Chapter 676: My Dorm Assistant Senior Is My Girlfriend

~14 min read 2,681 words

After lunch, the four of them returned to their dorm.

Cheng Xin planned to take a nap, while Bai Haoran rested for a while before heading to the library.

Wen Zexuan, however, was full of energy; after scrolling on his phone for a short while, he stood up with a grin and began changing clothes to go out.

"Where are you going dressed like that?" Cheng Xin asked curiously, watching him don a stylish casual outfit.

"On a date with my senior," Wen Zexuan said, shaking his phone with a smile. "They haven't started school yet, and they're free these days—I'm trying to land her."

"Already?!" Cheng Xin widened his eyes, feeling his worldview shaken. "Didn't you just add her on WeChat?"

"Adding someone on WeChat is for going out, isn't it?" Wen Zexuan looked at him strangely. "Get the relationship settled before military training starts—you'll see, she'll come to bring me drinks herself."

"Really?" Cheng Xin found this exaggerated, his face filled with disbelief. "Shouldn't you spend time getting to know each other first before…"

"You've watched too many novels and anime," Wen Zexuan waved his hand. "In real life, finding someone isn't that complicated—if she says yes, go out; if not, move on. Why hang yourself on one tree?"

"Enough said."

"I'm off! See you tonight!"

Wen Zexuan left the dorm like a breeze.

Bai Haoran followed shortly after, heading toward the school library.

Cheng Xin sighed on his bed, feeling his roommates were all so impressive—he may have done well academically, but in every other aspect, he couldn't keep up.

"You don't need to be so anxious," Li Luo picked up his phone and walked out, soothing him. "In college, sincerity still finds sincerity."

"I think so too," Cheng Xin agreed with Li Luo, though he still thought Wen Zexuan's approach to relationships was unhealthy. Seeing Li Luo was also leaving, he asked, "Where are you going?"

"My girlfriend called me," Li Luo shook his phone and smiled at Cheng Xin. "I'll go ahead—see you at the class meeting tonight."

Cheng Xin: "..."

After leaving Cheng Xin alone in the dorm, Li Luo walked toward the neighboring Zhulu Xuan residential area.

Soon, he spotted Ying Chanxi's slender figure at the entrance.

Although they had privately agreed that for the next month, Xu Youyu would pretend to be Li Luo's girlfriend,

that was only for the sake of his roommates.

In private, things remained as they were.

When Ying Chanxi saw Li Luo, she immediately grabbed his hand and turned toward the campus.

"Why did you call me out?" Li Luo followed her, crossing the street and entering Qianjiang University's south gate.

"Just walk around," Ying Chanxi swayed his arm. "You're free this afternoon—come keep me company."

"I can, but don't let my girlfriend find out," Li Luo said with a smile.

"You're asking for a punch," Ying Chanxi pouted and huffed, but then felt a thrill—this felt like sneaking around.

She instinctively glanced left and right, saw no familiar faces, and finally exhaled in relief.

Then she realized her own mindset—and grew angry.

"It's all your senior's fault," Ying Chanxi muttered unhappily. "We wouldn't have to be so sneaky."

"It's fine," Li Luo held her hand as they walked along Qianjiang University's internal paths toward Qiuzhen Lake. "It's not easy to bump into anyone I know—my three roommates aren't here."

"Are they all in the dorm?" Ying Chanxi asked curiously.

"One's in the dorm, one's at the library, and one's on a date," Li Luo said, gently stroking her small hand. "What about your roommate?"

"Xinyan went to the library too," Ying Chanxi sighed. "She said she just wants to study hard now and plans to major in law later."

"That's not bad," Li Luo coughed, unwilling to bring up the painful memories from summer.

Ying Chanxi didn't press further, still quietly pitying Qiao Xinyan, then added: "Another roommate went to the library with Xinyan, and the last one went out looking for a boyfriend—just like me~"

As she spoke, her tone lifted slightly, sounding delighted.

But Li Luo smiled and reminded her: "You're going after someone else's boyfriend."

"Shut up," Ying Chanxi punched him playfully. "You're mine now."

"Mine what?" Li Luo grinned, pressing further.

"Mine, mine…" Ying Chanxi couldn't answer right away, huffed, stomped on his foot, then blushed and ran ahead toward Qiuzhen Lake.

The two wandered around for a while, then strolled over an hour more through other parts of Qianjiang University.

When they reached secluded spots, Ying Chanxi would quietly pull Li Luo to a stop, just like when they filmed the MV at Fuyi High School, stealing small moments together.

After touring Qianjiang University all afternoon, they returned to the dormitory complex across Ningshan Avenue, passed through the residential area, and arrived at Ningshan Park, nestled at the foot of Ningshan Mountain.

"We came here together before—do you remember?" Ying Chanxi pointed to a green lake before the mountain trail entrance.

"Of course I remember," Li Luo pinched her cheek. "I took photos of you here, right? Then we asked someone to take a group shot—you wouldn't even let me see the pictures."

"So now you want to see them?" Ying Chanxi bit her lip, hopeful.

"Not really," Li Luo pretended.

"Do you want to?" Ying Chanxi glared at him.

"No."

"Say you want to! Hurry up!" Ying Chanxi shook his arm, pouting.

"Okay okay, I want to, I want to see," Li Luo said, finally relenting at her adorable expression, grinning.

Hearing that, Ying Chanxi finally pulled out her phone and quickly scrolled through her album to find their old photo.

Li Luo leaned over to look, then said: "It's not special—it's just an ordinary group photo."

"You don't understand," Ying Chanxi huffed.

In the photo, Ying Chanxi stood beside Li Luo, holding his arm—not letting go, but half-draping and half-supporting herself against him, her body slightly leaning in.

Due to the angle, she appeared to be fully nestled against him, utterly sweet and dependent.

Three years ago, their relationship hadn't been this intimate—Ying Chanxi reaching this level was already the absolute limit.

"Time really flies," Li Luo looked at the slightly younger versions of themselves in the photo, feeling a quiet pang of nostalgia.

Although to him, even now that both were eighteen, they were still quite immature, comparing them to three years ago made the difference immediately clear.

"Don't you think you've gotten handsomer?" Ying Chanxi glanced at the photo, then at Li Luo, murmuring softly.

"I think you've gotten prettier," Li Luo pinched her cheek.

"So I wasn't pretty before?" Ying Chanxi puffed out her cheeks and pushed his fingers away.

Li Luo chuckled, ruffled her hair, then bent down and kissed her: "Back then, you were pretty like a bud just about to bloom; now you're blooming gradually—can't be compared the same way."

"Hmph." Ying Chanxi hummed, but the curve of her lips betrayed her mood.

The two sat on a bench by the small lake, bored, and began flipping through old photos.

Only then did Li Luo realize Ying Chanxi's phone was almost entirely filled with pictures of him.

"When did you sneak these photos? How come there are even shots in the classroom?" Li Luo raised an eyebrow. "The top student in grade, sneaking phone use in class, huh?"

"So what?" Ying Chanxi rolled her eyes. "We've graduated—what are you gonna do to me?"

"I could let Teacher Kong teach you a lesson."

"Don't you dare touch!" Ying Chanxi blushed and slapped his hand away, then kept showing him photos.

The two stayed at Ningshan Park until evening, after which Ying Chanxi took Li Luo to the cafeteria at Zhulu Xuan for dinner.

"What time is your evening class meeting?" Ying Chanxi asked.

"Seven. What about yours?"

"Ours too," Ying Chanxi said. "It's still early—can you come home with me for a bit?"

"Why go back now?"

"I want to grab something for my dorm."

"Didn't you take it yesterday?" Li Luo frowned.

"Yesterday we had three people's bedding and stuff—it was too much. I was afraid I couldn't carry it all."

"What are you going to get?"

"I-I mean, the panda plushie," Ying Chanxi whispered. "I thought it wouldn't matter, but I couldn't sleep well without it."

Without Li Luo beside her and without the panda plushie, Ying Chanxi inevitably had trouble sleeping.

Li Luo smiled and pinched her cheek: "Are you missing me too much when you sleep?"

"No way!" Ying Chanxi huffed. "Are you coming or not? If not, I'm going back to the dorm."

"Alright, alright, I'll take you back to get it."

Li Luo held her small hand, drove back to Qingxi Dormitory to get the car, then went to Bihai Lanting for the panda plushie.

……

While Li Luo was with his girlfriend and Wen Zexuan was chasing girls, only Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran remained in the dorm—just as the semester had barely begun.

Cheng Xin sighed deeply and said to Bai Haoran: "I thought after entering university, everyone would keep working hard, study their majors seriously, and land good jobs after graduation…"

"Aren't I doing exactly that?" Bai Haoran glanced at him. "Besides, Li Luo's local—his family probably isn't short on money. Does he even need to work hard for a job?"

"Uh…" Cheng Xin was momentarily speechless, then said, "What about Wen Zexuan then?"

"Pure scumbag," Bai Haoran delivered his precise assessment. "I don't think he'll achieve much in his field, but if he wants to live off a woman's money, he's got real potential."

"Pure scumbag," Bai Haoran remarked precisely. "Though I think he won't amount to much in his career, if he wants to live off a woman's money, he's got a promising future."

"You think the same thing—I just know you're too embarrassed to say it out loud," Bai Haoran glanced at him. "The truth is the truth. Everyone has their own life. Don't keep envying others just because you see their good side."

"I really envy you…" Cheng Xin couldn't help saying after listening. "I just can't see things as clearly as you do."

Bai Haoran gave him a weary look, then stood up when they were nearly done eating: "Let's go—class meeting's starting."

Bai Haoran glanced at him helplessly, then stood up once they'd nearly finished eating. "Let's go. It's time for the class meeting."

Cheng Xin hurried after him, heading with Bai Haoran to the Administration Building of the College of Humanities.

Cheng Xin hurried after him, heading with Bai Haoran to the College of Literature's administrative building.

Classroom 101 on the first floor of the College of Humanities Administration Building—when Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran arrived, only a few people were inside.

Cheng Xin noticed the classroom was filled entirely with girls and felt slightly embarrassed; he quickly pulled Bai Haoran to the back row and sat down.

Qian University's humanities stream has always had few male students; the gender ratio hovers around 3:7.

For example, this year's Humanities Class One, where Li Luo and others were, had forty students total—twelve boys, twenty-eight girls.

As time slowly passed and seven p. m. neared, more people gradually filled the classroom.

The few boys who entered, seeing only a small cluster of males seated in the back, all squeezed toward Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran.

Fortunately, they'd deliberately saved two empty seats, waiting for their roommates.

Around 6:50 p. m., a man and a woman entered the classroom.

The previously noisy room instantly grew quieter as they walked in.

The male class assistant, Zhong Leixiang, stepped in, exchanged a few words with a girl beside him, then walked straight toward the cluster of boys in the back, smiling and greeting them.

But Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran didn't look at Zhong Leixiang—even the other boys didn't.

All eyes were fixed on the girl who had entered with Zhong Leixiang, unable to look away.

"Stop staring, stop staring," Zhong Leixiang sighed, waving his hand in front of them. "That's your other class assistant."

"Don't stare, don't stare," Zhong Leixiang sighed, raising his hand and waving it a few times in front of them. "That's your other class assistant."

"So beautiful."

"Her figure is incredible."

Some whispered.

Others quietly asked Zhong Leixiang: "Senior, is she your girlfriend?"

"How could that be?" Zhong Leixiang rolled his eyes. "She already has a boyfriend—no chance for me."

"How could that be?" Zhong Leixiang rolled his eyes. "She already has a boyfriend—what chance do I have?"

Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran snapped out of their daze, exchanged a glance, and said nothing.

Xu Youyu, upon entering the classroom, immediately struck up a lively chat with the first-year girls, chattering away with a grin.

Only after Zhong Leixiang finished chatting and returned to the podium did Xu Youyu emerge from the group of girls and walk toward the boys' side.

At that moment, the boys all held their breath, curious about what this senior class assistant wanted.

But Xu Youyu walked straight over to Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran, glanced left and right, then asked them in confusion, "Where's Li Luo? Why isn't he with you?"

"Huh?" Cheng Xin blinked, looking bewildered. "When he left this afternoon, he said he was going to find a senior."

Xu Youyu raised an eyebrow. "He meant he was going to find his girlfriend, right?"

"Y-yeah." Cheng Xin nodded.

"Oh." Xu Youyu smiled knowingly. "I had something to do, so we parted ways. He probably didn't go back to the dorm."

"Maybe." Cheng Xin scratched his head, unsure where Li Luo had gone, but still curious. "You're our class assistant—why didn't you mention this before?"

"Because Li Luo doesn't even know about it," Xu Youyu chuckled. "I wanted to surprise him."

"No wonder…" Cheng Xin suddenly understood.

"Well, I'll go check the hallway to see if he's arrived." Xu Youyu waved goodbye and turned away with a graceful stride.

The other boys' gazes instantly locked onto Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran.

One of the more forward boys leaned over and whispered, "Who's this Li Luo the senior just mentioned?"

"My roommate…" Cheng Xin scratched his head. "He's the senior's boyfriend."

"Huh?"

"What?!"

"My heart's broken."

The boys stared in shock—this stunning, seductive senior with a perfect figure was taken… and the one who took her was a freshman like them!

How fast was that?!

Is there no justice?!

But just as the boys were reeling, Wen Zexuan walked in from outside the classroom.

He moved like the wind, spotted his roommate immediately, and rushed over.

He plopped down, unable to contain his excitement, yet forced himself to calm down, lowering his voice to tell his two roommates: "I just saw the most gorgeous girl in the hallway!"

"Seriously, unbelievably hot!"

"I went up to talk to her—and turns out she's our class assistant!"

"If I'd known our class assistant was this beautiful, why would I have gone on a date with that med school senior?"

"Total waste of time."

"After this class meeting, watch me in action—I'm switching targets!"

Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran exchanged glances.

Cheng Xin was about to say something, but it was exactly 7 p. m.

Li Luo walked in at the very last moment, looking half-amused, half-exhausted. He greeted Xu Youyu, who entered right after him, then walked straight to his roommate's side and sat down.

Wen Zexuan pulled Li Luo over, grinning. "Our class assistant is super hot, isn't she? Too bad you've already got a girlfriend—I'll have to pursue her myself now."

Li Luo stared at Wen Zexuan in surprise, then looked at Cheng Xin and Bai Haoran. "Didn't you tell him?"

"Uh…" Cheng Xin scratched his head, embarrassed. "We meant to, but we didn't get the chance."

"What didn't you get the chance to do?" Wen Zexuan looked around, baffled. "What are you guys hiding?"

Li Luo cleared his throat twice, then pointed at Xu Youyu, who was smiling sweetly on the podium, and said solemnly: "Xu Youyu, our class assistant—she's my girlfriend."

"... Huh?"
