Chapter 603: Everything Is True

~6 min read 1,144 words

A Xing's eyes have completely turned gold.

That golden light surged from deep within her pupils, illuminating her whole face, the space around her, and those black tubes entwined around her!

The tubes began to melt, began to evaporate, and in that golden light turned into nothingness!

The Invasive Lawgiver's smile froze for an instant.

In the next second, a Flame Gun already lunged at her from the front!

That speed was so fast the tubes couldn't react at all!

"Sss—!"

The Flame Gun pierced the Invasive Lawgiver's shoulder!

Blood gushed out of the wound, splashing across A Xing's face.

But A Xing didn't stop.

She drew the Flame Gun and fired another shot!

This time at the chest!

The Invasive Lawgiver finally reacted, her figure instantly leapt back, and the tubes surged wildly, trying to block the second shot!

But the Flame Gun was too fast!

"Sss!"

The second shot pierced her abdomen!

The Invasive Lawgiver let out a muffled groan, the whole body flew backward, crashing into a pile of ruins!

A Xing stood where she was, holding the blood‑stained Flame Gun, her golden eyes fixed on the ruins.

No expression appeared on her face.

Yet that silence was more terrifying than any roar.

The ruins were quiet for a few seconds.

Then—

"Boom—!!!"

Countless black tubes erupted from the ruins like a tsunami, surging toward A Xing!

A Xing raised her hand, sweeping the Flame Gun; golden flame turned the foremost batch of tubes to ash!

But there were too many tubes, endless, no matter how much she burned they wouldn't finish!

At that moment, a figure slowly rose from the ruins.

The Invasive Lawgiver.

The wounds on her body were healing at a visibly rapid pace; the places pierced by the Flame Gun saw flesh writhing, skin regenerating, and within seconds only a few faint scars remained.

She stood there, the black tubes swirling around her like loyal poisonous snakes, ready to strike any target.

Looking at A Xing, her smile remained, but in those eyes a hint of genuine seriousness appeared.

"Not bad."

She said softly, "Seems I really did underestimate you a bit."

A Xing gave no reply.

She simply gripped the Flame Gun tighter and surged forward again!

This time she was even faster!

She pushed the five‑second Rewind ability to its limit; each attack was the result of countless predictions, each dodge completed a heartbeat in advance!

She darted through the sea of tubes like a golden bolt, so fast the tubes couldn't chase, so fast the attacks couldn't even touch her!

The Flame Gun shot out again!

This time the Invasive Lawgiver didn't dodge, but met it head‑on!

The tubes in front of her intertwined into an airtight wall, firmly blocking the Flame Gun!

Simultaneously, more tubes surged from all directions, trying to trap A Xing inside!

A Xing's face still showed no expression.

She simply—

Disappeared.

The Invasive Lawgiver's pupils narrowed slightly.

In the next second, A Xing appeared behind her!

The Flame Gun swept horizontally, striking her nape!

The Invasive Lawgiver spun sharply, the tubes surged wildly, and at that hair‑trigger moment they caught the Flame Gun!

"Clang—!!!"

The huge clang made ears ache, the shockwave radiated outward, shattering the surrounding ruins into powder!

The two stood locked there, Flame Gun and tubes pressed together, golden flame and violet‑black light intertwining wildly, neither willing to yield an inch.

The Invasive Lawgiver looked at A Xing's face, now within arm's reach, and suddenly smiled.

"Do you know?"

She whispered, her voice so low only A Xing could hear, "Everything I just said is true. Every word, every detail, is true."

A Xing's hand trembled slightly.

The Invasive Lawgiver continued, her voice like a poisonous snake slipping into A Xing's ear:

"Yinglin's last look before death was really like that. Pa Duo's pleading voice was really like that. Mei Bi Wu Si's breakdown was really like that. And Ailixiya—"

She paused, her smile turning even more vicious.

"Her crying was also really like that."

The gold in A Xing's eyes burned even more fiercely.

That golden light was about to ignite, about to devour everything!

"Shut Up (Cocktail Technique)."

She forced those two words from her tightly‑closed lips, her voice hoarse and low.

The Invasive Lawgiver smiled even more joyfully.

"What? Don't want to hear? The more you refuse to listen, the more I want to speak."

Her voice grew softer and more venomous, "Do you know, Ailixiya's cries are actually pleasant to hear. Though they're cries, the sound is still beautiful, but the sorrow within those cries truly tugs at the heart."

She reached out, trying to touch A Xing's face.

A Xing suddenly exerted force, the Flame Gun shattered those tubes, and the whole figure fell backward!

But she did not flee.

She landed on a ruin, lifted her head, and those golden eyes stared fixedly at the Invasive Lawgiver.

Then—

She spoke.

"You are wrong."

The voice was light, yet carried a peculiar firmness.

The Invasive Lawgiver tilted her head, her expression somewhat surprised.

"I'm wrong? Where did I go wrong?"

A Xing stared at her, speaking each word deliberately:

"Ying Jie didn't die because of you."

The Invasive Lawgiver's smile froze for an instant.

A Xing continued, the voice growing clearer:

"They died in order to protect. To protect Ailixiya, to protect each other, to protect the future they wished to create. Not because of your power, not because of your scheme, but because of their own choice."

The Invasive Lawgiver was silent for a few seconds.

Then she smiled.

That smile contained no mockery, only a strange... sentiment.

"Interesting," she said softly, "this is how you see it."

She raised her hand, and those black tubes began to whirl wildly again.

"Then let me see how long that conviction of yours can sustain you!"

Those tubes surged toward A Xing like a tsunami!

At that moment, a voice rang out.

The voice was gentle, yet pierced the deafening roar, pierced the wildly intertwined magic, pierced everything—

It was a song.

"Mend your pace, sway to the beat—"

The singing was ethereal and pure, carrying a comforting power.

The Invasive Lawgiver's movements halted.

Those wildly dancing tubes also stopped.

A Xing landed on the ground, turned, and looked that way.

A figure stood on a nearby ruin.

Blue long hair fluttered gently in the night wind, lake‑green eyes burned with steadfast light, and the flowing robes glimmered softly in the moonlight.

Robin.

She stood there, opened her mouth, and kept singing:

"Hands up! Embrace who you want to be—"

The song grew louder, and the light around her gathered, forming warm beams that surged toward the chaotic battlefield!

Those beams touched the black tubes, and the tubes began to tremble and recoil!

The Invasive Lawgiver's expression finally changed.

"What is this—?!"
