Chapter 90: A Woman's Heart is a Needle at the Bottom of the Sea

~8 min read 1,545 words

Just as he reached the shop entrance, He Yuzhu spotted a farm woman wearing a coarse cotton-padded jacket and a blue cloth headscarf sitting at a street-side table, a striking red oil-paper umbrella placed beside her.

He Yuzhu strode over, sat down opposite her, and deliberately deepened his voice to ask, "Ma'am, your oil-paper umbrella is truly beautiful; where did you buy it?"

Wang Jiazhi gave him a cross look and lowered her voice: "Bought it at a shop near Zhongshanling."

"I'll go buy one for my wife another day," He Yuzhu replied in coordination, his gaze sweeping over the duck blood vermicelli soup she was eating and the few beef potstickers left on the plate.

He picked up a potsticker and put it in his mouth; it really was quite delicious.

While eating the potsticker, Wang Jiazhi said vaguely: "In a moment, go rent a rickshaw and take me to Yi Xiansheng's house."

"You want to kidnap him? That won't be easy to do outside the city," He Yuzhu frowned.

"There are only three Bodyguards at his place, plus an old woman who helps him manage his life. With your skills, it shouldn't be hard to handle them, right?" Wang Jiazhi put down her chopsticks, wiped her mouth with a handkerchief, and asked.

He Yuzhu rubbed his chin: "But I don't want to kill him with one strike. Since he is a traitor, he must have a lot of money on him; I want to make him confess where it is." His gaze was sharp, fixed tightly on Wang Jiazhi.

Wang Jiazhi picked up her bowl to take a sip of hot soup, the steam blurring her features: "He has a basement and secret passages in every residence. You can knock him out first and ask him slowly."

"Fine," He Yuzhu nodded, then asked: "What if he refuses to let you in?"

"Mind your own business, don't worry about me," Wang Jiazhi said with certainty.

He Yuzhu didn't ask any more questions and turned to find a rickshaw.

In a secluded alley, he found a rickshaw puller dozing off, approached silently, knocked the man out with a clean hand strike, stuffed enough Big Ocean coins into his arms to buy a rickshaw, and then pulled the rickshaw back to the beef potsticker shop.

At this moment, Wang Jiazhi had just finished the last potsticker. Seeing him return pulling the rickshaw, she asked in a low voice: "Did you steal it?" Her eyes looked around uneasily.

"Bought it," He Yuzhu sighed deliberately, "I feel like I might lose money this time; the money I got the day before yesterday is almost all spent." He spread his hands exaggeratedly.

"Don't cry poor to me!" Wang Jiazhi glared at him, "I went to check before I left; you took all the antiques in the basement. You are from the Liu Jia. You've been eyeing that mansion for a long time, haven't you? Always keeping a child in the tree... actually, I knew it long ago." Her voice carried a hint of sarcasm.

He Yuzhu didn't know whether to laugh or cry: "I did take those things, but it really has nothing to do with the Liu Jia."

He wanted to explain further, but Wang Jiazhi didn't want to listen.

"I don't care, anyway I have nothing to do with that village anymore." Wang Jiazhi waved her hand and tugged at her coarse cotton-padded jacket, "Do you think it's okay for me to go see Yi Xiansheng wearing this?" Her tone carried a trace of uncertainty.

"I think you're being a bit dramatic; just wear your own clothes. What if Yi Xiansheng asks where you got the clothes? I think we must prepare two large bundles, otherwise, I have no reason to follow you inside," He Yuzhu insisted.

"He won't let you in," Wang Jiazhi frowned.

The two argued for a long time, but in the end, Wang Jiazhi compromised.

By the Qinhuai River, He Yuzhu pulled the rickshaw, running and drenched in sweat. He complained incessantly: "This job is really not meant for humans; sweating while the wind blows, I'm bound to get sick. This is the last time! No next time!"

Wang Jiazhi sat in the rickshaw, eating a sugar-coated Gourd, admiring the crowd by the Qinhuai River; it was quite beautiful.

Clearly, she perhaps did not realize the danger of this operation, or she simply had no intention of coming back alive.

The thin ice on the river had not yet melted, flashing with a cold light under the sun.

When He Yuzhu pulled the rickshaw to a small western-style building on Zhongshan Beilu, Wang Jiazhi whispered: "Stop! It's this place ahead. His car is in the courtyard, he must be home."

He Yuzhu placed the things at the main gate and pressed the doorbell. Before long, a sturdy man came running out.

Seeing Wang Jiazhi, he was stunned at first, then asked: "Why are you here? Yi Xiansheng did not tell you to come." His gaze swept over He Yuzhu vigilantly.

"The mansion was robbed, I hid in a dog kennel to escape," Wang Jiazhi said with a sobbing tone.

"Then I'll go ask the master to see if he wants to let you in?" the Bodyguard hesitated.

"Stop talking nonsense, open the door quickly!" Wang Jiazhi said crossly.

Faced with the suddenly assertive Wang Jiazhi, the Bodyguard was at a loss. At this moment, He Yuzhu had already squeezed through the gate carrying two large bundles behind Wang Jiazhi.

The Bodyguard was just about to stop him when he was knocked out by He Yuzhu with a hand strike.

He dragged the Bodyguard behind a flower bed and quickly stowed him into his space.

Wang Jiazhi did not notice He Yuzhu's actions; she continued walking toward the small building.

After dealing with the Bodyguard, He Yuzhu quickly followed.

The two walked into the living room and found two Bodyguards standing at the entrance. Seeing Wang Jiazhi's farm-woman attire, they were stunned at first, then asked: "Miss Wang, why are you here?"

Before they could finish speaking, He Yuzhu struck like lightning, knocking both of them out.

"Wait a moment, let me hide these two."

He then opened a cabinet door and stuffed the two inside. In reality, he stowed them into his space.

Wang Jiazhi looked around uneasily, feeling a sense of trepidation at being near home, her fingers gripping her hem tightly.

"Yi Xiansheng must be in the study," Wang Jiazhi whispered, but she slowed her pace as she went upstairs.

Just as she reached the second floor, she ran into a middle-aged woman cleaning.

The woman saw Wang Jiazhi and suddenly screamed: "Yi Xiansheng, Yi Xiansheng! Miss Wang is back!" Her voice echoed in the empty hallway.

"Tell her to come in," a gloomy voice came from the study.

The old woman blocked He Yuzhu: "Who are you? Who let you in?"

"I'm the rickshaw puller, helping to move the things in," He Yuzhu said with a fawning smile.

"Just leave the things here, get out quickly, this is not a place for you to stay!" Before she could finish, she was knocked out by He Yuzhu with a palm strike.

He Yuzhu followed quietly behind Wang Jiazhi and pushed open the study door.

Yi Xiansheng was holding a Pistol pointed at the door, his face gloomy as he asked: "You're here to kill me, aren't you?" His finger was already on the trigger.

"You are truly suspicious. The house in the countryside was robbed, I barely survived by hiding in a dog kennel, I have nowhere else to go, so I came to find you." Wang Jiazhi's voice carried a sobbing tone.

Yi Xiansheng sneered: "Stop acting for me. If the mansion in the countryside was really robbed, you would have run away as fast as you could! How could you possibly come to find me?" His gun barrel lifted slightly.

Wang Jiazhi suddenly sneered: "If you don't believe me that much, then kill me." Her voice turned icy cold abruptly.

Yi Xiansheng turned the gun barrel toward He Yuzhu: "It seems this is the helper you found this time." His gaze was as cold as a venomous snake.

"I hired him to help me carry things," Wang Jiazhi said coldly.

He Yuzhu seemed not to understand what they were saying; after blowing his nose unscrupulously, he wiped it on his shoe sole, didn't wipe it clean, and then smeared it on his sleeve.

"I'm a rickshaw puller, the young lady said she'd give me five Big Ocean coins, so I followed her here. Young lady, you should pay me now." He Yuzhu deliberately put on a foolish, simple-minded appearance.

Yi Xiansheng frowned in disgust, his gun barrel subconsciously shifting toward Wang Jiazhi.

In that very instant, a Flying Knife flew out from He Yuzhu's sleeve, piercing his wrist like lightning.

His Pistol fell to the ground at the sound, and He Yuzhu pounced forward like a leopard, swiftly subduing him.

Yi Xiansheng tried to resist further, but was struck on the back of the neck by He Yuzhu's palm and collapsed limply.

Wang Jiazhi suddenly rushed forward, pulled out a Dagger, and fiercely stabbed it into Yi Xiansheng's heart.
