Chapter 372: Stealing the Beam and Replacing the Pillar
Major Luobinxun's unit had not yet reached the top of the Cave when they ran head-on into a field of Landmine.
After a series of Explosive, over a dozen soldiers were either dead or wounded.
Luobinxun's heart sank, and he finally realized the risk far exceeded his estimates.
He beckoned a soldier over and ordered in a low voice, "You sneak up there, and as soon as you fire the signal flare, retreat immediately!"
"Yes, sir!" The soldier took the signal gun and crept toward the front line, hunched over.
He Yuzhu saw the British Army suddenly retreating and knew they were about to call for artillery, so he stayed behind a large rock, waiting for someone to come.
When the signalman snuck over, He Yuzhu knocked him unconscious and snapped his neck.
He picked up the signal gun and silently circled around to near Luobinxun.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three signal flares rose into the air one after another, blooming with blinding light above Luobinxun's head.
Luobinxun was stunned to see the signal flares rising right beside him and shouted, "Retreat quickly!"
Before his voice had faded, the whistling of artillery shells had already torn through the air.
Boom—!
Artillery shells fell in succession, exploding into balls of fire all around Luobinxun.
After one round of shelling, few British Army soldiers were still standing. Major Luobinxun was lucky, but his left leg was wounded by shrapnel; the two guards beside him were not so fortunate, their bodies blown to pieces.
"Is anyone still alive? Answer me!" Luobinxun shouted through the thick smoke.
"Yes, Sir!" The voice that answered was He Yuzhu, who had just emerged from his space.
"Who are you?" Major Luobinxun did not seem to have seen this black soldier before.
"I am Mike'a'se!" He Yuzhu stared and spouted nonsense.
"You..."
Before Major Luobinxun could finish his sentence, He Yuzhu stepped forward, knocked him out with a palm strike, and stored him in his space.
He Yuzhu had his reasons for not killing him: even if they sailed out, he didn't know what might happen on the way, and if they ran into enemies, he could use him as a bargaining chip.
While quickly clearing the battlefield, he shot the wounded who were still breathing one by one, ending their suffering and letting them go see God early.
He Yuzhu calculated: now was the best time to evacuate the island. Once the British Army realized the heavy losses, they would surely send more Warship for support.
He quickly returned to the Cave to report.
After listening, Liu Rusi pondered for a moment and decisively ordered a retreat.
The group of twenty people hurried toward the hiding spot of the Fishing Boat.
Along the way, they encountered multiple interceptions by gang members and the Royal Marines of the United Kingdom; He Yuzhu had no time to distinguish friend from foe, shooting anyone who blocked the path.
After a fierce battle along the way and eliminating over twenty people, the team finally broke through the encirclement and reached the edge of the cliff where the boat was hidden.
However, a huge problem lay before them—on the sea not far away, that enemy Warship was patrolling back and forth like a ghost.
He Yuzhu raised his hand to stop the team, approached Liu Rusi, and whispered, "As soon as our boat moves, we'll be discovered. Once their cannons fire, our boat is finished!"
Liu Rusi observed for a long time with a Telescope, her brows locked tight: "How about we abandon this boat and go to the beach to seize one? There shouldn't be a shortage of boats there!"
He Yuzhu shook his head: "There are more enemies there, the risk is too high. I do have a plan—I'll take a Kayak to sneak onto the Warship and clear out the people on board."
"No! That's too dangerous!" Liu Rusi grabbed his hand.
"For me, going to the beach to seize a boat is more dangerous," He Yuzhu analyzed calmly. "There shouldn't be more than twenty personnel left on the Warship; as long as I can get on board, dealing with them will be a piece of cake!"
Liu Rusi was silent for a moment, looked him straight in the eye, and asked, "But how will you get on the Warship?"
"I've already thought of a way, trust me!" He Yuzhu's tone was firm.
Liu Rusi gritted her teeth: "Fine, you, you must be careful... I don't want the child to lose their father before they are even born!"
He Yuzhu chuckled: "Don't worry, the person who can take my life hasn't been born yet."
Liu Rusi smiled and gently stroked her lower abdomen, nodding, though tears slid down silently.
He Yuzhu descended to the sea along a Rope and boarded the Kayak to row toward the Warship. Halfway there, he released Major Luobinxun from his space.
The Major woke up, and the moment he saw He Yuzhu, he tried to shout, but his neck was gripped tight.
"Major, let's make a deal. I'm just a small fry in the gang. I'll send you back to the Warship, and you guarantee you won't kill me."
Luobinxun had never dreamed such a good thing could happen in this world; he immediately agreed: "You saved me, I will not only let you go, but I will also reward you handsomely!"
"I don't believe a word of it!" He Yuzhu thought to himself, "But I'm using you too!"
He took medicine from his backpack and applied it to Luobinxun's wounds, bandaging them with a sycophantic air, which made Luobinxun doubt his identity even less.
After the bandaging was finished, He Yuzhu rowed toward the Warship with all his might.
More than twenty minutes later, the Kayak finally approached the Warship, but they were spotted by people on the deck, who began firing near the Kayak.
Luobinxun shouted weakly: "Lieutenant Charlie! It's Major Luobinxun, I'm wounded, lower the basket quickly!"
Lieutenant Charlie raised his Telescope, saw one black and one white person, and after careful identification, finally recognized Luobinxun; he hurriedly ordered his men to lower the basket.
As soon as He Yuzhu stepped onto the deck, he used his Dagger to take out the five people beside him like a leopard.
Only then did Luobinxun realize he had been tricked; just as he was about to shout, He Yuzhu kicked him into the sea.
Just as he had expected, the combat personnel on the Warship had all gone ashore to fight, leaving only twenty or so maintenance personnel and artillerymen.
He cleared them out one by one, finishing everyone off within half an hour.
Entering the ammunition depot, it was filled with artillery shells and Torpedo, but not the supplies he needed.
He took High Explosive from his space, installed a remote detonation device in the depot, then lowered a lifeboat, rowed quickly back to the modified boat, and climbed up the cliff along the Rope.
As soon as Liu Rusi saw him, she threw herself into his arms: "You scared me to death!"
"I told you it would be fine," He Yuzhu patted her back gently, "Let everyone get on the boat."
Liu Rusi wiped away her tears and directed everyone to board.
The motor roared to life, and the Fishing Boat quickly left the shore.
After sailing out about three hundred meters, He Yuzhu leaned his ear toward Liu Rusi and said, "I'm going to treat you to a fireworks show!"
Liu Rusi glared at him: "What fireworks! Just drive the boat properly for me."
He Yuzhu handed a small Remote Control to her and said, "Help me press this hard!"
Not knowing what to make of it, Liu Rusi pressed the Remote Control hard.
"Boom—!" A deafening explosion rang out.
After the High-explosive Explosives inside the gunboat detonated, the torpedoes and shells in the ammunition depot exploded in succession, the soaring flames lighting up the sea surface like broad daylight.
Liu Rusi punched him and whispered, "You bastard! You've made a huge mess of this! The Hong Kong British Government will never let this go."
He Yuzhu looked calm: "You were the one who detonated it, not me, right?"
Liu Rusi was so angry she pinched his arm hard.
After seeing the gunboat detonated, Martin shouted: "Barkley, we have avenged you!"
The Fishing Boat sped forward, and just when everyone thought they were out of danger, four patrol boats suddenly chased after them from the side of a small island.
These people were likely responsible for chasing the Fishing Boats fleeing from Henglan Island. They mistook He Yuzhu and his group for gang members.
Those patrol boats fired at them while giving chase.
