Chapter 1071: This Job, I'm Not Taking
Xu Damao was the first to jump out and shout: "Zhuzi, I think going through Thailand is the most suitable! We can even go sightseeing on the way; I've long wanted to see those ladyboy performances."
Dajinya immediately chimed in, his eyes lighting up: "Yes, yes, yes! I've heard that the go-go bars, KTVs, and Thai massages over there are all fantastic. And watching a ladyboy pole dance—that's what you call ultimate earthly bliss!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Pangzi scolded them right in the face: "Look at the two of you and your lack of ambition! You're already fifty or sixty years old, and you're still thinking about these frivolous things?"
Xu Damao bristled on the spot: "Wang Pangzi, stop acting so high and mighty here! Back when you were chasing Lingzi, you were like a pug, licking her boots so eagerly—have you forgotten that?"
Wang Pangzi stiffened his neck: "Is that the same thing? I was looking for a wife to settle down with. You two are purely looking for pleasure—you're old and indecent!"
Xu Damao said: "That's also part of traveling. Haven't you heard? Many old men from Europe and America, after they retire and get divorced, run straight to Thailand to find a young girl..."
Hu Bayi, who had been silent all this time, spoke in a deep voice: "Alright, alright, stop spouting this useless nonsense. We can barely save our own lives, and you're still thinking about this. Let's listen to Master He and have him tell us which route to take."
He Yuzhu spoke slowly: "If we go through Thailand, that place is infiltrated by M Country spies like a sieve; trouble will definitely be endless. If we detour through Singapore, we'll have to face the M Country fleet head-on. They are currently fighting a major battle in Afghanistan, and their Carrier Strike Group is in those waters."
Xu Damao hurriedly interjected: "Then Thailand is still better!"
He Yuzhu shook his head: "At sea, we only have one opponent: the M Country fleet. But once we reach Thailand, the Myanmar Government Army and the CIA will all be out for our lives."
Hu Bayi's gaze sharpened: "Master He, do you mean we should take the sea route?"
He Yuzhu nodded: "If Damao and Jin Ya want to go and broaden their horizons, we can also split up."
Upon hearing this, Xu Damao's face turned pale in an instant, and he waved his hands frantically: "No, no, no! Zhuzi, you can't abandon us! The two of us have no strength to truss a chicken; going out alone is just serving ourselves up on a platter. I'm sticking with you no matter what!"
He Yuzhu chuckled: "Fine, then we'll head toward Malacca overnight."
Hu Bayi examined the Fishing Boat's cockpit: "Master He, is this boat easy to control? It's too exhausting for you to watch it alone. Why don't you teach us, and we can take shifts?"
He Yuzhu patted the steering wheel: "I just tested it; this is a 'dummy-proof' boat. Just input the route, turn on the automatic mode, and it runs very steadily."
Hu Bayi immediately made the decision: "Then it's settled. We'll take four-hour shifts each; if there's a situation, we'll call you. You hurry up and get some shut-eye."
He Yuzhu did not decline. His fingers tapped rapidly on the computer keyboard, precisely setting the route and locking the steering wheel into automatic mode.
The Fishing Boat broke through the heavy night, charging steadily into the pitch-black sea, its speed faster than everyone had expected.
Dajinya and Xu Damao were as excited as two children, clinging to the ship's rail and looking around.
Dajinya pulled on He Yuzhu and asked: "Master He, don't sleep yet! What are all these buttons for?"
He Yuzhu took a few glances, pretended to scratch his head, and said with a bit of confusion: "I haven't experimented with them either. Shall we give it a try?"
He casually pressed a red button on the side rail.
"Whoosh—!"
A streak of fire tore through the night sky, and a Rocket whistled out, trailing a tail of flame. With a "boom," it exploded into a large spray of water on the sea not far away.
The entire Fishing Boat shuddered violently, as if it were a beast startled from its sleep.
Xu Damao's legs went weak, and he nearly collapsed onto the floor.
Dajinya kept his mouth agape, and it took him a long time to squeeze out two words: "Holy crap, this thing can actually fire Rockets!"
He Yuzhu casually pressed two other launch buttons.
"Whoosh—whoosh—!"
Two Rockets shot out from the bow and stern respectively, exploding into two huge water spouts on the distant sea. Waves splashed everywhere, and the Fishing Boat swayed several more times.
Hu Bayi quickly reached out to stop him: "Master He, don't test it anymore! If we keep firing like this, we'll run out of ammunition."
"Fine!" He Yuzhu agreed, but he knew exactly what he was doing. The ammunition of this type in his space was piled up like a small mountain; firing a few hundred rounds wouldn't be a problem at all. However, he didn't explain further, just waved his hand: "It's fine, I reckon we won't have many opportunities to actually use these things."
Wang Pangzi smacked his lips on the side: "That may be so, but this thing is only good for dealing with small boats. If we really run into a large Warship, it's still useless."
He Yuzhu nodded, said nothing more, turned, and crawled into the narrow bunk in the corner of the cockpit. He closed his eyes and fell asleep almost instantly.
I don't know how much time had passed when his shoulder was suddenly patted heavily.
"Master He! Wake up!" Hu Bayi lowered his voice: "There is a patrol boat behind us, it has locked onto us."
He Yuzhu sat up abruptly, wiped his face, and looked toward the rear with high-powered Telescope.
On the pitch-black sea, there was indeed a faint light, following them closely.
His brows furrowed tightly: "How long has it been following?"
Hu Bayi's expression was grave: "It appeared less than half an hour after you fell asleep; it has been following us for two and a half hours."
He Yuzhu's eyes sharpened. Without a word, his hand went straight to the weapon control console.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's just sink it."
Wang Pangzi was so scared he shivered all over: "Master He, the other side hasn't even distinguished friend from foe yet; isn't it a bit bad to do this?"
He Yuzhu didn't even turn his head: "They are definitely enemies. Once they report our coordinates and an M Country missile comes over, we won't even have scraps left."
As he spoke, his fingertips moved, and the boat's targeting system instantly locked onto that patrol boat.
He didn't hesitate in the slightest, pressing his thumb down hard.
"Whoosh—!"
The Rocket, trailing a long tail of flame, drew a glaring arc of light across the sea and smashed precisely into the center of the patrol boat's hull.
"Boom—!"
Fire erupted, and fragments of sheet metal flew in all directions.
That boat was quite sturdy; it was burning with a raging fire but did not sink, still struggling awkwardly on the sea.
He Yuzhu's expression darkened, and he pressed the launch key three times in a row.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Three Rockets struck one after another. The patrol boat finally couldn't withstand the violent impact; its hull tilted completely and flipped over on the sea in an instant. A few seconds later, only a circle of bubbling oil and wreckage remained on the surface.
Wang Pangzi looked at the wreckage on the sea and swallowed his saliva: "Master He, this Fishing Boat of ours is really not simple. Which genius designed it?"
He Yuzhu sneered: "Don't look at some small countries as having small territories; all their wealth is held in the hands of a few major families. These people are filthy rich, and they have all sorts of strange equipment—there's nothing you can't imagine, and nothing they can't build."
At the very moment He Yuzhu's few Rockets blew the patrol boat into pieces, in a small building far away in Yangon, Gerald Carter, the director of the CIA Myanmar Intelligence Station, was shouting while slamming his desk hard.
"Bastard! You can even lose track of a few people after being told to watch them—what the hell are you doing!"
On the other end of the phone, Mao Ai, the Deputy Bureau Chief of the Myanmar Intelligence Bureau, wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and hurriedly defended himself: "Section Chief, it's not that I'm incompetent. There was a sudden explosion at Yangon Port, and I had to pull a large number of men to deal with it. The General's attitude is very clear: we are not allowed to provoke Shadow, I really..."
"Shut up!" Carter interrupted sharply, his teeth grinding with a clatter. "Listen well, deploy men to the Thai-Myanmar border immediately. They have two likely escape routes: either landing on the coast of Thailand or breaking through the Malacca Strait. You don't need to worry about Malacca, but you must seal the Thai-Myanmar border tight for me!"
Mao Ai looked helpless: "Section Chief, I can only handle this privately; I cannot use public resources. The General's eyes and ears are everywhere; once discovered..."
"I'll give you the money, find the men yourself!" Carter said. "There are assassin organizations all over Southeast Asia; as long as you're willing to pay, you won't have trouble finding people to risk their lives."
Mao Ai immediately replied: "Understood, I will go arrange it right away."
Hanging up the phone, Carter took a deep breath and dialed another number, calling the CIA Thailand Intelligence Division.
His tone softened instantly: "Section Chief Martin, there are five people, the leader's codename is Shadow. No need to capture them, just help me check if they have entered Thailand."
"Alright, alright, alright, I will definitely investigate thoroughly," Martin hung up the phone, then slammed his hand hard on the desk and cursed loudly: "Carter, do you think you're the President? We are of equal rank, why should I take orders from you? Besides, everyone who has ever gone against Shadow has, has fucking never survived... I'm not taking this job!"
