Chapter 826: Night Raid on the Enemy Camp
Ivan drove the truck, facing the armed checkpoint personnel, his body unable to stop trembling.
His younger sister beside him whispered a reminder: "Brother, you are wearing the same clothes as them, there is no need to be afraid."
Only then did Ivan grit his teeth and mutter to himself: "I am not afraid... I am here to kill them, I cannot be afraid."
The truck slowly drove toward the checkpoint.
In the back of the truck, He Yuzhu had already set up a machine gun, the muzzle aimed dead at the several armed guards in front.
When they were only thirty-some meters away from the checkpoint, He Yuzhu pulled the trigger directly.
"Da-da-da—"
The crisp sound of gunfire suddenly shattered the silence.
The heads of the few people standing at the very front instantly exploded like rotten watermelons.
Ivan seemed to go mad in an instant, slamming the accelerator to the floor.
The machine gun in He Yuzhu's hands did not stop firing, spraying wildly at the guards around the checkpoint.
The people in the front row fell one after another, while those behind scrambled to lie on the ground.
The truck had already charged right up to the checkpoint.
He Yuzhu casually put down the machine gun, flipped his wrists nimbly, and two old-fashioned Box Cannons appeared in his hands.
He leaned over and fired accurately at the people lying on the ground.
After a round of strafing, there were few survivors left among the fifteen guards.
The truck sped away, instantly darting thirty or forty meters out.
Someone behind struggled to get up and fired back in the direction of the truck.
He Yuzhu picked up the machine gun again, turned back to spray fire, and in the blink of an eye, took down several more people.
Just like that, they passed through this checkpoint without any danger.
Ivan shouted loudly: "Uncle He, thank you! Killing them can be considered avenging our family!"
He Yuzhu drove the siblings for a hundred kilometers, finding a secluded mountain forest before stopping.
He took various foods out of his backpack: Tianfu Hao braised pork knuckles, Daoxiangcun garlic sausage, Russian red sausage...
If it weren't for He Yuzhu stopping her, Sofia might have really eaten until her stomach burst.
Sofia spoke in not-so-fluent English: "Uncle He, why do you always have so much good food?"
Ivan explained from the side: "Uncle He's father was a chef; I heard that Uncle He has known how to make a lot of delicious food since he was a child..."
He explained for a long time, but Sofia still only half-understood.
It had to be said that the physique of Westerners is truly resilient. Sofia had not been able to eat properly for a long time, but now, after eating several full meals in a row, her complexion quickly recovered.
She wiped the oil from the corner of her mouth and said earnestly: "Uncle He, can you teach me how to shoot? I also want to kill my enemies."
"Don't call me Uncle He, you must call me Uncle He; 'Uncle' is the English word for uncle," He Yuzhu corrected with a smile.
Sofia nodded, looking slightly shy: "I understand, Uncle He."
Afterward, He Yuzhu began to teach Sofia the techniques for dismantling an AK47 and aiming.
Sofia learned with extreme seriousness and was naturally very gifted; in no time, she had completely mastered the essentials.
At this moment, Ivan asked: "Uncle He, what do we plan to do next?"
He Yuzhu said with a cold expression: "NATO is the culprit; this war was entirely instigated by them. It is only right that we kill these evil people. The next step is to strike directly at their lair and root these people out completely."
Only then did Ivan understand that what Uncle He wanted to do was not just kill a few enemies, but to wipe out the majority of this armed force.
A sense of identification immediately arose in his heart, and he was filled with fighting spirit.
Sofia was equally in agreement, her eyes filled with hatred.
Afterward, He Yuzhu settled the siblings in a hidden spot in the mountain forest, leaving them with sufficient food supplies. He went down the mountain alone to scout around and even captured several extremists who were setting up checkpoints and running rampant.
From the mouths of these people, he finally found out about the secret camp of the extremists.
The camp was located in the Butmir Valley in the southern suburbs of Sarajevo.
He Yuzhu even went to scout the location himself; it was backed by mountains and faced a river, the entrance to the valley was very narrow, and there was only one dirt road for access, making the location extremely hidden.
This was precisely the extremist Training Camp secretly supported by NATO, with over three thousand people stationed in the camp area. The personnel were a mixed bag, including both extremists from various European countries and radical nationalists native to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The culprits who massacred Sofia's family were mostly entrenched here.
After scouting the terrain and defenses, He Yuzhu led the Ivan siblings to sneak into the valley, hiding in the mountain forest.
He pointed to the camp below and said in a deep voice: "These people are the extremists who slaughtered your kin."
Ivan looked at the massive Military Camp, his face full of worry: "Uncle He, there are at least three thousand people here; with just the three of us, how can we deal with them?"
He Yuzhu smiled faintly: "Does that kid He Zheng always brag to you about how capable I am?"
Ivan was hit where it hurt, smiled awkwardly, and did not answer.
He Yuzhu continued: "If it weren't for the fact that you have a blood feud with this group, I wouldn't reveal my true methods. To tell you the truth, I could bury these three thousand people here in a single night."
Although Sofia found it somewhat hard to believe, she still gritted her teeth and said firmly: "Uncle He, I also want to kill the enemies with my own hands."
He Yuzhu nodded: "I will give you the chance to take revenge, but you must wait until I blow up their ammunition depot before you can act."
Ivan's spirits were instantly lifted: "Uncle He, what exactly do we need to do?"
"Once I blow up the ammunition depot, the Military Camp will surely fall into chaos, and these people will definitely try to flee along the only dirt road. At that time, we will each take a machine gun and ambush them on the spot, letting you vent your anger."
Sofia pursed her lips tightly, hatred surging in the depths of her eyes: "Uncle He, I must kill these enemies with my own hands."
He Yuzhu warned with a serious expression: "But you must wait until I am present before you can fire. Firing rashly will only expose your position, and the snipers in the camp will be able to lock onto and kill you instantly."
Ivan took note of this earnestly and nodded heavily: "Uncle He, we will listen to your arrangements."
At midnight, He Yuzhu slipped into the Training Camp alone.
He could see that these people had loose discipline and extremely poor security awareness; even the patrolling soldiers were lazy and perfunctory.
From many of the barracks, the shrill cries of women could be heard. Most of these women had been abducted by them.
He Yuzhu was wearing the same style of clothing as the others, and with almost no effort at all, he deceived the sentries, successfully snuck into the Military Camp, and planted a large number of Landmines on the path that was the only way out of the barracks.
There was no heavy equipment in the armory, mostly Mortars, and a small number of armored off-road vehicles.
He Yuzhu placed a large amount of High-explosive Explosives in the ammunition depot and various parts of the Military Camp, setting the synchronized detonation time for two o'clock in the morning.
With everything properly arranged, he withdrew from the Military Camp without a sound and returned to the mountain.
By this time, the brother and sister were already shivering all over from the cold.
He Yuzhu took warm clothing and sleeping bags out of his backpack and handed them over: "You two take a nap for a while; when it hits two o'clock in the morning, we will ambush the fleeing enemies right here."
Time slipped away quietly, slowly approaching two o'clock in the morning.
He Yuzhu firmly mounted two Machine Guns on the high ground of the hillside, their pitch-black muzzles locked tightly onto the only access road to the camp. He looked down at his watch; there were twenty seconds left.
He reached out and nudged the brother and sister, who were fast asleep in their sleeping bags, and whispered, "Get ready to move."
The two opened their eyes in a daze, not yet fully recovered—
Boom! Boom-boom-boom-boom—
A series of earth-shattering explosions suddenly erupted, echoing throughout the entire valley.
The sound of the explosions reverberated repeatedly against the mountain walls, shaking the earth itself, and countless rocks from the mountainside came tumbling down with a rustling sound.
Ivan was completely stunned.
He never imagined that He Yuzhu would have such heaven-defying means, which were simply like destroying the heavens and extinguishing the earth.
Previously, he and his sister had secretly discussed it, feeling that although Uncle He was righteous, he was a bit of a braggart, and they had never dared to believe his claim that he could handle three or four thousand people all by himself.
But at this moment, flames soared into the sky, screams and wails rose one after another in the camp, and under the night sky illuminated red by the fire, countless black shadows fled in panic in every direction.
The brother and sister finally realized completely: Uncle He was never bragging; he truly possessed heaven-reaching abilities.
