Vol. 6 Ch. 95
Looking at the enraged wolf in front of him, the same creature that had just blasted away half of his body not long ago, Talos couldn’t help but take a step back.
He nervously swallowed.
"Safina, why didn’t you tell me this monster was here?"
"Honestly, I didn’t expect to encounter it here either," Safina replied. "But according to the plan we discussed, I can only provide you with the spatial coordinates when the Fire Spirit Leopard bites into your body, allowing you to complete the anchoring. This situation here was completely outside the plan."
Talos gritted his teeth, trying to calm his emotions.
"I don’t care anymore. The essence core is in hand, we retreat!"
With that, without another word, Talos turned and opened a spatial tear to teleport away.
On the other side of the tear was the eerie and vast Void Realm.
However, just as Talos had half of his foot through the tear, he suddenly felt his collar grabbed firmly from behind.
By the time Safina reacted, all she saw was the faint trail of white energy left in the air after Leon’s rapid assault.
In that moment, Safina didn’t even see how Leon had reached them.
"I told you, give me your life, and leave it in Samael."
The whisper, as if from the Grim Reaper, sounded from behind Talos.
His body trembled with fear, and he dared not look back.
With all his strength, he tried to move toward the other side of the tear.
But in the next second, a powerful pulling force nearly snapped his throat.
The suffocating sensation made him dizzy, his vision blacking out.
Then came a violent spinning sensation.
Leon forcefully yanked Talos back, who had almost entirely stepped into the Void Realm.
Talos collapsed awkwardly onto the ground, the scythe and Fire Spirit Crystal Core falling from his hands.
Just as he was about to rise, Leon stepped heavily on the half-healed arm Talos had just recovered.
"Ugh!!—"
The pain of broken bones surged through his mind, and Talos let out a painful scream.
Leon looked down at him from above, his eyes filled with anger and murderous intent, the kind that comes from fear of this giant.
"Leon… I… We were just trying to rebuild our world, we had no choice!!"
Talos gritted his teeth, enduring the intense pain as he explained,
"All of this was planned by Atos. He is the ruler of the Void, everything is his plan!!"
"We truly had no choice, we had no choice—ah!!"
Before Talos could finish, Leon crushed his right arm completely.
The severed limb wasn’t made of flesh and bone, but a mass of wriggling insects. It was these insects that had reconstructed part of his body.
It seemed to be a unique technique of the Void tribe.
"No choice? Had no choice?"
Leon continued to crush the insects under his foot,
"The Void spirits had no choice?"
As he spoke, Leon slowly raised his hand.
At the same time, the recently vanished Cecilia appeared in the arena,
Holding Leon’s Thundercloud Sword in her arms.
Seeing Leon raise his hand, Cecilia tossed the Thundercloud Sword, and it landed perfectly in Leon’s grasp.
"Smashing my wife with an iceberg was also ‘no choice’?"
Leon drew the Thundercloud Sword, its blade glowing with a chilling, murderous light.
"Uncaringly killing so many divine stallion guards and severely wounding the Fire Spirit Divine Stallion was also ‘no choice’?!"
He gripped the hilt of the sword and raised it high, the tip pointing directly at Talos's forehead.
Seeing that Leon had made up his mind to kill, Talos stopped his false pleading.
He dropped his earlier desperate tone, replacing it with a more arrogant one.
"Kill! What does it matter!!"
"All of you Samael people should die!"
"Your wives too! The master will make sure to kill all of you!!"
"Heh… hahahaha—"
Talos laughed maniacally, his smile twisted and sick.
The anger in Leon’s eyes faded, replaced by cold rage.
The sword flashed, and blood sprayed.
Talos’s laughter abruptly stopped.
He pressed his hand tightly to his throat, but blood still poured from between his fingers.
Leon didn’t immediately end his life. Instead, he slashed at his windpipe.
Talos stared at Leon, his eyes reddened and wide with fury.
He knew Leon could have ended his life with a single strike, but he hadn’t.
The only reason was… Leon didn’t want him to die so quickly.
"Now, I can finally shut that foul mouth of yours."
"Let me guess, you thought I’d strike you fatally, and let you die quickly."
"And now, you probably think I want to enjoy watching you slowly bleed to death."
"Beast, I won’t let you have it your way, not even in your last moments."
With those words, Leon sheathed his sword and raised his right hand high.
In an instant, dark clouds gathered above the arena, thunder roaring.
"Last time, this move only shattered half of your body. So, guess what? This time, will you even have a full corpse left?"
Blood clogged Talos’s throat, and he couldn’t make a sound anymore,
Only his twisted, crazy expression showing his hatred and unwillingness toward Leon.
"Boom!"
Super S-Class Lightning Magic · Dragon Annihilation.
The massive power of the lightning reverberated throughout the vast combat arena.
Even Safina, who was closest to the site, had to adopt a defensive stance to withstand the aftershocks of Dragon Annihilation.
As the light gradually faded and the dust settled, Safina looked at the spot where the attack had originated.
Only Leon remained.
And under his feet, not a single bone was left.
In Safina's astonished gaze, Leon slowly walked to the side, bent down to pick up the Fire Spirit Crystal Core from the ground, and then handed it to Cecilia, who had arrived.
He then turned around, his cold eyes staring at Safina.
Safina's entire body shuddered, but she quickly regained her composure, immediately activating the Mirror Abyss to synchronize with the shadow behind her.
"Just like I said before, Safina, I won’t show any mercy to you," Leon said."But I won’t kill you like I did that noisy beast earlier. I have a few questions I want answers to from you."
Safina narrowed her eyes slightly."What do you want to ask?"
"What is your relationship with Shadow?"
Leon stared at her,"If I remember correctly, you’ve been asking me about Shadow these past few days. If he wasn’t related to you, you wouldn’t be so interested."
Leon stopped about ten meters away from Safina and sheathed his Thundercloud Blade.
Seeing this, Safina also dispelled the Mirror Abyss and slowly straightened up, staring directly at Leon.
"He is like me, we both come from the Void Realm."
"We both serve the ruler of the Void—Atos."
"Ten thousand years ago, [N O V E L I G H T] the Chaos Earth was born, which caught Atos's attention. He wanted to erase the Void Realm, this barren and desolate land, and invade Samael."
"But creating such a large-scale conflict is not easy, especially with so many primal gods guarding Samael."
"Thus, Atos released 'Chaos' onto the Samael continent, attempting to use 'Chaos' to erode the gods of this land, and Shadow was the one tasked with overseeing 'Chaos.'"
Leon furrowed his brow slightly,"Overseeing 'Chaos'? I always thought 'Chaos' only contained the power of devouring and ultimate fear."
Safina shook her head,"At the beginning, things did indeed develop according to Atos's plan."
"'Chaos' eroded the Dragon God Tiamat, forcing Him to separate His dark side along with the Chaos from His body."
"And all of this was discovered by Shadow, who had been secretly monitoring the Samael continent."
"The power of Chaos contained half of the Dragon God’s strength, while the other half became Noah."
"If these two could be reunited, it would allow one to usurp Tiamat's great power and become the new Dragon God."
"And it was upon realizing this that Shadow betrayed the Void, betrayed Atos."
"For these ten thousand years, he has been plotting to become the new Dragon God."
"But in the end, he really succeeded. He tried to suppress the Void Gate with his divine power, so that Atos could never come and clean up after him, the traitor."
"And Shadow, on the other hand, said, 'You sacrifice Samael and become the ruler of this continent,' when the Void stopped eroding, would have preferred to serve Atos in the Void in a more carefree manner."
Upon hearing this, Leon finally understood what Shadow's last words meant before his death.
"The last god has fallen, and the ruler of another world is about to come."
He softly repeated, "Shadow was afraid that Atos would come and clean up his mess, so he desperately wanted to become the new Dragon God. Because only by doing so could the Void Gate stop being suppressed by the primal gods' power."
"Exactly. But in the end, you shattered the ambitions of this schemer and helped us clean up the traitor in the Void Realm."
Safina slowly exhaled, "Any other questions?"
"Yes. This time, your attack is different from the last one. Last time, there were only Carl and Talos, but this time, you sent more Void warriors. This means the seal between the Void has loosened again, right?"
"Yes."
"So, aside from you and Talos, Carl, whom I met last time, and... that so-called strongest Void warrior, Kaiser, has also come here?"
Safina nodded.
"But their goal isn't the Fire Spirit Crystal Core, it's... the Key of Time."
