Chapter 515: Scaling the Wall

~6 min read 1,175 words

Lin stood behind the utility pole opposite the school gate, staring at the tightly shut school gate, her expression gradually hardening.

"San Yue Jie." Her voice was a bit wavering.

"What's wrong?"

San Yue Qi remained alert, watching the surroundings, fearing that Yan Feng the madman might suddenly leap out from some corner.

"I think…"

Lin lowered her head to glance at her newly changed clothes—a casual jacket with long pants, clean enough but definitely not a school uniform, "I'm not wearing a school uniform, banana."

San Yue Qi turned her head and gave her a once‑over from head to toe.

Then she glanced again at the school gate.

She glanced at Lin again.

"Uh… indeed, not wearing one."

"I was too hasty when changing clothes, banana!"

Lin covered her face, "I completely forgot we still have to get into the school, banana!"

San Yue Qi scratched her head and looked again at the tightly shut gate.

In the gatehouse, an elderly man wearing bifocals was reading a newspaper, occasionally glancing up at the school entrance.

"What do we do then? Going straight in will surely get us stopped, right?"

Lin clenched her teeth.

"Climb over, banana."

San Yue Qi blinked, "What?"

"Climb over, banana!"

Lin repeated resolutely, "How can members of the Tohsaka family be stopped by a mere school gate, banana! Come on, go to the back!"

She grabbed San Yue Qi and sprinted toward the back wall of the school.

The two wound their way through twists and turns, finally finding a relatively secluded section of the fence.

The wall wasn't very tall, and some half‑withered vines clung to it, making it look easy to climb.

Lin took a few steps back, inhaled deeply, and prepared to run—

and leapt!

She grabbed the top of the wall with both hands, kicked the wall a few times, and vaulted up, moving fairly smoothly.

She stumbled a bit on landing, nearly falling into the nearby thicket.

"San Yue Jie, come down quickly, banana!"

San Yue Qi glanced at the wall, then at her own hand, hesitating for 0.3 seconds.

Then she lightly leapt—being an Assassin Heroic Spirit, that height was no issue at all—gliding over the wall and landing beside Lin without making a sound.

Lin watched, feeling a bit envious.

"The body quality of a Heroic Spirit is really great, banana…"

The two had just steadied themselves and hadn't had time to survey the surroundings—

"Sister? San Yue Jie?"

Lin whirled around sharply and saw Ying walking from the corner, her face full of surprise.

"Ying, banana!" Lin almost shouted, quickly lowering her voice and ran over.

"Ying! So glad you're okay, banana!"

Lin grabbed her sister's hand and examined her, "Are you hurt? Did you encounter any strange people?"

Ying, bewildered by her sister's barrage of questions, shook her head, "I'm fine… but sister, what's that wound on your face?"

She reached out, gently touching the small scabbed wound on Lin's cheek, her violet eyes full of concern.

Lin only then realized that the spot previously cut by shattered glass in battle, although it had been simply treated, still left some marks.

"All good, banana, just a minor cut, banana." Lin waved her hand.

"What actually happened?"

Ying's voice carried worry, "Sister, didn't you take a leave? How did it end up like this?"

San Yue Qi glanced around, confirming no one else had noticed, and whispered, "This isn't a place to talk. In short, someone is hunting us."

Ying's pupils narrowed slightly.

"Who?"

Lin clenched her teeth and spat out the name, "Yan Feng Qili, banana."

Ying's complexion changed instantly.

She obviously knew that name.

"He… is back?" Ying's voice trembled.

Lin nodded, "And he's also a Master, banana. San Yue Jie and I suspect his target this time is our Tohsaka family, banana."

Ying fell silent.

Lin continued, "So I plan to send you home first, to let father protect you, banana. This matter is no longer just a Holy Grail War, but a personal grudge with that madman Yan Feng, banana."

Ying looked at her sister's serious expression and gently nodded.

"Alright."

Lin let out a sigh of relief.

Just then—

In the distance, behind a second‑floor window of the Teaching Building, a gaze fell upon them.

—

Bai Hang crouched behind the window, squinting as she strained to look that way.

She hadn't originally noticed this side.

It was Jing Yuan who reminded her, saying that a Heroic Spirit's aura had entered the school, and only then did she turn her gaze toward that corner.

"Three girls…"

She muttered softly, "That purple‑haired one seems to be Sakura‑senpai? The other black‑haired twin‑tails looks familiar… maybe Rin, and the other…"

Bai Hang tried hard to identify the pink‑haired girl's face, but couldn't see it clearly.

But that pink hair felt familiar somehow…

From beside her came Jing Yuan's leisurely voice: "Master, what should we do next? Should we deal with those uninvited guests?"

Bai Hang startled, nearly falling onto the floor.

She turned her head toward the side—Jing Yuan was standing right next to her, relaxed in posture, showing none of the tension a peeper should have.

"W‑what are you talking about handling!"

Bai Hang lowered her voice, "They didn't even provoke us!"

Jing Yuan slightly curled his mouth, a hint of amusement flashing in his golden eyes.

He didn't continue speaking, only thinking silently in his mind:

(That pink‑haired girl... must be Miss San Yue Qi from the Starry Nebula Train, right?)

As a Luofu general, Jing Yuan naturally knew the members of the Train Group.

Earlier, in the Gui Naifen disappearance case, the investigation report had mentioned the name of this San Yue Qi.

He had seen her appearance, traits, even some habits in the files.

But that was the Train Group's San Yue Qi.

The San Yue Qi before him was the same as in the records, yet somehow a bit different.

(Is it a coincidence? Or perhaps… )

Jing Yuan didn't draw a conclusion immediately.

Bai Hang was still trying to discern the situation over there.

She saw Rin holding Sakura's hand, San Yue Qi on guard beside them, the three seeming to be discussing something.

She withdrew her gaze and scratched her head.

"Regardless, among Sakura and Rin, at least one is the Master."

She muttered to herself, "We'll definitely run into them later. Then…"

She suddenly recalled something, her eyes lighting up.

"Sure enough, we still have to act on that idea that popped up in class!"

Jing Yuan raised an eyebrow: "What idea?"

Bai Hang giggled, lowering her voice mysteriously: "Steal… no, borrow some weapons. This world has guns, let's borrow a few for self‑defense!"

Jing Yuan looked at her, a trace of helplessness in his eyes, but also a hint… of nostalgia.

(That personality is truly just like back then.)

"Master, when do you plan to act?"

Bai Hang thought for a moment: "I'll take a leave later. Just say… uh… grandpa forgot to change the diaper?"

Jing Yuan's mouth twitched slightly.
