Chapter 827: He Yuzhu Encounters Snipers

~9 min read 1,666 words

Finally, someone in the camp was desperate enough to charge out.

He Yuzhu's finger was the first to pull the trigger. The Machine Gun roared instantly—"Da-da-da-da-da-da-da—" Tongues of fire spat from the muzzle, bullets swept across like a rainstorm, and the extremists fell in rows, corpses piling upon corpses.

Ivan watched the murderers who had killed his parents and sister, his eye sockets instantly burning red. He gritted his teeth and pulled the trigger fiercely.

"Da-da-da..."

The sound of gunfire rang out; his muzzle kept jumping upward, and the bullets hit high and low. But he refused to let go even in death.

Sofia's eyes also turned red.

She pressed the AK47 firmly into her shoulder pocket, raised it, and fired.

After firing only a few rounds, her frail body was knocked askew by the recoil, and her shoulder was shaken numb.

Yet she bit her lip and stubbornly kept firing.

Both siblings were blinded by bloodlust, the hatred they had suppressed for years surging out like a burst levee.

He Yuzhu's marksmanship was terrifyingly accurate; almost every bullet claimed a life.

A tiny few desperate men who managed to reach the foot of the mountain didn't even have time to catch their breath before he casually tossed a Hand Grenade—"Boom!" After the deafening blast, everything returned to silence.

Half an hour later, basically no one in the camp dared to charge out anymore.

He Yuzhu decisively gave the order: "Retreat!"

The three of them ran down the mountain quickly, dove into the military vehicle, started the engine, and raced away from the mountain.

They hadn't driven far when He Yuzhu's ears twitched—the roar of a helicopter came from overhead.

He braked immediately and killed the headlights.

Jumping out of the car to look, three Black Hawk Helicopters were circling toward the scene of the incident.

He Yuzhu's sniper rifle remained aimed at the helicopters; he only refrained from firing when he saw that the people on board had not discovered them.

Once the roaring faded away, He Yuzhu put away his Pistol, restarted the car, and continued on their way.

In the car, Ivan's voice trembled with excitement: "Uncle He, today was truly satisfying! I finally avenged my mom, dad, and sister! Thank you, thank you!"

He Yuzhu said indifferently: "Don't mention it, these countries are enemies of mine too. But what are your plans now?"

Ivan said: "I want to take my sister back to China, but... we don't have citizenship, what should we do?"

He Yuzhu was silent for a moment: "How about this, I'll take you to Serbia first and find a safe place to settle you down. I have some business of my own to attend to. In a month, I'll take you to Hong Kong and get your sister's identity sorted out."

Ivan sensed something and asked cautiously: "Uncle He, are you... still going to go after those people?"

He Yuzhu smiled, a chill hidden within that smile: "I just feel that leaving like this is letting them off too easily."

"Then I'll go with you!" Ivan didn't hesitate at all.

Sofia followed closely: "I'm not afraid either. Like today, it was very satisfying."

He Yuzhu thought about it; the siblings could indeed help—they knew the local language and could disguise themselves as locals.

He nodded: "That's fine, but following me is dangerous at any time. Are you really not afraid?"

Ivan said through gritted teeth: "Uncle He, I hate those people to the core, and I haven't killed enough yet."

He Yuzhu smiled, stepped on the gas, and the car drove into the night.

They found an inn in a small town to stay at.

He Yuzhu gave the innkeeper money to help find some local clothing; after changing, they became one among the masses.

Early the next morning, they set off, and He Yuzhu released a pickup truck from his space.

He had Ivan drive while he sat in the truck bed, which was filled with weapons; whoever stopped him would be meeting their death day.

Ivan smiled and said: "Uncle He, I feel like we're becoming a bit like those people."

He Yuzhu nodded and said: "Drive well, with me here, there's nothing to fear."

"Got it!" Ivan got into the car happily.

He Yuzhu's next target was the Vitez Military Base, a large NATO base stationed in Bosnia and Herzegovina—it housed a full 15,000 troops.

The three drove for a day, killing over a dozen extremists along the way, before stopping at dusk five kilometers from the base.

Before long, He Yuzhu caught a group of soldiers who had gone out, cleanly snapped their necks, and stripped off their uniforms.

The three changed into the military uniforms and hijacked a military vehicle.

He Yuzhu applied makeup to himself; standing among the locals, there was no difference to be seen.

They drove the car, swaggering through the entire camp, and surprisingly, no one stopped them.

This Vitez Military Base was massive, built against the mountains and by the water, firmly controlling the traffic artery of central Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The entire camp area was clearly divided into four main sectors:

The main camp to the north likely housed the NATO command center, equipped with a Radar station, with strict living conditions and security.

Not only were there layers of barbed wire, but there were also four tall watchtowers at the corners.

To the south by the river was the Infantry Battalion, camped along the river, mostly in simple wooden barracks, with many soldiers also temporarily staying in military tents.

The perimeter of the camp was filled with armored vehicles and military off-road vehicles.

The river beach area in the Northeast corner, with the mountain behind and the river in front, had a superior geographical position and was likely the main warehouse area.

To the west of the main camp, which was the direction He Yuzhu had entered from, was the joint camp area for mercenaries and Croat militia; the defense here was the loosest, and the personnel were a mixed bag.

He Yuzhu walked around and gained a rough understanding of this force.

Except for the command center, which had strict military discipline, the other units were extremely lax; soldiers were drinking in broad daylight.

It wasn't until dark that he took the two of them back to the mountain five kilometers away from the camp.

He Yuzhu searched the vicinity and found a Cave—in fact, this Cave was one he had dug using his space.

He settled the siblings in the Cave and left behind enough weapons and food.

"I'm going to blow up the armory. When I return, we'll deal with them together."

Ivan nodded vigorously, his eyes full of trust and worry: "Uncle He, you must be careful."

He Yuzhu nodded, walked quickly down the mountain, and drove the car swaggeringly back into the Military Camp.

Like a ghost, he shuttled through one NATO Military Camp after another in the night. Except for spending some money to drill a hole into the command center and planting a large amount of Explosive there, he didn't expend much effort to place the Explosive in other places.

Of course, the harvest was not small; every time he entered a Warehouse, he would search it first, collect some useful items into his space, pile all the useless ammunition together, and install a Timed Bomb.

He was busy for a full five hours, installing bombs in all the important Warehouses, with the time set for four o'clock in the morning.

He did not spare those barracks either—High-explosive Explosives were buried around most of the barracks, though the detonation time was three minutes later than that of the ammunition depots. He wanted the bombs to explode right under the soldiers' feet just as they heard the explosions and ran out of the barracks.

With everything arranged properly, He Yuzhu began to withdraw.

Just as he was about to run out of the main camp, someone in the darkness suddenly shouted: "Who goes there?"

Before the voice had faded, that person had already pulled the trigger.

He Yuzhu instinctively sensed danger and ducked down abruptly.

"Bang!"

The bullet whistled past his scalp, and in an instant, He Yuzhu performed a roll, his body rolling several meters away.

As he lay prone, a sniper rifle was already in his hand.

Relying on his intuition, he fired a shot in the direction of the gunshot.

There was indeed a hidden sentry sniper hiding over there.

That person did not expect He Yuzhu to react so quickly and was just moving the muzzle to fire a follow-up shot when, with a "bang," the bullet hit his arm squarely.

"Ah—" the man screamed and rolled to the ground.

Just at this moment, the sound of explosions rang out.

"Boom, boom, boom—"

Deafening explosions erupted one after another; one ammunition depot after another instantly sent fireballs soaring into the sky, illuminating the dark night as bright as day.

He Yuzhu did not go to find the sniper; his intuition today was very bad, and the sniper had fired even though the system had not alerted him to any danger, so he could not linger in the fight, and he even felt a bit of lingering fear—he was now a man with children and grandchildren, and he could not take risks anymore.

He rolled on the ground twice and, using various covers for protection, quickly withdrew from the main camp.

Behind him, the soldiers who had just run out of the barracks in a panic stood foolishly on the spot, staring blankly at the soaring flames in the direction of the ammunition depots.

"Boom, boom, boom—"

The next round of explosions suddenly rang out right beside them.

Many people were blown into mid-air by the blast wave. Those who were lucky enough to survive were mostly covered in injuries, lying on the ground and wailing.

And He Yuzhu's figure had long since disappeared into the thick night.
