Chapter 518: Weight
Sha Jin was strolling over slowly, the golden weight in his hand still flipping between his fingers, tracing streaks of light in the sunshine.
He tilted his head, a smile on his face that was impossible to read.
"Where's your Master?"
His gaze swept the surroundings, his tone teasing, "Just leaving you like that and running off?"
San Yue Qi took a step back.
"I ask you."
She forced her voice to sound steady, "Why do you know me?"
Sha Jin raised an eyebrow, gave no answer, and kept walking forward.
San Yue Qi stepped back again.
Sha Jin took another step forward.
The two moved in this push‑and‑pull along the campus path.
The scene looked a bit comical—a Fen Mao girl like a rabbit eyed by a wolf, a blond man like a leisurely strolling tourist.
"I don't recall ever meeting you."
San Yue Qi kept retreating, the grass beneath her rustling, "But you seem oddly familiar with me?"
Sha Jin curled his lips, tossing the weight even higher.
"Guess?"
San Yue Qi's mouth twitched.
(Guess, you big‑headed ghost!)
She kept stepping back, nearly reaching the old teaching building area at the campus edge.
Few people come here normally; vines crawl the walls, and several panes of glass are shattered.
"You were quite active back at Pinokanni."
Sha Jin finally spoke, his tone airy, "Running around with that gray‑haired girl everywhere."
San Yue Qi's brows furrowed even tighter.
Pinokanni?
She certainly knew Pinokanni.
The next stop of the Starry Sky Train is there, and Sister Jizi had mentioned some kind of comedy festival over there.
But she hasn't been there yet!
"Who on earth are you?"
Sha Jin tilted his head, "You don't know? Really don't know, or just pretending?"
"If I already knew, why would I ask you!"
Sha Jin smiled, a hint of playfulness in his grin.
"Interesting."
He took another step forward.
San Yue Qi had already backed to the old teaching building entrance, with a dark stairwell behind her.
She glanced, quickly calculating the distance in her mind.
(Almost there...)
"Zawa Rudo—!!!"
Time Stop.
The world froze.
Sha Jin kept his stride, his smile frozen at that instant.
The weight hung mid‑air, its rotating pattern crystal clear.
San Yue Qi inhaled deeply, instantly forming an Ice Bow in her hand.
She didn't hesitate, drawing the bowstring full, and several Ice Arrows shot out simultaneously!
The Ice Arrows traced elegant arcs in the air, surrounding Sha Jin from all sides.
Then San Yue Qi turned, thrusting off the ground toward the wall behind the old teaching building!
She vaulted over the wall, dropped into a narrow alley, then in a couple of moves scaled the adjacent building's exterior like a nimble gecko.
Time Resume!
"Boom!"
The sound of Ice Arrows exploding came from behind.
San Yue Qi flicked a glance over her shoulder—
Those Ice Arrows hadn't hit Sha Jin.
They hovered around him, stopped by a pale gold Sha Ma Barrier barrier.
Frost spread across the barrier, forming a thin icy shell, yet the barrier remained unmoving.
Sha Jin stood behind that layer of frost, his smile deepening.
He lifted his hand and snapped his fingers lightly.
"Crack—"
The barrier shattered, along with the Ice Arrow fragments, turning into countless Ice Shards that drifted down.
In the sunlight, the Ice Shards reflected tiny glimmers.
Sha Jin looked up, gazing at San Yue Qi, who had already climbed to the sixth floor.
"Your ability is truly interesting."
San Yue Qi's heart tightened, and she continued climbing up using both hands and feet.
(An Envoy-level monster!)
She climbed to the roof, stood at the edge and looked down.
Sha Jin was leisurely walking into the alley, raising his head to look at her.
That distance was at least two hundred meters, but his voice came up clearly:
"Why are you running so fast? I don't eat people."
San Yue Qi took a deep breath and pulled the bowstring.
Ice Arrow condensed and shot out breaking the air!
That arrow carried a biting chill, tracing a straight line in the air, heading straight for Sha Jin's face!
Sha Jin raised his hand, and the golden weight flicked lightly—
A weight of the same size appeared out of thin air before him, colliding with the incoming ice arrow!
"Crack!"
The ice arrow shattered, and the weight also dissipated.
But San Yue Qi did not stop.
Second, third, fourth—
Ice arrows poured down like raindrops, each aimed at Sha Jin's vital points!
Sha Jin's wrist turned lightly, and the mother weight flipped between his fingers.
Each turn, a new weight condensed around him, precisely intercepting each ice arrow.
"Crack crack crack—"
The shattered ice shards floated in the air, as if adding a hazy filter to this chase.
San Yue Qi gritted her teeth, changed position, and continued shooting arrows.
Her figure moved along the roof's edge, each step on the edge line; a slight mistake would cause her to fall.
But the agility granted by her Assassin class let her tread this peril as if on flat ground.
Sha Jin stood in place, not moving his feet at all, just leisurely turning the weight in his hand.
"Little girl, aren't you tired from shooting like that?"
San Yue Qi ignored him, and another volley of arrows.
This time she changed strategy to block his possible dodging routes!
Ice arrows flew from all angles, weaving into an airtight net!
Sha Jin's eyebrows finally twitched slightly.
The weight in his hand spun faster.
Golden light flickered around him; those weights condensed faster than before, and in greater numbers!
They formed an airtight barrier around him, blocking all ice arrows outside!
"Interesting." Sha Jin said.
But San Yue Qi had no time to feel pleased.
She suddenly felt a chill, coming from instinct!
Without thinking, she lunged to the side!
"Boom!"
A weight smashed where she had just stood, blasting a big hole in the concrete roof!
Flying debris struck her back, causing pain!
San Yue Qi rolled and stood up, looking around—
She saw it.
Those golden ripples.
They hovered in the surrounding air, some at the roof's edge, some in midair, and some even less than three meters behind her.
In each ripple, a weight could be faintly seen condensing!
"When—!"
Another weight shot out from the ripple!
San Yue Qi sidestepped to dodge; the weight grazed her shoulder and flew past, blasting a big hole in the water tank behind her!
Second, third, fourth—
Those weights shot from all directions, completely blocking her retreat!
San Yue Qi dodged left and right in this barrage, her footwork so fast it was almost impossible to follow.
She flipped over the water tank, jumped over the vent pipe, slid down from one edge, then flipped up from another!
"Thud!"
A weight grazed her hair tips, snapping a few pink strands.
"Boom!"
Another weight smashed where she had just jumped, making the whole roof tremble!
San Yue Qi panted, sweat already beading on her forehead.
(No… if this continues, she'll be worn to death…)
