Chapter 22: Six Major Systems and Goblin Subjugation
Gelikete was not wrong; although Naimi Xisi possesses mana comparable to a Legendary Sorcerer, they are still only a Sixth-level Psychic Sorcerer who can unleash a three‑ring ability, and that Astral Giant Whale could probably turn them into a black hole with a single Psychic Ability.
The Goblin Arcanist hesitated for a moment, then took out an old, hefty nameless book and handed it to Naimi Xisi.
"True Dragon Excellency, this is the sum of my years of cultivating Psychic Abilities; it contains many insights I have gained into various Psychic Abilities. I hope to use this book to exchange for your protection of Bricolekt City."
Gelikete felt uneasy; after witnessing the scene in the Star Realm, they realized that the Dragon before them possessed an absolutely overwhelming Psychic Ability talent, and their book was merely a convenience for the other party, who had just awakened and hoped to quickly obtain low‑circle Psychic Abilities.
Naimi Xisi raised an eyebrow; they indeed had such a need, but it also depended on who the so‑called protection was intended for.
They would not risk their life for this book.
Psychic Ability originates from prolonged, rigorous self‑examination and mental discipline that cultivates one's spiritual power. Those beings who have overcome inner demons and countless unforeseen hardships, and who can purge distracting thoughts, have learned how to awaken the latent power within their bodies.
Psychic Sorcerers, by continuously studying their own psychic consciousness, uncover ever broader and stronger spiritual power. They meditate deeply on their memories and the nature of those memories, debate with fragments of their own personality, and probe every dark corner of the mind.
"Know thyself" is not only a maxim of Psychic Sorcerers, but also a path to great power.
This is also a means by which Psychic Sorcerers acquire Psychic Abilities; they naturally awaken certain abilities, such as the Mind Flayer's "Mana Shock Explosion".
Beyond that, if a Psychic Sorcerer wishes to obtain a new Psychic Ability, they must endure years of barren sitting, awaiting a flash of insight to grasp its usage, or use a Psychic Stone to absorb its mana and thereby acquire the full Psychic Ability.
However, Psychic Stones are extremely precious; they are rare raw gems formed by the fusion of Star Realm Power and the material plane, possessing effects akin to a Spell Scroll—they can store Psychic Abilities, which can be crushed and released when needed.
Psychic Stones are exceedingly scarce, and their price exceeds that of comparable Spell Scrolls by more than threefold; only very wealthy Psychic Sorcerers can afford the extravagant method of purchasing Psychic Stones to study abilities.
Therefore, the cheapest and most disseminable learning method is through Sorcerers who have mastered a large number of Psychic Abilities; by imparting experience, they can help other Sorcerers save the vast majority of time and quickly acquire the Psychic Abilities they possess.
Psychic Abilities are divided into six major systems, namely:
Psychic Premonition system: Psychic Sorcerers who specialize in this are called Insight Seekers. Insight Seekers can uncover prophetic abilities to aid teammates in battle, or gather intelligence in various ways.
Psychic Creation system: Psychic Sorcerers who specialize in this are called Shapemasters. Shapemasters' abilities include extracting Star Matter or other substances from the Star Realm to create semi‑solid or solid items. The items they create can be weapons, armor, or animated constructs that obey the Shapemaster in combat.
Psychic Conversion system: Psychic Sorcerers who specialize in this are called Energy Shapers. They are masters of manipulating and transmuting energy and matter. Energy Shapers can launch fierce energy eruptions as attacks.
Psychic Self‑Shaping system: Psychic Sorcerers who specialize in this are called Metamorphs. This innate system includes abilities that can alter the metabolism of the Psychic Sorcerer or nearby creatures. Metamorphs can both heal and transform into fearsome warriors.
Psychic Teleportation system: Psychic Sorcerers who rely on this ability are called Soul Travelers. Soul Travelers can use the ability to propel or move objects across time or space.
Psychic Enchantment system: Psychic Sorcerers who choose this are called Mindbenders. They are experts in abilities used for mental contact and controlling other sentient beings. Mindbenders can easily deceive or destroy an opponent's will.
As a manifestation of Star Realm Power, the True Dragon formed by the fusion of the Juan Ce Long bloodline, Star Realm Power, and Mind Power possesses all Psychic Enchantment and Psychic Teleportation abilities innately, and even at the Extreme Elder Dragon Stage can obtain and use all Legendary Psychic Abilities of those two systems! Gelikete is a Sorcerer who dual‑cultivates the Conversion and Self‑Shaping systems; their cultivation manual can greatly fill the gaps in Naimi Xisi's abilities beyond the Teleportation and Enchantment systems.
Naimi Xisi took the book, and Mind Power probed into the other's consciousness, probing the truth behind the commission.
"I see. Dark Elf? I didn't expect that pack of brain‑eating monsters to have vanished," Naimi Xisi whispered.
Gelikete widened their eyes; as a Psychic Sorcerer, almost no one in the world can read their memories, which is why the Psychic Enchantment system is considered the weakest among Psychic Sorcerers in internal conflicts—it can only be used to control an opponent when there is a level suppression.
But they were actually having their memories read by this Dragon without noticing?! Their gaze turned wary; no one can remain arrogant after being easily crushed in their own strongest field, and at this moment the Blue Goblin finally fully submitted to the True Dragon.
"Yes, my lord, Aolingduoer City has vanished," Gelikete said respectfully. Dark Elves are one of the overlords of the Underdark; their influence almost radiates the entire Upper and Middle layers of the Underdark, but the north‑central region where Bricolekt City lies has virtually no Dark Elf presence.
Because beneath Bricolekt City, the north‑central area of the Middle Dark Region is occupied by an even more terrifying race.
Mind Flayer.
The Mind Flayer built a massive city here—Aolingduoer—and its influence radiates across the north‑central areas of both the Upper and Middle layers.
That is why this vast territory lacks any Dark Elf presence.
The Upper region here is assumed to be the production source for the Mind Flayer slaves.
But just a year ago, Aolingduoer was destroyed.
In a single night, the massive dark city was annihilated by some terrifying force; all beings perished instantly under an incomprehensible power, and the ruler at the city's center—a powerful Mind Flayer Elder Brain—also vanished.
With the ZhuZhuZhe eliminated, a huge power vacuum emerged in this region, and after prolonged probing, the Dark Elves began dispatching troops to occupy the north‑central area.
Many cities have already fallen, and only a few Mana‑infused dark cities that still house Mind Flayers continue to hold out.
Bricolekt City is merely a small Goblin town on the frontier.
Although before Aolingduoer's disappearance, Bricolekt City had long pledged loyalty to the Mind Flayers under Gelikete's leadership, now their patron has fallen and danger has arrived.
A noble from the Dark Elf Matron Mother Family set their sights on this place; they sent someone here, demanding that Bricolekt City swear fealty to them and that each year they contribute twice as many slaves as Aolingduoer did.
Even with the Goblins' reproductive capacity, such a number of tributes would drain the entire Goblin Tribe.
Volensa and Gelikete have been troubled for a long time; as Goblin leaders, they can accept exchanging their people for survival, but they will never accept annihilating the entire Goblin Tribe for their own lives.
That is why Gelikete set their sights on Naimi Xisi.
Naimi Xisi thought for a moment; the Dark Elves' strength is indisputable—they possess not only great power but also massive slave armies, making them an undeniable formidable opponent.
But if it is merely a noble from the Matron Mother Family eyeing this place, Juan Ce Long believes they can still handle it.
Moreover, Gelikete's cultivation manual, as well as this Goblin city, are still very tempting to them.
One should know that in the past three years, Cold Iron Weapons have yielded him over 40,000 gold coins in profit; if he could acquire the entire Bricolekt City to serve him, Naimi Xisi imagined his lair carpeted with gold coins and studded with gems, and his mouth watered.
"That's not enough," Juan Ce Long shook his head and said authoritatively.
"Bricolekt City has no conditions for independence—never did, nor does now. Submit to me, become my Dependents, and I will grant you protection."
Gelikete sighed at these words; the weak Goblins have no chance of independence, which they have long understood.
"Very well, at least become Dependents of the True Dragon, and we can escape the threat of annihilation."
The Goblin Arcanist knelt, lowered their proud head, and said loyally, "I will persuade Volensa; Bricolekt City will serve you."
