Chapter 517: Temporary

~7 min read 1,363 words

She blinked.

Tail?

A Monkeys hopped out from behind the cardboard box.

That Monkeys was only thirty centimeters tall, with short yellow fur, round black eyes, and a tuft of hair on its head that stuck up like a banana.

It crouched there, tilting its head as it looked at Ying, its expression blank yet exuding a vibe of "I'm not very smart but I'm happy."

"Jiaojiao."

It called twice.

Ying froze on the spot, her mind a blank.

Monkeys?

Why would there be Monkeys in the Burger Shop?

That Monkeys hopped forward two more steps, looking up at her with the same blank expression.

Ying didn't know what was happening, but she vaguely felt… this was definitely not a good sign.

She slowly stepped back, her gaze fixed on that Monkeys.

"Jiaojiao."

Monkeys called again.

Then—

"Sisi suosuo sisi suosuo——"

In the corner, behind the cardboard box, on the ceiling beams, countless pairs of round black eyes lit up simultaneously.

Ying's pupils suddenly contracted.

Perspective shift.

Lin dropped the wrapper of the last burger, leaning back on the chair with satisfaction.

A mountain‑high pile of burger wrappers was already stacked in front of Saber, yet she kept eating.

San Yue Qi's expression grew increasingly anxious, constantly glancing out the window.

Lin sensed something was off and asked, "What's wrong, Jiaojiao?"

"Ying hasn't arrived yet."

San Yue Qi said, "It's been so long; she should have been here by now."

Lin's expression also changed.

She glanced at the clock.

"Something's off, Jiaojiao." Lin stood up, voice urgent, "San Yue Jie, we have to go back and check on Jiaojiao!"

Saber looked up, giving them a glance.

San Yue Qi had already dashed to the doorway, turned back and waved at Lin, "Quick!"

The two sprinted out of the Burger Shop, racing toward the school.

Saber watched their departing backs in silence for a few seconds, then resumed eating the burger.

Perspective shift.

Lin and San Yue Qi ran at full speed, scaling the wall and charging into the school.

The campus was silent; faint classroom noises drifted from the Teaching Building, and the playground was empty.

"Where's Ying, Jiaojiao?" Lin asked anxiously, looking around.

San Yue Qi gave no reply; she closed her eyes, using the Command Spell to sense Ying's location—

In the next instant, she snapped open her eyes and yanked Lin aside with a swift pull!

"Boom!"

A golden beam of light descended from the sky, blasting a bowl‑sized crater into the spot where Lin had just stood! Debris splintered, and smoke billowed.

Lin was dragged a few stumbling steps by San Yue Qi, leaning against the wall, watching the still‑smoking crater, her back instantly drenched in cold sweat.

"This is—!"

She looked up toward the roof of the Teaching Building.

There, a golden figure loomed high above, watching them.

Sha Jin.

He still wore that lazy, casual demeanor, one hand in his pocket, the other tossing the golden Weight Person.

Sunlight fell on him, making his splendid attire glitter, and with those sunglasses he looked exactly like a rich young master on vacation.

"Yo."

He waved downwards, his tone light as a greeting, "Nice to see you again, Miss San Yue Qi."

San Yue Qi clenched her teeth, shielding Lin behind her.

"Lin, be careful. That Servant of his, the Weight Person."

Lin nodded, watching the rooftop figure warily.

Sha Jin tilted his head, his gaze landing on Lin: "Is this your Master? Pretty cute, huh."

"But unfortunately, my Master specifically requested you. As for me, I'm just a part‑timer, can't help it."

San Yue Qi said nothing, merely gripping her Ice Bow tightly.

She scanned the surroundings quickly—where was Yan Feng Qili?

Is that crazy priest also here?

Sha Jin seemed to read her thoughts, chuckling as he shook his head, "Don't look any further, Master isn't here. I can handle today's job alone."

He lifted his hand, and the Weight Person spun a circle on his fingertip.

"So, are we planning to have a fight here, or—"

Before the words finished, San Yue Qi grabbed Lin and rushed into the Teaching Building!

"Run!"

—

Bai Hang was sitting in the classroom, staring blankly at the blackboard.

English class.

Fujimura Dahe's "Mighty Tiger" was still energetically brandishing the teaching rod on the podium, completely unaware that a student beneath the podium was drifting far beyond the heavens.

(Why did Ying request leave? Was it because of earlier?)

She was thinking, when Jing Yuan's voice suddenly rang in her mind.

"Master, there is a Magic Reaction."

Bai Hang's eyebrows twitched.

"It's right inside the school." Jing Yuan's voice remained steady, but with a hint of gravity, "Someone has made a move."

Bai Hang was startled for a moment.

In broad daylight, a move inside the school?

She looked out the window— the playground was empty, the Teaching Building was quiet, showing no sign of anything unusual.

But she trusted Jing Yuan's judgment.

Now it's trouble.

If a fight really broke out inside the school, how many would die? How great would the impact be?

Although Bai Hang didn't have much feeling for this world, she wasn't someone who would just stand by.

She took a deep breath and raised her hand.

"Teacher!"

Fujimura Dahe stopped brandishing the teaching rod and looked at her, "Bai Hang, what's the matter?"

"I need to use the restroom."

Fujimura Dahe gave her a glance, waved his hand, "Go, go, be quick to return."

Bai Hang stood up and hurried out of the classroom.

The door shut behind her, and she immediately quickened her steps, asking herself as she walked, "Jing Yuan, which direction?"

"At the far end of the left corridor, over that low wall, the playground beyond."

Bai Hang nodded and ran toward that direction.

San Yue Qi dragged Lin as they sprinted across the campus.

Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground, but those shadows rushed backward beneath their feet, too fast to be seen clearly.

"Hoo... Hoo..."

Lin panted, her steps already growing weak, "San Yue Jie, has the Weight Person caught up yet?"

San Yue Qi glanced back— the rear was empty, and the golden figure was not there for the moment.

But her intuition told her it was only temporary.

"Lin, we can't keep going like this."

San Yue Qi slowed her pace and said quickly, "That guy is coming at me, and his strength is too great; if a fight breaks out inside the school, the whole school will explode."

Lin's complexion changed, "Then what to do?"

San Yue Qi took a deep breath, her mind racing through various possibilities.

Then her eyes lit up.

"Fujimura!"

Lin was startled, "What?"

"Fujimura Lixiang!"

San Yue Qi said, "She is Saber's Master! A servant of Saber's caliber can definitely help!"

Lin blinked, quickly catching on.

Right, Saber!

If we could invite her over, we might not be unable to fight!

"But..."

Lin hesitated, "Would she be willing to help?"

"Trying is better than waiting to die."

San Yue Qi grasped Lin's hand and squeezed firmly, "Lin, go find Fujimura and tell her the situation. I'll lure this Weight Person away first, keeping as far from the school as possible."

Lin's eyes widened, "You alone?! That's too dangerous!"

"I'm a Heroic Spirit; if I can't fight, I can still run."

San Yue Qi grinned, "Besides, I have Time Stop; escaping is top‑notch. Didn't you forget how I pulled you out just now?"

Lin opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but ultimately just nodded.

She knew San Yue Qi was right.

Now isn't the time to argue; we must find a solution quickly.

"Then you be careful..."

Lin bit her lip, "If we really can't win, then… run! Absolutely don't force it!"

"Got it, got it!"

San Yue Qi waved her hand, then grew serious, "You go quickly, go around that way. Stay hidden; Yan Feng that lunatic hasn't appeared yet, maybe he's still hiding somewhere."

Lin nodded, finally gave San Yue Qi a glance, then turned and ran toward the direction of the Teaching Building.

And San Yue Qi took a deep breath, turned around.
