Chapter 674
At night, Li Luo drove the three girls back to Bihai Lanting 1502, packed up their belongings, and prepared to take them to the dormitory.
After Ying Chanxi finished packing her own luggage, she checked Li Luo's things again, carefully went through every item, and only then felt reassured.
Actually, there wasn't much.
Things like toothbrushes and tooth cups had already been brought over earlier that morning.
So tonight, they only needed to carry the larger items like quilts and pillows.
Once everything was packed, the four of them hurried downstairs and crammed everything into Li Luo's car.
The three girls' large items wouldn't even fit in the trunk alone; the rest had to be stuffed between the back seats, and Ying Chanxi and the other two each held a pillow in their arms before everything finally fit.
"Shall I drop off Zhusheng first?" Li Luo said after getting in the car. "Her dorm is farther away—let's take her first."
"Oh." Ying Chanxi, who had reclaimed the front passenger seat, nodded in agreement. Yan Zhusheng, watching Ying Chanxi sit up front, felt a bit down but said nothing, silently accepting it.
So Li Luo drove across Yinjiang Bridge and returned to Zhenjiang Dormitory, passed the security check, and arrived beneath Yan Zhusheng's dorm building.
"Want me to help carry it up?" Li Luo asked.
Yan Zhusheng, hugging her quilt and pillow, shook her head. "Our dorm has an elevator—no need."
"Then be careful going up. We're leaving now."
"Mm, bye." Yan Zhusheng nodded obediently. She had wanted Li Luo to kiss her, but with her arms full, it was too inconvenient—so she gave up, watching helplessly as Li Luo drove away.
"I'm so jealous," Xu Youyu muttered from the back seat. "Don't you guys have an elevator too, Xixi?"
"Of course we do," Ying Chanxi nodded. "Don't you?"
"Our dorm's old—how would we have an elevator?" Xu Youyu rolled her eyes. "Back then, only Zhulu Xuan had the best conditions—with an elevator, no less."
"Now, Zhusheng's area is the new campus, and the dorms are nicely renovated—even with elevators."
"Where we are, we'd be thrilled if every floor had a laundry room."
Since the laundry rooms are all on the first floor, Xu Youyu is usually too lazy to go down, so she just uses one of those big bags meant for storing quilts.
Every week, she throws all her laundry into it, and when she returns to Bihai Lanting to sleep, she takes it home to wash.
From the way she spoke, it was clear she harbored deep resentment.
Li Luo didn't care much—he wasn't picky about such things.
After driving Ying Chanxi to Zhulu Xuan's dorm building, he watched her leave with her quilt and pillow.
Then he drove straight to Qingxi Dormitory, found a parking spot, and stopped.
"Want me to help carry your stuff up?" Xu Youyu asked with a grin after getting out of the car.
"Nah, don't trouble Youyu-jie," Li Luo said, picking up his quilt and pillow. "It's late—going into the boys' dorm with you isn't a good idea. The dorm supervisor might not even let you in."
"I could still get in," Xu Youyu raised an eyebrow. "Just register."
"Still no."
"Why? You're worried about me?"
"Not exactly," Li Luo chuckled. "I just don't want you to see other guys walking around in their underwear."
"You're jealous of that?"
"Is that not allowed?"
"Hehe," Xu Youyu smiled happily, stepped up to Li Luo, tiptoed, and kissed his lips. "Then I'll head back to my dorm."
"Mm, bye."
After parting with Xu Youyu downstairs, Li Luo carried his quilt and pillow back to Room 310.
As soon as he pushed open the door, he heard Cheng Xin talking to someone.
From the voice, he knew it wasn't Bai Haoran—it must be the other roommate who had just arrived in the evening.
"Hey!" On the second bed facing the door, a guy sitting cross-legged greeted Li Luo cheerfully. "Finally met you! Been waiting all night. Need help?"
"No thanks, nothing much," Li Luo nodded politely, greeted him, tossed his quilt and pillow onto his bed, then finally took a good look at his roommate across from him.
"I'm Wen Zexuan," the guy across smiled. "You're Li Luo, right?"
"Yeah, that's me," Li Luo nodded.
Wen Zexuan was quite good-looking—a classic sunny-type guy. He wore a black tank top, and his arm muscles were clearly defined—he must work out regularly.
Li Luo rarely met a guy whose looks and physique matched his own—he couldn't help raising an eyebrow.
"We just made a dorm WeChat group—add me, okay?" Wen Zexuan held out his phone, showing a QR code.
Li Luo nodded, pulled out his phone, added the group, grabbed his Mao Jin and other items, said goodbye, and went to the bathroom for a shower.
After showering and returning to bed, Li Luo joined the roommates' casual chat.
Soon, he learned Wen Zexuan was from Jianggan Province and also from a small county.
Interestingly, although Cheng Xin was from Ehu Province and Wen Zexuan from Jianggan Province, their hometowns were separated only by the Yangtze River.
Cheng Xin's hometown, Huangmei County, and Wen Zexuan's, Pengze County, were less than a hundred kilometers apart by straight line—just a two-hour drive.
Li Luo lay on his bed, chatting idly with them, unafraid of missing anything thanks to his Memory Palace.
In his hand, he held his phone, keeping up with WeChat chats with the three girls.
He also opened QQ to check the class group created by their class assistant, learning there would be a class meeting tomorrow night.
"Are you all free tomorrow noon?" Li Luo asked.
"Yeah," Cheng Xin nodded. "Aren't you the one who said we should get together for dinner?"
"Right," Li Luo said, seeing Bai Haoran and Wen Zexuan both nodding. "I'm a local, so as host, I'm treating you all to a good meal tomorrow noon at nearby Tianjie."
After saying that, he sent WeChat messages to each of his three girlfriends, letting them know he'd be eating with his roommates tomorrow.
【Li Luo】: Eating with my roommates tomorrow noon.
The same message sent to three different people.
【Yan Zhusheng】: Oh, got it.
【Ying Chanxi】: Cafeteria, or eat outside?
【Xu Youyu】: Want your dear girlfriend to come with you?
Li Luo glanced over—no need to reply to Zhusheng.
Xixi typed a line, indicating they'd eat at Tianjie.
As for Xu Youyu's side.
【Li Luo】: You're too beautiful—you're putting too much pressure on my roommate. Forget it.
First dorm dinner—if you bring your girlfriend, it'll look like showing off.
Better to keep it simple: just four guys eating together.
Xu Youyu had only been teasing anyway, so now she replied.
【Xu Youyu】: So how are you going to compensate me?
【Li Luo】: You'll find out after military training ends and we go home.
【Xu Youyu】: That's still a long way off.
【Li Luo】: Fevered?
【Xu Youyu】: Hmph~ Doesn't someone want to?
【Li Luo】: There's no way here at school.
【Xu Youyu】: There's Ningshan Park behind the dorm—lots of couples go there at night, hmm~
【Li Luo】:?
【Li Luo】: Going that far?
【Xu Youyu】: Hahaha~ Just kidding, how could I be that bold?
【Li Luo】: Actually, it's not impossible.
【Xu Youyu】: Dream on.
While flirting with Xu Youyu, Li Luo still had to sneak in replies to Ying Chanxi.
【Ying Chanxi】: Our dorm is also discussing where to eat tomorrow—want to join together?
【Li Luo】: What? Planning a dorm mixer?
【Ying Chanxi】: Not impossible.
【Li Luo】: Better not. You're my girlfriend now—if my roommate falls for you, I'll get jealous.
【Ying Chanxi】: What? Can't you just show your roommate other people?
【Li Luo】: You're definitely the prettiest—what if they try to chase you? I can't beat them all up.
【Ying Chanxi】: Hmph, I only like you—I won't run off with anyone else.
【Li Luo】: Fine, then tell my roommate that when the time comes.
【Ying Chanxi】: Ugh, don't bring it up—it makes me mad. We still have to wait until National Day.
【Li Luo】: Just saying you like me—it's no big deal. I'm taken, so you can just secretly pine for me.
【Ying Chanxi】: Dream on! I'll bite you to death.
【Li Luo】: Then let's plan a joint dorm dinner after National Day?
【Ying Chanxi】: It's a deal.
Right after finishing chats with Ying Chanxi and Xu Youyu, Yan Zhusheng called again.
So Li Luo had to get up, walk to the balcony, and chat on the phone with Yan Zhusheng for over half an hour.
When he returned, Cheng Xin and Wen Zexuan both looked at him.
The latter grinned and teased: "Chatting with your girlfriend?"
"Yeah."
"Cheng Xin said your girlfriend's our senior?"
"Yeah." Li Luo nodded, climbing back onto his bed.
His girlfriend was indeed a senior—but the one he'd just been chatting with wasn't.
Li Luo muttered this to himself, then resumed casual chat with his roommates.
By over ten at night, the four gradually fell asleep.
……
The next morning, at six o'clock, Li Luo woke up on time.
He got up, glanced at his still-sleeping roommates, rolled out of bed, quickly washed up in the bathroom, then went downstairs to head to Zhulu Xuan to find Ying Chanxi.
But as soon as he stepped out the front gate of Qingxi Dormitory, he saw Yan Zhusheng in sportswear, standing sweetly at the entrance waiting for him.
"Why are you here?" Li Luo raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Didn't we say we wouldn't run together these two days?"
Because the Music College was across the Yin River, the round trip was too inconvenient, so their morning runs had to be split.
Li Luo and Ying Chanxi ran together; Yan Zhusheng had to run alone.
"I got up half an hour early," Yan Zhusheng's cheeks were flushed—clearly, she'd run all the way from across the river.
"So silly," Li Luo ruffled her hair, then led her toward Zhulu Xuan. "Let's go."
"Okay."
Soon after, the two met Ying Chanxi at the gate of Zhulu Xuan.
Ying Chanxi had been smiling—but when she saw Yan Zhusheng, her face darkened: "Why are you here too?"
"I came early," Yan Zhusheng said, perfectly reasonable. "Do you dislike me now?"
Ying Chanxi huffed, slightly annoyed—but since Zhusheng was already here, she couldn't send her away.
She'd thought Yan Zhusheng was far across the river, and Xu Youyu couldn't wake up early—so she'd have Li Luo all to herself during the morning run.
Even this small wish could not be fulfilled.
"You and Senior Ying have already split up Li Luo's boyfriend time," Yan Zhusheng said flatly. "I'm already far away, and I get nothing at all—I just came along for the morning run, and yet you still want to chase me off."
"I didn't mean it that way! Don't make things up!" Ying Chanxi hurriedly denied.
"Alright, alright," Li Luo interrupted them quickly, pulling them both into a slow jog.
……
After breakfast, Li Luo drove Yan Zhusheng back to the opposite campus.
Sitting in the front passenger seat, Yan Zhusheng suddenly said: "Once military training ends, I'm going straight to learn how to drive."
"Sure," Li Luo chuckled. "It really is inconvenient shuttling between the two campuses—having a car would make things much easier."
"Mm." Yan Zhusheng nodded firmly, finally realizing the importance of learning to drive.
After dropping Yan Zhusheng off at Zhenjiang Dormitory, Li Luo had planned to leave right away.
But after unfastening her seatbelt, Yan Zhusheng made no move to get out—instead, she asked Li Luo to park in the spot beside them.
"What's wrong?" Li Luo frowned slightly, but still obeyed, finding a parking space beneath their dorm building.
The next instant, Yan Zhusheng had already thrown herself into Li Luo's arms, clinging to him tightly.
"Stay with me for a while," Yan Zhusheng whispered.
Li Luo had originally wanted to head back early to squeeze in some writing time.
But seeing how clingy she was, he no longer rushed to leave.
Still, the position was uncomfortable for Yan Zhusheng, so Li Luo simply leaned the seat back.
Seeing this, Yan Zhusheng took advantage immediately, climbing fully onto Li Luo's lap.
The two sat quietly, savoring the stillness—until Yan Zhusheng sensed Li Luo's subtle movement and whispered beside his ear: "Are you in pain?"
"... It's fine."
"Then let me help you," Yan Zhusheng said innocently, blinking up at him—but her small hands were anything but innocent.
Hearing this, Li Luo's breath caught, and his eyes instinctively flicked toward the car window beside him.
Their parking spot was along the wall side of the dorm building; since the car's rear faced the dorm entrance, no students passed by on the side.
But when Li Luo looked up at the rearview mirror, he clearly saw students coming and going through the dorm entrance.
And right now, he was in the car, pinned beneath Yan Zhusheng.
"This isn't very good, is it?" Li Luo hesitated.
"I remember Ying Chanxi said before that the windows on this car can't be seen through from the outside, right?" Yan Zhusheng asked.
"Well, that's what they say…"
As Li Luo spoke, Yan Zhusheng had already leaned down—and soon made it impossible for him to speak.
