this gray world.

Ying Chanxi didn't dare think too much, merely following her instinct and subconscious, turning her head to avoid Yan Zhusheng's direct gaze, stammering: "S-Senior… it's your turn to roll."

On the other side, Yan Zhusheng was pushed back against the sofa by Li Luo, told to say less.

The game on the coffee table continued.

Xu Youyu had good luck, passing the card area several times in a row and now holding two 【Event Cards】 and one 【Character Card】.

Li Luo passed by the hallway bathroom once and gained one 【Event Card】 and one 【Replace Card】.

Ying Chanxi was unlucky again, landing on the 【Living Room Desk】, pouting angrily as she sat in the seat beside the desk, glaring resentfully at the other three as they rolled.

After one round returned to the sofa, she landed again on 【Li Luo's Master Bedroom】, requiring another person to accompany her to sleep there.

Yan Zhusheng had drawn another 【Scene Card】 and one 【Character Designation Card】 in the first two rounds.

But when Ying Chanxi landed on 【Li Luo's Master Bedroom】, her dice roll was the lowest, forcing her to accompany Ying Chanxi to Li Luo's room to sleep together.

Ying Chanxi walked ahead, not heading straight to Li Luo's room; on passing her own bedroom, she went inside specifically to fetch her Pikachu and Doraemon, hugging them close before heading to the adjacent bedroom with Yan Zhusheng.

Both lay on the bed—Ying Chanxi on Li Luo's usual sleeping spot, turning her head to look at Yan Zhusheng, who had closed her eyes; she quietly punched Pikachu twice, hard.

Though the punches made no sound, the bedroom was silent enough that Yan Zhusheng still heard something, turning her head to open her eyes and ask Ying Chanxi: "Xixi, what are you doing?"

"N-Nothing…" Ying Chanxi felt guilty, patting Pikachu's head under the covers to soothe it.

But Yan Zhusheng suddenly rolled over, straddling Ying Chanxi, then blinked and asked: "Xixi, what did you and Li Luo do in the kitchen just now?"

"W-We just did whatever the event triggered," Ying Chanxi, under Yan Zhusheng's direct gaze, instinctively looked away.

But then she thought: I didn't do anything wrong—why should I feel guilty?

So she glared back hard, locking eyes with Yan Zhusheng.

Then Yan Zhusheng added: "I'll tell you what I did with Li Luo in the bedroom, and you tell me what you two did in the kitchen, okay?"

At this, Ying Chanxi's curiosity was instantly piqued.

It was like a suspense drama with a touch of horror—a hook dangling, pulling her to keep watching, yet the horror made her want to flee.

Ying Chanxi's state right now was much the same.

When she once again lost the staring contest with Yan Zhusheng, Ying Chanxi couldn't resist her curiosity and blurted: "So… what did you and Li Luo do in the bedroom just now… uh…"

Ying Chanxi trailed off, too embarrassed to continue asking.

But Yan Zhusheng had already leaned down, closing in on Ying Chanxi, then said: "Like this."

"Huh?" Ying Chanxi froze.

"Like this—kissing," Yan Zhusheng blinked. "Have you never kissed Li Luo while lying on top of him?"

"… " Ying Chanxi fell silent under Yan Zhusheng's single sentence.

Had she… maybe… actually never done that?

She'd kissed so much over the past half year, she'd lost track.

But to actively climb onto Li Luo's body and beg for a kiss, like Yan Zhusheng—Ying Chanxi knew she could never do that.

Too embarrassing!

Zhusheng was such a cold, aloof goddess at school, yet so forward in front of Li Luo.

Ying Chanxi mostly just kissed Li Luo standing normally, or occasionally got pinned against a wall or bed by him.

She actually quite liked that too…

But now that she realized Yan Zhusheng had unlocked this position, Ying Chanxi grew more jealous—then immediately thought: Next time I'll try it too, can't fall behind.

Sometimes girls' competitiveness in certain areas was so strong it completely drowned out other concerns.

"So what about you, Xixi?" Yan Zhusheng rolled off Ying Chanxi and asked curiously, "You haven't told me about the kitchen yet."

"Actually, nothing much," Ying Chanxi, hit twice by Yan Zhusheng's direct blows, no longer cared about shyness—she just wanted to reclaim some ground.

So she finally gathered courage and told Yan Zhusheng: "We went in and hugged for a long time; you reminded us, so we broke apart and started the task."

"But Li Luo just lightly patted my cheek, then… then…"

"Then kissed you?" Yan Zhusheng finished for her.

"Mm-hmm…" Ying Chanxi had never before voluntarily shared such a private thing with anyone, especially someone competing for the same boy—it made her feelings strangely complex.

But given Yan Zhusheng's earlier blow, Ying Chanxi added: "While kissing, Li Luo pinned me against the wall—really hard."

"Oh," Yan Zhusheng nodded in full agreement. "Li Luo really likes pinning people against walls to kiss."

Ying Chanxi: "…"

Hit so simply by Yan Zhusheng's reply, Ying Chanxi fell silent again.

So she'd unlocked a position Yan Zhusheng had already tried, but Yan Zhusheng had unlocked one she hadn't experienced yet?

Ying Chanxi bit her lip, secretly punching Pikachu twice more under the covers, venting her inner frustration.

While the two lay in bed sharing their victories, the living room sofa continued the game.

Li Luo rolled the dice, advanced nine spaces, and drew a 【Event Card】.

Xu Youyu advanced three spaces, arriving at 【Xu Youyu's Bedroom】.

Xu Youyu already held an 【Event Card】 and a 【Character Card】, so naturally triggered the event.

【Event Card】: You received a scarf, and the other person put it on you by hand; you felt delighted and hugged them tightly, expressing your joy.

【Character Card】: If you were to choose a partner, among those present, who do you lean toward?

Xu Youyu recited the content of the card she had drawn earlier in a rigid tone, then smiled at Li Luo: "Oh dear, what can I do? You're the only one left—I'll just have to reluctantly pick you."

"Why can't I see any sign of reluctance?" Li Luo teased with a smile. "You could go find Chanxi and Zhusheng in the master bedroom."

"No way—they're sleeping." Xu Youyu declared solemnly. "How could I disturb someone's sleep? It's you—I'm taking you!"

Saying this, she yanked Li Luo up from the sofa, turned, and flashed an eager grin before stomping off in her slippers—papapapa—toward her bedroom.

Li Luo was dragged in after her; as soon as they entered the room, Xu Youyu shut the bedroom door and locked it.

Then she paused, reopened the door, pulled the key out from the lock on the outside, and closed and locked the door again.

From her wardrobe, she retrieved the scarf Lin Xiuhong had knitted by hand, handed it to Li Luo, and grinned: "Perfect—Lin Yi gave me this scarf before; I'll use it as a prop."

"Just put it on me, right?" Li Luo unfolded the scarf and stepped in front of Xu Youyu.

"And you have to hug me too."

"Alright, hug." Li Luo said, already wrapping the scarf around Xu Youyu's neck.

But halfway through, Xu Youyu raised her hand to stop him, then reversed the remaining length of the scarf, winding it around Li Luo's neck and wrapping both of them together.

The next second, Xu Youyu flung herself into Li Luo's arms, tiptoeing and clasping his neck tightly with both hands.

"Mmm…" Li Luo was caught off guard by the sudden attack, then gradually sank into it; only after several minutes did he murmur vaguely, "Didn't we just agree to a hug?"

"The event card didn't say kissing wasn't allowed."

"You're adding your own script, aren't you?"

"Heh, dare you say you never kissed Zhusheng and Chanxi before?" Xu Youyu smiled at him with narrowed eyes. "How's this? You've sampled three girls' lips in a short time—who kissed the best?"

Li Luo: "... Can I refuse to answer that?"

"Hmph, I know even if you don't say it," Xu Youyu rolled her eyes at him. "You've written about it plenty in your books."

"Shen Dongdong has pouty lips—they always look slightly pursed, with plump lip pearls that make her look cute even when angry."

"Mo Qinghan has crescent lips—thin and delicate like a crescent moon; when you kiss her, you can easily cover them completely, giving you a strong sense of conquest."

"Jiang Mingyue has peach-heart lips—her upper lip's pearl blends with the lower, resembling a plump little peach; kissing her feels full and deeply satisfying."

Xu Youyu smiled sweetly, gently stroking his cheek: "All this is from your own books, you know—truly, practice reveals truth."

Li Luo had no rebuttal, so he lowered his head again and sealed her lips with his own.

But they spent too much time in Xu Youyu's bedroom, causing Ying Chanxi and Yan Zhusheng in the master bedroom to grow suspicious.

"Hasn't it been ten minutes already?" Ying Chanxi frowned in confusion. "Why haven't they finished yet?"

"Maybe they triggered an event?" Yan Zhusheng said. "I thought I heard their footsteps just now."

"Even so, ten minutes is way too long!"

"You and Li Luo were in the kitchen just as long."

Ying Chanxi: "..."

Another five minutes passed.

Still no one came to call them back.

Now Yan Zhusheng also sensed something was off, and swung her legs off the bed.

Seeing this, Ying Chanxi hurriedly warned: "Zhusheng, you're breaking the rules."

"I'm just going to the bathroom," Yan Zhusheng blinked, walking straight toward the hallway.

Hearing this, Ying Chanxi also scrambled off the bed, found her slippers on the floor, hugged Pikachu and Doraemon in her arms, and followed Yan Zhusheng.

At the hallway, Yan Zhusheng turned to Ying Chanxi, raised a finger to her lips for silence, then pointed at the closed door of Xu Youyu's bedroom.

Quietly tiptoeing to the end of the hall, the two glanced at the empty living room, confirmed that Li Luo and Xu Youyu had indeed triggered an event, then returned to Xu Youyu's bedroom door, pressing their ears against it to eavesdrop.

"Sister Youyu… hasn't it been long enough?"

"Long? Feels like only a few minutes."

"... Really?"

"Mmm… you're so naughty—where are your hands going?"

"Cough… instinct, just instinct."

"Why pull back? I didn't say you couldn't touch… mm~ so light… it tickles."

Outside the door, Yan Zhusheng frowned, her face clearly filled with displeasure.

Ying Chanxi bit her lip tightly, her mind instantly conjuring the scene inside, a sour ache swelling in her chest.

The Doraemon in her arms suffered terribly—not only did she land two solid punches on it, but she also squeezed its head tightly, twisting its grinning mouth out of shape.

"Feels about done—we should head back," Xu Youyu's slightly breathless voice came from inside.

"But you just said it was only a few minutes?" Li Luo's voice sounded reluctant to end it.

"If we stay any longer, Chanxi and Zhusheng might come knocking to demand an explanation," Xu Youyu chuckled wickedly, then removed the scarf from her neck and pulled Li Luo toward the door.

Hearing the noise, Ying Chanxi immediately dragged Yan Zhusheng back to the bedroom and climbed into bed again.

"Chanxi, why are you hiding?" Yan Zhusheng turned to her, puzzled.

"I-I'd be too embarrassed if we ran into them face-to-face," Ying Chanxi whispered. "It's too awkward."

"They're the ones who should be embarrassed," Yan Zhusheng said seriously. "Why be afraid?"

Ying Chanxi looked at Yan Zhusheng, seeing her earnest expression, and sighed: "I envy your personality—I just couldn't do that."

"Then how about this," Yan Zhusheng rolled her eyes, then said. "When you trigger an event later, I'll hold off the senior for you—you go all out. In return, you help me stall time too."

"Huh?" Ying Chanxi blinked, taking a long moment to grasp what Yan Zhusheng meant. "That doesn't seem right—it's Senior Xu's birthday today."

"So you don't want to?"

"... I do."
