Chapter 44: The Slovenly Dragon's Domain
Naimi Xisi glanced at her, and he knew this mother dragon's thoughts perfectly.
"Treasure? Bring it on!" Naimi Xisi, determined to rob the black dragon, calmly nodded and said, "Indeed, during the few days you were kidnapped, I slept and evolved."
Sgena opened his mouth and, hesitantly, asked, "Why was your sleep so short?"
Naimi Xisi pointed to the skin he had just shed on the floor and said, "In fact, I only used twenty minutes."
Sgena inhaled a breath of cool air; shedding skin in such a short time must have been excruciatingly painful.
Speaking, Naimi Xisi noticed a mechanism on the floor where the obelisk had originally stood.
He gently shifted the mechanism, and the portal reappeared in the hall.
Dragging Sgena's wing, Naimi Xisi led the immobilized black dragon out of the sixth level.
At this moment, the exterior of the Psionic Tower was already surrounded by Gray Dwarves and orcs.
Seeing two dragons emerge, they nervously drew weapons, and an older‑looking Gray Dwarf trembled as he questioned Naimi Xisi.
"Where is our High Priest? What have you done to the High Priest?!"
Naimi Xisi understood internally; it seemed Gode had preemptively communicated with them, preventing a scenario where he might die.
The idea was good, but it was of no use.
Sgena, unable to hold back any longer, saw these Gray Dwarves still daring to question her, and, dragging her grievously wounded body, roared, "Damned bug, you still have the nerve to ask about your damn High Priest? He dared to enslave the True Dragon; he should be ready to die!"
Sgena's words caused a stir among the Gray Dwarves, and the orcs became anxious and uneasy.
Having already lost Sarufar, their newly elected orc leader was merely a lowly fifth‑rank Warrior.
They heavily relied on Gode's leadership.
Naimi Xisi lazily raised his claw, signaling them to be silent; the massive Dragon Might swept over all creatures, and the Gray Dwarves and orcs trembled and knelt.
"It appears that the Psychic Dragon's Dragon Might is greatly amplified during the Youth Dragon Stage compared to other dragon breeds."
Naimi Xisi was very satisfied with the result; the Psychic Dragon naturally excels in Spiritual Power, and Dragon Might is essentially a form of mental control.
Such an enhancement is only natural.
"There's no need to mourn your former leader. Gray Dwarves, orcs, I understand your bewilderment," he said, exceedingly empathetic.
"This is why I—the great White Mystery—here grant you a chance, a chance to pledge fealty to me!"
"Those willing to submit to me shall earn the right to become my Dependents; you will trek six hundred kilometers to my domain, where you will obtain a new life!"
Naimi Xisi's words stirred them; the True Dragon's power was indisputable, and without a strong leader, how could they defend this massive fortress under the Dark Elf's command? This is also why Naimi Xisi demanded his Dependents return to his own domain—the Mind Flayer fortress is a necessary waypoint for the Dark Elf's southward advance; as long as they do not give up, families will still come.
Even though he has already evolved into a Youth Dragon, he cannot challenge the authority of Menzoberranzan.
He will have all Dependents hold the original domain—near the Cold Iron Vein—building new cities to thrive. This also gives his Dependents the chance to evacuate underground at any time.
Of course, before that, he must first rob this mother dragon's nest!
In the end, most orcs chose to submit under the True Dragon's banner, while almost no Gray Dwarves converted.
Naimi Xisi gave a knowing glance at the leading Gray Dwarf, for he understood why these Gray Dwarves chose to stay.
Even though they know that under the Dark Elf's iron hooves, death is their only fate.
These Gray Dwarves guard the obelisk. "Unfortunately, the thing you guard is already shattered."
Naimi Xisi gave them no warning; after all, he didn't much need the Gray Dwarves' combat power—having members of the Klanjatin clan forge equipment for him was sufficient.
"Let's go; after all, we're of the same kind, I'll send you back to your domain," Naimi Xisi said to Sgena with a smile.
But for some reason, looking at that smile made Sgena's spine grow cold. — "Is this your domain?" Naimi Xisi said with a scornful face.
The scene before them was a swamp filled with black, viscous liquid and mud, a strong smell of acid wafting through the air, making the dragon retch.
"Yeah, what's the matter? Isn't it wonderful? The delightful filthy water and that fragrant acidic scent—I've spent five years meticulously cultivating it!" Sgena declared confidently.
Naimi Xisi covered his nose with his claw; he had long heard that black dragons are the slovenly dragons among True Dragons—seeing it confirmed the tale, and the deathly odor made a dragon wish to die.
A human old woman suddenly stepped out of a blue portal, looking obsequiously at Sgena, her dirty fingernails coated in mud.
"Oh~ my great master, you have returned. In the thirty‑six days of your absence, I have faithfully tended your domain."
"The swamp, following your orders, casts the Filth Water Technique daily,"
"The plants at the entrance of your cave also thrive under my careful care,"
"The fish in the swamp have even doubled in number since you left!"
"So, great master," the old woman rubbed her hands eagerly and asked, "When will you lift our contract?"
Sgena snorted, glanced left and right, then began to pick faults.
"The swamp water is clearly clearer than when I left!"
"The plants at my cave's entrance have withered! I counted, and at least three leaves are missing!"
"As for those fish, I no longer like fish! You polluted my swamp with some trash!"
"With such service quality, you still want me to lift the contract? To punish your negligence, I will add another fifty years of service!"
"No!!!"
The hunchbacked old woman grew increasingly sorrowful as she listened, and when she heard her own verdict, she covered her face and ran away.
After she left, Sgena continued to mutter curses, complaining about these troublesome subordinates.
Naimi Xisi said with a hidden meaning, "A green ghost hag, where did you get her?"
Sgena replied proudly, "She came on her own, inexplicably arrived here, claimed she would make this her home; after I beat her up, I forced her to sign a slave contract."
Naimi Xisi nodded; that explained it.
Ghost hags are terrifying dark monsters; they generally possess high intelligence and decent spellcasting ability, often disguising themselves as elderly human women to deceive prey.
The green ghost hag is a type of ghost hag; they usually linger in desolate swamps or dark forests, enjoying using various spells to ambush prey in the shadows.
If an enemy mistakes their fragile appearance for truth and engages in close combat, the green ghost hag will tear the foe apart with strength comparable to a troll.
Every adult green ghost hag naturally has a ninth‑level sorcerer rank and numerous supernatural abilities; had it not been for the shameless brute Sgena, that green ghost hag could probably thrive here.
