Chapter 14: Helping Out When Seeing Injustice!
"What is going on?"
Tang Ye thought it was a medical dispute and hurriedly pulled Doctor Cao out from the crowd.
Doctor Cao explained in a low voice, "A young man brought in a patient with a cerebral infarction. When he heard he had to register and pay, he said he didn't have any money on him. Everyone is worried he wants to run away, so they won't let him leave."
The young man, who looked to be around twenty, was surrounded in the middle, flushed red with anxiety.
"Young man, you cannot leave. Hurry to the payment window and pay the money."
"I didn't hit her! I kindly brought her to the hospital, how can you extort me?"
"The doctor already said it, she must be treated immediately, otherwise even if she is saved, there will be sequelae."
"I don't have that much money, and even if I did, you can't use moral kidnapping to force me to pay for this, right?"
"You hit someone and plan to not take responsibility? Everyone, don't let him leave."
"Regardless of whether you hit her or not, you cannot leave until the Police arrive."
The young man tried to force his way out of the scene, rushing forward several times, but was blocked back by security guards and the crowd.
A young Nurse was pleading with the onlookers, "Don't let him go. If he leaves, we won't be able to find him later."
Tang Ye, who was tall and sturdy, looked over the heads of the crowd and had a clear view of the scene. He frowned and muttered, "He doesn't look like he's lying."
Doctor Cao had a serious expression, "I've encountered many similar situations before. People hit someone, see that the medical expenses are very high, and in the time it takes to turn around, they've vanished. In this day and age, how many people are actually willing to help others?"
Tang Ye looked toward the treatment room.
An old lady was lying on the bed, her eyes tightly shut, with white foam appearing at the corners of her mouth.
He stared at the old lady again and again, then his pupils suddenly dilated. He parted the crowd and forced his way in.
"Everyone stop arguing, hurry and save the person, I will pay the medical expenses."
The young man let out a sigh of relief and cast a grateful look toward Tang Ye.
He hadn't done a good deed in all his years growing up, and the one time he finally did, he ended up being misunderstood.
That feeling of grievance was too hard to bear.
Tang Ye's appearance was undoubtedly a timely help.
Cheng Lin came to Tang Ye's side, and when she saw the patient's face clearly, her heart gave a start.
No wonder Tang Ye took the initiative to pay the medical expenses!
It was actually a veteran comrade, Yao Mei, the former director of the city's Investment Promotion Bureau.
Tang Ye first checked the pulse, then flipped open Yao Nainai's eyelids, and gasped!
The pupils were already dilated; this was an extremely ominous sign.
After a cerebral infarction occurs, every minute is a race against the Grim Reaper.
"Everyone shut up, be quiet."
Tang Ye took out his wallet and slapped it into Cheng Lin's hand, "Sis, there is money on the Construction Bank card, hurry and go register for Yao Nainai."
Saving a life is like fighting a fire.
Cheng Lin did not hesitate and ran toward the window.
Tang Ye's decisiveness in handling matters made her forget that he had once been her subordinate.
Tang Ye let out another loud shout, and the surroundings went completely quiet.
"Doctor Cao, please hurry and call the Neurosurgery department."
Doctor Cao was stunned for a moment, secretly thinking, this is clearly my home turf, how did you take charge instead?
However, he thought about it again; Tang Ye's intervention at this moment might be more effective.
"I already called, but Neurosurgery is quite busy over there."
"I'll call Old Tang." Tang Ye took out his phone.
The onlookers stared at Tang Ye strangely.
"This guy sounds pretty arrogant."
"Who is Old Tang?"
"That's his dad, our hospital's Neurosurgery Director."
"Oh... no wonder!"
Tang Ye dialed Tang Yu's number and said directly, "Dad, there is a patient in the Emergency Department with a sudden cerebral infarction. You need to come over immediately to help with the treatment."
Tang Yu was stunned for a moment, thinking that you brat came back in the middle of the night and I didn't even see you, yet the first time you call me is to save someone.
"Got it, I'm in a meeting, I'll be over in a bit!"
"I'm only giving you five minutes."
"You little brat!" Tang Yu was so angry he laughed.
Even the Dean wouldn't dare use that tone to order him around.
Cheng Lin finished paying and returned to the treatment room.
Tang Yu had already arrived at the Emergency Department with two Neurosurgery doctors.
Tang Yu stepped forward to quickly perform a physical examination on the old lady Yao, then immediately instructed the two doctors to transfer her to the Neurosurgery Operating Room to begin surgery at once.
Tang Ye and Cheng Lin did not leave the hospital. After waiting for a while at the entrance of the operating room, Yao Nainai's daughter rushed over and signed the surgical agreement.
The rescue lasted four hours.
The red light in the rescue room finally turned green.
Tang Yu walked out from behind the lead door and took off his mask, "She still needs to be observed in the Intensive Care Unit for a day, but the surgery was quite successful."
"Thank you, Director Tang," Yao Nainai's daughter choked out.
Tang Yu glanced at Tang Ye and turned to leave.
Yao Nainai's daughter then bowed to Cheng Lin and Tang Ye, "Thanks to you both, Director Cheng, Little Tang, if it weren't for you two, my mother's surgery wouldn't have gone so smoothly."
"Don't be so polite, you should thank the young man who acted bravely for justice. He sent the person to the hospital at the first opportunity, winning precious time for the subsequent surgery."
The young man who saved her did not leave.
The police reviewed the surveillance footage from the scene of the incident.
The footage showed Yao Nainai waiting for the green light at an intersection when she suddenly squatted down, held on for a minute or two, and slowly collapsed onto the curb.
Over a dozen people passed by, but they all just took a glance from afar and did not dare to go up and check.
A girl wanted to go up, but her mother grabbed her tightly and held her back.
Only this young man parked his car on the side of the road, helped her into the car, and drove her all the way to the hospital.
Yao Nainai's daughter stepped forward and hurriedly bowed in thanks, "Young man, thank you for today. This is my business card; please leave your contact information for me as well."
The young man swept away his previous gloom, "It's a small matter."
Having said that, the young man recited his phone number to the other party.
The daughter took out an envelope and tried to force it into the young man's pocket.
The young man threw it directly onto the ground, "What are you doing? Don't insult me."
An embarrassed expression flashed across the daughter's face, and she did not insist further, "Sigh, you saying that makes me feel ashamed. When my mother recovers, let me treat you to a meal!"
Only then did a smile appear on the young man's face, "That works."
The young man then walked up to Tang Ye and extended his palm, "Thanks for helping me out of a tight spot today! If it weren't for you, I would have been wrongly accused to death."
"Don't mention it. You have quite a strong sense of justice." Tang Ye patted the young man's shoulder firmly.
"Let's exchange contact information! My name is Lin Ziyang."
"My name is Tang Ye." Tang Ye recited his phone number.
The young man took the initiative to call him with his mobile phone.
Tang Ye saved the name in his contacts.
The young man waved goodbye.
Cheng Lin used to think that Tang Ye always loved to meddle in this and that and was especially enthusiastic, but now, upon careful reflection, she realized that his popularity was accumulated exactly like this.
Always optimistic, always sunny, and full of passion for everything he does.
Cheng Lin turned her wrist to check the time and said regretfully, "I originally planned to treat you to lunch at noon to properly thank you, but I didn't expect it to be delayed until three o'clock."
Tang Ye rubbed his belly and said with a smile, "Now that you mention it, I am indeed hungry."
Cheng Lin smiled like a blooming flower, "Let's go, what do you want to eat?"
Tang Ye said with a smile, "I know a place nearby that serves excellent Long-fish Noodles."
Cheng Lin snapped her fingers, "GO, GO, GO!"
Yao Nainai's son-in-law rushed to the hospital.
"Mom, how is she?"
"Her life was snatched back! She is in the Intensive Care Unit. Director Tang performed the surgery himself; there was a lot of bleeding. If it had been a few minutes later, we could only have sent her to the Provincial People's Hospital, and even if she were saved, it would have been useless."
The son-in-law sighed, "Director Tang's level is truly high!"
The daughter said softly, "This time we have to thank Director Tang's son; he even paid the medical expenses in advance, and I forgot to pay him back. By the way, his name is Tang Ye, do you have any impression of him?"
The son-in-law patted his forehead, "The boy Mom mentioned a few times that she wanted to introduce to Qingqing?"
The daughter nodded, "Yes, he is indeed a man of talent! His speech and manners are both good, and he is a warm-hearted person; no wonder Mom likes him so much."
